Disappointing!
24 August 2023
The biggest disappointment for me was all the character changes. Some were excellent in their roles, others, meh. I just felt the casting was a disaster in many cases. Obviously so did much of the dialogue was fabricated and very unbelievable. And as usual, music portions were too loud. Volume button down, volume button up.

Last note, the lady who played Anne in the last season looked so much like Margaret, I was constantly confused. How could the hundreds of people involved in this production not notice this.

Anyway, I finally made it through this series which didn't hold a candle to Downtown Abbey in my opinion.

Waste of Time!
10 December 2022
What a sad excuse for a woman who uses her near nakedness still, especially in this day and age of women wanting equality. Imagine (un)dressing like she does in front of her parents let alone all the people working the show. Her designer, Francesca, did her very best with all the flipping and flapping done by her employer! It's amazing to me that she sold her Malibu house but can only afford $750,000 to renovate her family property on Vancouver Island. I gave up after 3 episodes for a few reasons, a couple definitely being her voice, and her laughing at everything she said.

Certainly no surprise that she is divorced yet again.

TURN IT DOWN!
29 August 2022
Had it not been for my friend wanting to watch this disaster of a movie to the end, I'd have given up five minutes in. Just not my type of film really. The worst part was the sound! Spent the whole film adjusting the volume because the music portion was going to wake the neighborhood. Adjusting from 28 down to 6...28 was when Renee and Bradley were speaking. Six was the music. Complete waste of two talented actors! LOL 😄 the system is now telling me review is too short. Good grief, what more can go wrong with regard to this totally ridiculous film. And the best part is how do I know when I've reached 600 characters when there is no counter of characters.

Extremely overdone!
4 August 2022
Found this series to be very disjointed...a few minutes at a time for each scenario. Openly back alley sex, and the same situation at Studio 54 was ridiculous, and so unnecessary. No one seemed to be enjoying themselves; too busy looking at everyone else who appeared bored as well. I have preferred Ewan in so many other roles.

THRILLER?
24 March 2022
I don't think so, this is definitely a comedy! Worst acting, or lack there of, by Bruce Willis. The rest of the cast were no better. Not sure why I continued to watch it; perhaps thought it would pick up somehow. Sadly, nothing could improve this movie.

DREADFUL ACCENT!
16 February 2022
Waaaaay too long. Julia Garner was not the right person for this role in my opinion. She was so brilliant in Ozark! And Chlumsky overplayed so much. No woman has ever acted that way while pregnant. Gave up after third episode. Five stars are for the other actors only. Zero for writing and directing.

Really enjoyed this series, well acted and relationships very believable. Only issue for me, a Canadian, was understanding Ruby. I probably understood 1/4 of her dialogue! Hoping there might be another season.

STAY AWAY!

Dreadful adaptation of Harlan Coben's novel. Very convoluted but at the same time, very obvious. Cush just didn't suit the role in any way in my opinion. James Nesbitt is great no matter what role he plays, always with his good sense of humour. As well Richard, and Youssef we're excellent.

SEASON 6
19 December 2021
Obviously, the locations are stunning, the acting excellent, but 6 episodes is too long for one case (as in the past seasons as well). However, this season had way too many characters and was so convoluted, I was completely lost.

TOO LONG
14 November 2021
Agree with other reviewers, the second season dragged on and on. Amazing that there was never anyone else around the boat yard! As usual, I find the back and forth in timelines to end up being more confusing than necessary. The premise of the story was very good however, just a tad too long.

Brilliant!

Thoroughly enjoyed this well-written, well-acted series. I was surprised at the 'guilty' party in both series, somewhat similar to Agathie Christie's stories. A few more programs such as this would be very welcome.

Much too long....

Brilliant acting by Hamish Linklater....he should have been paid by the word! Unfortunately there was too much dialogue; could have been accomplished in four or five episodes at the most. Last episode a complete waste of time.

THE END?
31 October 2020
Wait, what? Was truly enjoying this series, and just heard it is over. But but but.....are we not left hanging somewhat? Very disappointed to say the least. Enjoyed the family dynamics, the 'involvement' of the neighbour, and thought the acting was brilliant on all their parts so am giving the 8 to the cast!

VERY DISAPPOINTING

The only pros for the series are the costumes....stunningly created and worn beautifully by all concerned. Sarah does her usual excellent job of acting, especially of such a dreadfully written script. There is just no point to this production unfortunately.

Best Dark Humour
21 July 2020
Mark Bonner is brilliantly funny in this well written, well acted series. If I could only get BBC Canada to run the series properly, in order weekly, I'd be thrilled.

Glad to hear there will be a Season 2!!

Warning: Spoilers
Other than struggling with the Yorkshire accent, I (Canadian) thought the acting was brilliant and totally believable as portrayed. However, I would like to know if Karen ever got her children back?

Brilliant Drama, but....

Warning: Spoilers
I found it hard to believe that Anna had not been in the courtroom when Eddie was charged and sentenced to prison! With all the media coverage etc., surely somebody knew who the real Eddie was if he supposedly returned to the same town. That being said, it was incredibly well acted by all, though I still struggle with time flipping back and forth. It is not very often that I don't enjoy an English/Scottish/Irish production...biggest issue sometimes...understanding the accents 😉

STARTED OUT SO WELL....
1 July 2020
Very disappointed in Season 3. So many scenes with no sense or follow up as to what is going on. Marcella merely wanders around looking and acting the tarty role, and has very little dialogue! Struggling to watch to the end. No need for a 4th Season. Enjoyed Season 1 and 2, but it has gone downhill from there.

FIX THE SUBTITLES!

Enjoying what I can, good acting, but the subtitles are either too fast, or not there at all.

BRILLIANT CHARACTERS
10 May 2020
Would have given this movie a 10 except for the use if the 'c' word....rather overdone imo. That being said, Hugh Grant, and Charlie Hunnam performed above and beyond in their roles...exceptional. Ritchie manages to secure brilliant performances from his characters!! Superb humour as well.

ENDING?

Warning: Spoilers
Just finished episode 10 and thought, OMG! Is Leo never caught? Really.....researched and apparently there will be a second season, but we won't see it until 2022. Good grief, will have completely forgotten the story by then!! That being said, I did enjoy this. Thought the characters were very well played by the cast. What the heck makes us so curious about modern and mayhem 😩

PATHETIC!
3 May 2020
There isn't enough room, or time, to review all the 'pathetic' errors in this script.....a complete waste of time except for the beautiful home. Dreadful acting, dreadful script.

SO CONVOLUTED!
27 April 2020
Kept watching...hoping it would improve. The concept is excellent, but all the flipping back and forth in time makes this difficult to keep up with. As always, music gets way too loud! Callus Turner was the most believable of them all.
