Samurai Jack: Episode XCII (2017)
The perfect way to continue a series!
Samurai Jack was an amazing cartoon series created by Genndy Tartakowsky. And we believed, we'll never know the end of it. It ended without a correct ending.
13 years later, Jack is back. And I must say, he's better than before! Samurai Jack season 5 is a lot more mature than the predecessor. Genndy Tartakowsky counted on we growing up and now, the show is on Adult Swim with more blood, more serious topics and... it's just crazy!
50 years have passed since the last episode, Jack doesn't age as a side effect of the time travel. He isn't the same. He's young, but his mind is old. He is losing sanity, he's broken mentally. But more badass then before! He lost his magical sword, but he uses all kind of other weapons.
The animation is a lot better, the art style is almost the same, but highly improved. The soundtrack and sound effects are awesome, the show is very atmospheric, it still doesn't have that much dialogue, but a bit more than in the previous four season.
It's truly a masterpiece, the good old comedy is still there, and it improved in many ways. 13 years waiting totally worth it. Genndy Tartakowsky proved himself again. He gave us with his crew what we the fans wanted. Samurai Jack is more mature and better than ever!
Samurai Jack: Episode XCIII (2017)
What have they done to Samurai Jack?!
I was skeptical about bringing back one of my childhood favourite show Samurai Jack... but at the same time I was like "Genndy Tartakowsky = can't be bad"
So I watched the first episode of season 5 and I was shocked! I was shocked how good it was! Beautiful art style, great soundtrack, great voice acting, wonderful, atmospheric sound effect. High quality show! Now of course that first episode set the bar high and I was worried the show can't keep up that quality. And I'm still not convinced about it. Episode 2 of season 5 (XCIII) was something I didn't expect. It was a masterpiece! Pure art! I can't believe what I've seen!
Beautiful in every aspects. And really dark. The art style was as good as in the first episode, but the animation was even better. Smooth, greatly choreographed fighting scenes, wonderful soundtracks (one of them is based on Ennio Morricone's "The Ecstasy of Gold"). The suspense! I really got goosebumps. I felt some fear and excitement watching this episode. Jack was in trouble. He had suicidal thoughts! The seven daughters are true threat for him. They are extremely strong and Jack doesn't stand a chance against all of them at once. The wolf metaphor was beautiful too. And the ending. I didn't see that coming. It was bloody and dark. And I really felt worried about Jack. It's not kids' show anymore! It's mature and dark and anything can happen.
It's a 10 out of 10 episode. I wonder if they can keep up this extremely high quality. And yes, it had some graphical mistakes (In one scene there were 8 girls), but it's forgivable! A masterpiece, that deserves some awards!
Thank you TartaGodSky and team!

Really fun web series!
The show features Mike Matei and James Rolfe (who is well known from his Angry Video Game Nerd web series) plays old video games from mainly the NES, SNES, N64, PS1 era. Sometimes they play through games, sometimes they just play game to show them to the audience. The show is mostly unscripted, but cut to make them shorter. There are a few exception, which are uncut.
Sometimes there are guests in the show like Bad Luck Bootsy. The show is free to watch on Cinemassacre's Youtube channel, and there is a new episode every Monday (what else did you expect?).
The episodes are fun, full of random jokes. Fun and nostalgia factor are both very high. The show is recommended for old-school gamers, AVGN fans, James Rolfe or Mike Matei fans. Oh and don't forget to mention, Bootsy kicks ass as a gamer.
