Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King: Crouch End (2006)
The Worst Stephen King Adaptation
When it's all said and done, I think this may be the worst adaptation of a Stephen King story. Nothing in it works - the acting is terrible, the camerawork is intrusive, the music is awful and the teleplay is boring and full of cliches. There was nothing interesting about it, it was a chore to sit through the 45 minutes.
At least with MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE or THE MANGLER or, even, THE LAWNMOWER MAN, you can watch and be engaged simply by the outrageous choices the filmmakers made. Not so with "Crouch End."
Merry Happy Whatever (2019)
Yuck!
Dennis Quaid is really unlikable in this "comedy." Unpleasant. Bullying. Dim-witted.
I've seen several reviews that say it gets better as it goes on - it doesn't.
Even though it's LGBTQ-conscious (which is a good thing for this type of show that's clearly aimed at middle-America), avoid this lump of coal.
Not recommended.
