Tekken 8 (2024 Video Game)

One of the best Fighting games around!
1 March 2024
This is what I'm talking about! This is how you make a polished, superb, and well-made fighting game!!! I'm so giddy that I don't even know where to start. I've been a big fan of this franchise since I was in elementary school. I've always loved playing this and found the Lore behind the characters and the plot Fascinating. I had expectations and I'm happy to report that they've all been met and, in some cases, exceeded by this latest entry.

First of all, the story mode! Man, what an Epic experience! I've always found Tekken to have the most fascinating of fighting game lore, however, I was also quite disappointed in Tekken 7's story mode thanks to the godawful narrator. The plot was dynamic, and the end fight scene was spectacular, but I also knew that Bandai Namco could do better and they have. Tekken 8 The Dark Awakens is the most ambitious and thrilling Cinematic story mode ever produced. It's not as long as the NRS Mortal Kombat and Injustice Story modes but man is it enthralling and quite anime-like in its execution. Its picks up right where Tekken 7 ended. Jin Kazama is still dealing with The Devil Gene that is has been cursed with and is entrusted with the task of taking down his evil father Kazuya Mishima in a no-holds brawl for the future of mankind. It's cheesy, over the top, and a little ridiculous, which is perfect imo! I loved that Its not just the Mishimas this time, every major character has a role to play in the plot, whether it's Xiaoyu and her confessing her love for Jin and defending him from Jack robots, Lars Alexanderson being a commander of an entire army, Victor fighting to uphold the UN's believe in balance of power, or the mischievous Reina, and her desire to take the Mishima Zaibatsu for herself. There's so much here and it's bound to keep you returning to relive your favorite moments time and time again. I got goosebumps by the finale. Honestly it's better than most recent films of a similar type.

Besides the story, there's plenty to do. Character endings are back and unlike the lackluster Tekken 7, these are worth playing through and watching. They are rather goofy and don't do a ton for the plot as most are non-canon what-if endings, but some give insight into the character's drives and ambitious and a few are pretty clever as well. There's Online multiplayer of course and if you're too intimidated there's also Super Ghost Battle and Arcade Quest as fun light-hearted single-player simulations of competitive fighting. There are over 32 characters in the base roster with many more to come in the future. There's Tekken Ball, a fun classic mini game from Tekken 3, and a decent customization mode. The fighting is as dynamic and as electrifying as ever, with new strategic mechanics like the heat system to keep things interesting. The Graphics and presentation are unreal. The biggest revolutionary upgrade since Tekken 5. What a time to be alive! I wish tons of success and excitement for this game for years to come. Between this and The Masterful Street Fighter 6 fighting game fans are eating good this year!

Dragon Ball (1995–2003)

A Nostalgic road trip of the Highest Caliber!
1 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Dragon Ball is a phenomenal show! It's one of the most influential anime's of all time and tells a timeless story that will be remembered for generations to come. I love everything about this awesome series and hope to one day share it with my kids, in order to keep the Dragon Ball Legacy alive. Dragon Ball tells the story of Goku, A young boy born with a Monkey tail who was found stranded in the woods by an old farmer named Gohan. He was raised as a kind, and a gentle loving boy who enjoys food and martial arts. One day Goku meets Bulma, bossy blue haired dame with a genius intellect who shares the secret of the seven Magic Dragon Balls with Goku, objects that when collected summoned the Eternal Dragon who has the ability to grant the discovery a single wish. Goku accompanies Bulma on her quest and so begins the adventure of lifetime. Dragon Ball is one of the most unique shows none to man. It's hilarious, Wildly entertaining, filled with mystifying adventure and Exciting, pulse pounding fight scenes and a Heart bigger than the mystical Dragon Shenron himself. It has everything that anyone could ever want in a show, maybe even more. All Five Seasons of the show contain something that make the show one of a kind and a must watch for anyone who hasn't experienced it already.

Season one: In the first arc the audience is first introduced to the Dragon Balls as well as the major characters that will accompany Goku on his journey. Master Roshi, Bulma, and Yamcha are all Stellar in their roles. There's also the introduction of Krillian who accompanies Goku during his training on Roshi's Island. It all leads to the two warriors participation in the World Wide Martial Arts tournament which is truly a sight to behold. You'll fall in love with Goku by the end of the season no question about it.

Season 2: This Seasons is very build up heavy but is already Great storytelling. We meet the Red Ribbon Army which is very adversary to this season as well as many story arcs down the line. We also Meet an Adversary known as Mercenary Tao, possibly one of the coolest Assassins in Fictional history.

Season 3: Another Fantastic Season. The Climb to the top of Korrin Tower is extremely Cathortic. The rematch between Goku and Mercenary Tao is amazing! Plus Goku reuniting with his Grandpa Gohan is touching as well. Not to mention that there's another Martial Arts tournament at the end of this season.

Season 4: So much Awesomeness! From Goku's fight with Tien to his confrontation with the Evil Demon King Piccolo. It all rules and is filled with some of the most mature writing in Dragon Ball. Which is extremely daring given how goody and comedic it usually is. The writers really went all out with this one.

Season 5: The best season I think. Goku finally grows up and we get a taste of the magnificent powerhouse of a warrior that he will become. Goku fights Piccolo in the world Martial Arts tournament attacking with the iconic Meteor combination, ending in a Kamehameha wave that remains one of the most triumphant and inspirational in the series to this very day. it's worth watching for that reason alone.

The Epic grand adventure of the Millenia! One of the greatest movies ever made!
18 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is perhaps the greatest achievement in cinematic history. It's the ending of Trilogy that ends the Journey even more masterfully than it began and it does it just a way that will leave you in tears once it's all over. I've cried while watching this, several times in fact. There are so many great emotional punches that it's staggerly long 3 and a half hour length(Four and a half if your watching the Extended) go by like a picnic. Honestly till this day I've never seen anything like before or since. We've had great movies, movies that mark the end of a series or trilogy. Movies like, The Dark Knight Rises, Avengers Endgame, and MockingJay. All try to end their series in an Epic fashion with a Grand final battle but none of these hit me with the same emotional punch like The Return of the King. Needlessly to say I FREAKING LOVE THIS MOVIE!

The film picks up right where the previous film left off. Frodo and Sam are still being led by Gollum on their perilous journey towards Mount Doom while Gandalf, Aragorn, Théoden and the others prepare for the War to end all wars. The Battle of Pelenoir Fields is in my estimation the greatest visual achievement in film history. Gandalf is a Titan when he leads Gondor's armies and Théoden is a Legend! The Sequence when he leads the armies of Rohan as they shout "DEATH" sends chills down by spine and moves me beyond measure. I adore that scene as I do The Oliphant battle. This movie is filled with battle sequences from beginning to end, the most out of the trilogy. In a film with so much action it would be easy to forget about the heart but to compensate this the movie somehow magically contains twice the emotion of The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers. There are so many sub plots in this adventure but rather than distract they give assistance to the main arch of the film. From Eowyn being the one female willing to fight side by side amongst determined men, To the tragic circumatance that Faramir finds himself in when he finds that his father detests him and rather him die over his diseased brother Boromir, to Théoden's acceptance of his mortality and letting go of his animosity towards Gondor. It's all Great stuff and does more than just about any 3 or 4 hour that I've ever seen to justify it's length. I will always cherish this film for that. The Climax is spell binding and Everything you can possibly hope for. Everything comes to a head at the end and it takes it's time getting there. Not only did I appreciate that but after the Climax the resolution becomes it's own unique section of the film. Frodo returns after destroying the ring and Gollum along with it to find the world has moved on without him. None of the Hobbits truly feel home when they return, though Sam is able to make the most of it after getting married and starting a family. Frodo must leave Middle Earth Forever and go with the Elves to the Valinor, a heaven like place far away from the rest of the world. A tear Jerker ending if there ever was one. All in all The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is one of the rare examples of a Perfect Movie. Everything is exactly as it should be. Everything from the first two films is tied up beautifully by the final acts of the film. Every moment feels like time well spent from the brief Look at the origin of Gollum that sets the tone at the opening of the film to the Closing of the door after Sam comes home to his family at the shire at the end. All of it feels like a revelation. This movie a Must Watch and one of the rare cases of a Sequel that surpasses it's predecessors. It's a Marvel to behold.

The Definition of Epic!
18 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is a ripping roaring success. It's in the company of Great sequels that manage to match the original film in nearly every way. it doesn't quite have the narrative focus the Fellowship of the Ring has but it more than matches it in overall quality. The Film delves much deeper into the Lore of Middle Earth than the original film and adds a host of welcome additions to the awesome roster of characters. In short it's pretty much everything you can ever want and more.

As reward for the abrupt ending of the original film The Two Towers picks up right where the Fellowship of the Ring left off. Our heroes are divided and the narrative continuously switches back and forth between multiple storylines occurring simultaneously. For starters we have Frodo and Sam on the most important quest. The Ring bearer must still journey to Mordor and cast The Ring into the fiery pit of Mount doom but they are accompanied by a new companion. The creature Gollum acts as a guide for the two Hobbits and imparts his knowledge of The Dark Lord's minions. He is a vital part of the puzzle but one with a nefarious purpose and an unhealthy obsession with the Ring, one that will lead to his downfall.

The Other primary story follows the remaining members of the Fellowship as they respond to the evil that has come to the great Kingdom of Rohan. We follow Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli as they grow closer to one another and their friendship tightens. It's not long until they are joined by a revived Gandalf who rides to the aid of King Théoden of Rohan. It is here where the subtitle of the movie is established. The Two Towers refers to the union and alliance between Sauron and Saruman. Between the evil forces of Mordor and Isengard. Saruman sends a Seemingly unstoppable army of ten thousand against The army of Rohan and the suspense builds, keeping the audiences glued to their seats until we arrive at the Battle for Helms Deep at the last half hour of the film one of the greatest War sequences in the history of cinema by far!

Overall this is an Excellent movie that's almost neck and neck with the first film. The cast is once again perfect and the new additions to the roster are seamlessly interwoven in the narrative. Bernard Hill is nothing short of sublime as King Théoden. The scene when he breaks into pieces and cries over his son's death should have gotten him an Oscar Nom alone! A riveting performances! Miranda Otto is also rather stellar as The King's niece Eowyn and the affection and almost child like crush that she develops for Aragorn is very believable, tender and a sharp rival to the rich chemistry He has for lady Arwen who makes a brief return as well. Andy Serkis as Gollum was a scene stealer and most definitely was robbed of an Oscar as well. Absolutely love his character, Brilliant, Naïve and impulsive to a fault, this character has more dimension than what you can shake your staff at. He's learned and has an almost unlimited supply of knowledge though his mind is scrambled and poisoned by the ring, he's tender at times, vicious and duplicitous during others, playful and humorous yet frightening. Sinister and hideous while also being sympathetic. What Peter Jackson and company have achieved with this character is nothing short of remarkable. He is the perfect Anti Hero for a time and is only more believable as a full on 3D Villain by the reveal at the tail end of the film. There is nothing I can truly say to you that really does this character justice.

This film is as relevant today as it was when it was released. Some of the most important lessons and themes about our world are discussed here. From the nature of Evil, addiction, Greed and corruption, the nature of Warfare. Hope in the face of insurmountable odds. The arc with Treebeard and the Ents is Great as well and is a poignant metaphor for nature vs industry. The scene when The Ents along with the brave Hobbits Merry and Pippin overtake Saruman's fortress is Inspiring as is the ending with Gandalf, Eomer and the Return of the Rohirram, saving Aragorn and ending the battle for Helms deep at the last minute. Sam's final Speech to Frodo about the good of this world being something worth fighting for ties all of the threads of the story in a neat little bow as does his proclaimation that their story may be one of the great stories that people will tell their children in years past. All in all The Two Towers is an instant classic and one that will leave audiences eager for the final chapter of this legendary trilogy

My Childhood Obsession!
18 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I was exposed to a lot of classic well made films growing up. Movies that sparked my imagination, love of storytelling, The Hero's journey, of Action/Adventure, and sweeping Epics but very few of those movies have inspired me Like The Lord of the Rings. This movie is a Sheer Wonder!!! Everything that you've heard, all of the praise that goes to this movie is deserved and then some. This first movie in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is Expertly told, built with Awe inspiring craftmanship and a profound sense of artistry oozing for every single minute of it's Three hour Long Screen time. It's one of the Greatest movies ever made. And one that I will Cherish for as long as I live.

The Fellowship of the Ring tells The story of the Evil Dark Lord Sauron and his desire to conquer Middle Earth(Which is the world that the story takes place in). Elves, Dwarves, and Men were given rings of power that granted them the capacity to govern each race but Sauron forged The Ultimate weapon, One Ring to rule them all. He reigned and subjugated the free peoples of Middle Earth hundreds of years ago but was defeated in battle by Isildur and The Ring was ripped from his possession. It was believed that Sauron was dead but with the Ring entact a part of his essence remained. The Ring remained hidden and forgotten of for many years until at last it found it's way into the hands of a Hobbit.

We first meet Frodo Baggins at his home in the Shire. His uncle Bilbo is celebreating is 111th birthday and leaves A magical Ring in his possession. Frodo soon learns from the Wizard and long time friend Gandalf that this Ring is in fact the one Ring forged in the fires of Mount Doom by the hand of Sauron himself. The Ring can only be destroyed in the accursed place that it was created and it will be up to a Team of nine, The Fellowship of the Ring, to Journey through the perilous world toward Mordor, the heart of all Evil, to destroy it's greatest Instrument. If that doesn't make for a Great hook frankly I don't know what does.

It's hard to talk about this movie and what works about it without explaining in detail but I will do my best to remain brief. Everything about the visuals is a joy to behold. From the land of Hobbiton to The Council of Elrond at Rivendell to the jaw dropping splendor of Lothlorien. Everything just looks stunning! But without Heart all of these effects would be meaningless. It's the actors that give this incredible world a voice and a vehicle with which to drive the story home. Elijah Wood as Frodo is a primary protagonist throughout the majority of The Lord of the Rings and his performance is Earnest and at times even heartbreaking. You can tell that there is something special about this Hobbit from the moment you meet him and it's confirmed when he volunteers amongst all others to be the Ring Bearer and carry the weight of the world on his shoulders. There is a sense of awareness and intelligence that he has that sets him apart from most Hobbits. Ian McKellen as Gandalf is Sublime. Mix the beard with the performance and it's easy to forget that this is the same man that plays the Mean spirited villain Magneto in X men. He brings not only Heart and Soul to the role but a sense of Wisdom that I don't believe for a second is an act but might actually be a reflection of who this man really is. Viggo Mortensen plays Aragorn, Isildur's heir and the chief Action Hero of the story along with The Elf Legolas and The Dwarf Gimli. Their perfomances are top notch and incredibly convincing as well. One of my favorite characters is Sean Bean as Boromir. He is a character that is short lived(Literally) But provides a arch that echoes throughout the entire trilogy. It's easy to misjudge Boromir at first. He is a very flawed character with a lot of baggage and history with Gondor, One of the two last Kingdom's of men. But it's through the characters struggle and redemption that the audience realizes that he has perhaps the biggest heart among the fellowship, second only to Sean Astin as Sam who in the early part of the story appears to be Frodo's side kick. But it's later on we realize he is meant for so much more and his unwavering determination and loyalty to his friend is essential to the story. I absolutely love this character and much of Sean Astin's performance demonstrates that Peter Jackson was meticulous in his casting decisions. Other Great performances include, The easy on the eyes Liv Tyler as the Elf Princess Arwen, the magnificent Cate Blanchett as the Elf Queen Galandriel, Elrond, father of Arwen, ruler of Rivendell played by the stern Hugo Weaving, and The magnetic Christopher Lee as Saruman, a Wizard that betrays Gandalf and creates his own evil fortress in Isengard to aid the forces of Mordor.

Overall this movie is classic and will remain unmatched by anything in it's genre. Every scene is dripping with finesse, every line an iconic piece of writing and every musical theme comparable to the likes of Mozart and Beethoven. Some many unforgettable moments and sequences. My favorite probably being the Mines of Moria, A sequences that involves the entire fellowship and their journey underground. So many Great effects and the stakes seem to be insurmountable particularly against the Balrog of morgoth, a demon that leaves the fellowship jumping across unstable pillars while being pursed by flying arrows, and which leads to the alleged demise of Gandalf. The Fellowship is in shambles at this point and it's certain that it will be broken. Frodo must go his own way and the way in which Galandriel reveals this to him is great and a one of the pivotal moments of the trilogy.

In short this movie is timeless. A classic work of literature by JRR Tolkien turned into a magnificent treasure of filmmaking by Peter Jackson. If your a fan of Tolkien you will enjoy watching your favorite characters and set pieces come to life and if not you will appreciate experiencing it all for the first time. The Fellowship of the Ring is a masterpiece of the highest caliber.

Batman: Arkham City (2011 Video Game)
10/10
Batman is back and better than ever!
27 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Batman Arkham City is a Phenomenal sequel to one of my absolute favorite games. It improves upon and enhances everything that made the first game amazing. The Combat has been enhanced. The Predator game-play is more challenging, There is so much more to do this time around and it features a much deeper storyline that the origin Arkham. In short it's pretty much everything you could ever want and more.

The premise of Arkham City revolves around a sinister plot hatched by Hugo strange and The approaching demise of the Joker. In response to the events of Arkham Asylum a huge section of Gotham city has been walled off and renamed Arkham City. This is massive prison in which nearly all of Batman's major Super villains are kept. What set's this game apart from others is that it is truly a story driven experience. Pretty much every major villain has a cameo of some sort and the plot is emotional resonant. I was honestly not expecting for Protocol ten to be a plan to wipe every inmate of Arkham off the map. It's really gripping stuff and the fact that Rocksteady had the balls to kill off The Joker is amazing. It's easily one of the best endings I have seen in anything. It even rivals The Chris Nolan movies in terms of quality.

The game play is very much the same as Asylum with an open world twist this time around. The Combat is crisp and smooth. Flying through the air is great and there is so much to do in terms of side quests that the main story doesn't even compromise half of the content in the game. This also contains one of the sexiest versions of Cat-woman that I have ever seen. That alone makes Arkham City worth the price of admission! So happy that I played this game!

Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009 Video Game)
10/10
The Best Batman voice ever!
24 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Batman has never been more of bad ass! Batman Arkham Asylum is one of the finest outings for the caped crusader. Not only is it a top notch game with excellent attention to detail and amazing production value it is also an absurdly fun game to play. I couldn't even begin to count the number of hours I spent with this Masterpiece. I've beaten the main story several times and I suspect that I will continue to do so in the future. It's by far one of the best video games that I have ever had the opportunity of playing. The Game begins with Batman capturing the Joker and delivering him to the Asylum. Through a sudden turn of events we discover that The Joker had been planning his abduction all along. He takes over the Asylum with the help of Harley Quinn. Now it is up to the gamer to take back the Asylum as Batman. The Best part of it all is that it contains The voices from the animated series. These are both the quintessential actors for the roles. AS much as I enjoy hearing other actors portray the characters There is simply nothing that comes close to the chemistry between Conroy and Hamill. It's so magnetic that it draws the audience into the story like few games could.

The Gameplay is addictive and deceptively easy to grasp at first hand. Right from the start of the game Joker frees the thugs from black gate prison and it's up to you to take them out. To put it mildly The Arkham fighting system is Genius! I've never played an action game with a combat system that made you feel like such a bad ass It's just so simple and yet it looks so cool. There will be moments in the game where you'll find yourself fighting against a dozen to twenty guys at a time and all you have to do is alternate between the attack and counter buttons to dispose of them. But the thing that makes the combat so addictive is that it's easy to learn but insanely difficult to master.

The Other major corner stone of the game-play of Arkham Asylum is predator mode. During these sections of the game Batman will find himself in a room with several men patrolling it armed to the teeth with guns. With all the ass you've been kicking in traditional combat it's easy to forget that you're just a man but these sections of the game do a Masterful job in humbling the gamer. Once you get the hang of this aspect of the game you will truly feel as if you are a force of nature as you find ways to split the group of enemies apart and take them down one by one before anyone of them understand what's going on. There are a number of ways to do this which makes the process overwhelming. It's easy at first but towards the end of the game you'll find yourself in a room with twenty armed guards and you not sure who to take out first. Thankfully Predator is fast paced and aggressive thanks to detective mode. Detective mode is Batman's link to the Batman computer providing by his trusted partner Oracle and is useful in practically ever section of the game. It's basically X ray vision and it allows Batman to see threw walls and buildings as well as isolated armed henchmen. With this feature you will surely see enemies coming from a mile away and will have plenty of time to prepare for your next attack. The best stealth take downs are the inverted ones that you can do from the overhead interior gargoyles. Hanging enemies upside down while they scream in terror simply never gets old. This feature becomes the most enjoyable when the enemies fear meter builds up. At a certain point they become so frightened they begin to shoot into the air randomly. So despite the challenge the predator aspect of the game truly gives you the opportunity to feel like Batman and that perhaps is the highest praise that anyone can give it.

One of the best things about the game, aside from The fun game-play, Dark atmosphere, and great graphics are the memorable clashes that Batman has with some of the super villains in the Asylum. My personal favorite are the haunting dream like sequences with Scarecrow that pop up during certain moments of the story. There are simple no words to describe How Phenomenal this part of the game really is. My favorite moment was when Scarecrow's toxin actually forced Batman to be taken throw the murder of his parents all over again. I actually cried in that moment. No other video game has made me feel that way and I've played Shadow of the Colossus. That is all.

There is little I can say about Batman Arkham Asylum that hasn't been said already. It's just an amazing game and is certainly deserves it's game of the year award. It will be forever cherished in my memory as one of the finest renditions of the character of all time! A timeless classic and one of my absolutely favorites!

Lost (2004–2010)
9/10
One of my Favorite TV shows! An Instant Classic!
3 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Lost is without a doubt one of the greatest Shows to every grace American Television. Its a classic show filled with intense and thought provoking Drama, Great Romance, and many Twists and turns to keep the audience hooked in their seats throughout the course of Six seasons. The Initial premise begins with a bunch of strangers aboard a plane crashing on an mysterious island but quickly evolves as The Survivors realize that their new home is more than what it appears to be. The Mystery of the Island is enough to intrigue me but that's not even half of what makes Lost such a Masterpiece. The true heart of the story is the characters. They are so Deep and interesting. Each of them have a reason for taking the flight that resulted in being stranded on the island. Each of them have complex Dilemma's and inner demons. My Personal Two favorite characters of the show are Sawyer and John Locke. Few characters in the series have as much dimension as these too. The main character Jack Shephard is great as well. Some of my other favorite characters are Juliet and Ben linus. Each of these characters experienced a tragedy in their lives that made them who they were. As the series takes the audience through the characters adventures on the Island we also explore each characters back story one at a time in a series of Flashbacks.

Season 1: One of the greatest seasons and the perfect introductory season to our main heroes. Everything from the opening crash to the survivors desperate attempt to escape in the Finale are nothing short of Genius. A timeless piece of amazing filmmaking.

Season 2: Another wonderful season for this series. We are introduced to the tail survivors of the crash and the story picks up an insane amount of adrenaline up until the shocking conclusion.

Season 3: This is the season when we meet The others. the people who have lived on the Island in homes for years. They are some of my favorite characters and the best part of this season is the ending. The Season Finale reveals a Flash forward instead of a Flashback. its Genius and one of the best Twist endings of all time. This is when the Destiny of our characters reaches its peak and the mid way points mark a New test for our heroes. The remaining half of the show is every different.

Season 4: Another great season filled with new characters and shocking discoveries.

Season 5: Great season that explores the concept of Time Travel.

Season 6: Good ending to a classic series. The Finale wasn't what I was expecting but the more I watch it the more a appreciated it. The series defiantly began stronger than how it ended but that's doesn't change the milestones that it reached. I can only hope that I will find another show this Epic one day.

Dragon Ball Z (1996–2003)
10/10
One of the most Epic Cartoons this world has ever witnessed!
2 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Dragon Ball Z is the most Epic that Television can possibly get. It has amazing characters, A classic Story, Exilarating action, Raw and genuinely good emotion, and some of the best music ever put in a Cartoon. I absolutely adore this show. Dragon Ball Z begins with the main character Goku and his family. He is an adult but has the brain of a child. He is pure hearted, empty headed, and the most happy go lucky character you can possibly imagine. I love Goku. He is noble and tenacious the likes of which one has never seen before. We follow him and his adventures with his friends and family as they look for the magical Dragon Balls that when all are collect will summon the eternal Dragon Shenron to grant any one wish. If you have seen this show you probably already know that it is a show about fighting. No big surprise there. It is an action series no one is denying that but this show has so much more to offer than what meets the eye. This show is Beautiful and has a lot of Heart and soul. It is about why we fight and whats worth fighting for. At a certain point I realized that this show is about a relationship between a father and his son. Goku is the main hero of the story but he passes the torch to his son who in turn becomes quite the bad-ass himself. The other important relationship in this story is the one between Goku and Vegeta. Their Rivalry is one of the most fascinating that I have ever seen in any medium or genre. The character of Vegeta is an Anti Hero and one of the deepest, most three dimensional characters I have ever seen in any work of fiction. He is brought to life by voice actor Christopher Sabot and he is the ultimate Badass. I loved his character and the Journey that he takes throughout the totality of this phenomenal series. I grew watching THe funimation version of this show and to me it is definitely the best version to watch for he music alone. Bruce Faulconer is such a wonderful composer and he brings so much life to this show and all of its dramatic moments. It's one of the greatest musical scores that I have ever heard. I still listen to it to this day! Saiyan Saga- In this Saga Goku learns that he is a Saiyan named Kakorat. An alien with incredible fighting power. THe main Villain of this saga is Vegeta and the fight between him and Goku sparks their rivalry.

Namek/Ginyu Saga- Very loaded and fascinating saga from a story telling perspective. This is the first time that the audience sees Vegeta as more than a villain and one of the first times that Goku seems severely outclassed. Captain Ginyu is the main bad by of this season.

Frieza Saga: Maybe my favorite saga of DBZ. Goku fights Frieza with everything that he's got and still doesn't scratch him for quite some time. Frieza is arguably the most epic villain of DBZ and definitely the most sadistic and frightening. Vegeta's death breaks my heart every time I see it. This is also the saga when we see Goku finally become the legendary Super Saiyan that he was always destined to be.

Andriod Saga: This is when trunks gets sent back from the future terminator style after the androids have polluted his time so that he can help Goku save his. I loved the mystic in this season and the feeling that The Andriods are only the tip of the ice berg and their is more turmoil Brewing up the surface.

Cell Saga: This is when we meet the ultimate android and gohan takes up his father's mantle as the warrior who is destined to beat him. Gohan in this saga is Unbelievable! I couldn't how Epic he became.

World Tournament Saga: This is when Goku comes back to earth to participate in the tournament with his friends only to discover that their is a new and ancient evil ready to strike.

Majin Buu Saga: This is a fascinating and underrated villain with a lot more to him than what meets the eye. I loved this saga almost as much as the rest.

Thats basically a run down of the sagas of this magnificent show. I highly recommend it. It is one of my favorite shows of all time! I loved it when I was a kid and even more now.

Angel (1999–2004)
10/10
One of the Best Vampires of All Time!
2 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Angel is a Gem of a TV show. It is a Masterpiece of the art form by Joss Whedon. Part of the Appeal of Angel is that it mixes so many genres and it does so seamlessly. The series is funny when it needs to be but is also a Dark and Dramatic Film Noir. Angel is a character who is much like Batman. A vigilante that only comes out during the night and spends the days broody over his troubled past.At a certain point it is hard not to get engrossed by this incredible series. Throughout all five seasons I was hooked into the complicated fantasy plots that always turned into something that you least expected. Angel is a deep character that carries this series very well and gives it a soul unlike any other.

Season 1- This was an excellent starting point for the series. Cordelia receives a lot of excellent character development here. The Crossovers with Buffy were a joy to watch as well. This season also reveals how noble of a Character Angel is.

Season 2: This is when the series branches off into something deep and Epic. The Angel/Darla plot is used to its fullest potential. This is also a great season because it is about friendship. Angel's relationship with his teammates is tested here and it kept me hooked for hours.

Season 3: Cordelia's character receives a massive upgrade in this season and the revenge story with Holts is amazing. Darla's story is finally concluded in this epic season.

Season 4: Faith returns as her usual bad-ass self and even more Iconic is the return of the infamous Angelous.

Season 5: perhaps my favorite season just because my favorite vampire of all time Spike becomes a regular. As one of the main characters in this season he is always attacking Angel. I loved Spike and Angel's rivalry as well as the comparisons between the two characters.

After Season 5 the show was ended. Part of me wishes it didn't because this is one of the best shows I have ever seen but I understand that all things have to come to an end and what a way to end such a Great series. If you are the least bit interested in vampires or Fantasy shows at all then this show is a must see. You will not regret it. It's my favorite Television series of all time along with Buffy The Vampire Slayer. It's absolutely Phenomenal!

A sequel almost as impressive as its predecessor. An all time Classic!
13 October 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Everything that was good about the original Batman is back in The second movie. This is a fantastic film with top notch performances, stage design, atmosphere, music, and character development. I adore this movie almost as much as the original. I thought that soundtrack from Danny Elfman was even better this time around that it was in the original. He has outdone himself. Its intense, frightening, bittersweet, tragic and out of this world! Its quite a magnificent feat to behold. Michael Keaton is brilliant as The Caped Crusader. He is a total Badass and doesn't seem to be afraid of anything. He is a quiet intellectual who can work his way out of problems that no one else could even dream of. He gets himself into trouble in this movie and we are reminded that Batman is still a human like the rest of his and is not invulnerable. The film's art direction is just as dark as it was in Batman but this time its much more Gothic and Halloween like. This film's tone shifts quite a lot. It is quite a mouthful but never becomes crowded or overbearing. There are moments when the film is very somber and bittersweet and their are moments when the film is bizarre and disturbing. All of these moments are handled brilliantly in the film and so are the characters. This was an incredible important film in Batman cinema history. It introduced the two villain per film formula that every Batman film proceeding this would Imitate. To say that Michelle Pfieffer played Catwoman would be almost rhetorical and perhaps the understatement of the century. She was The Freaking Catwoman! We meet Selina Kyle before she becomes cat-woman. This film does a masterful job of making audience understand the character and her pain and Isolation. Her transformation from Mousy Secretary to fierce feline is Brilliant, memorizing, and Unforgettable. The scene when Selina Kyle trashes her apartment is heartbreaking yet we also feel a catharsis and a sense of release with her. The scene is unnerving and hard to watch but it makes perfect sense for the character. When She becomes Catowmen she is sexy, and frankly quite scary. I absolutely loved Pfieffer's cat-woman. She keeps you on your toes the entire ride and it is a riot to watch her go at it with Batman or embark on random rampages. I thought Danny Devito gave a performance of a lifetime as The Penguin. His performance will most likely never be rivaled or surpassed. He was an animal. He scared the daylights out of me as a child when He bite that man's nose off. I loved every line of dialog that came out of his mouth. He was truly menacing and disappeared into the character. The makeup for The Penguin was freaking awesome. The character's story was classic and beautifully told in a way that I have never seen before. Its easily the best role that I have ever seen Danny Devito in. Christopher Walken was great as Max Schrek. A power hungry bully that wants to control all of Gotham's energy with a power-plant that will actually steal power from Gotham. This movie is a rare Gem that will delight and memorize audiences for years to come. Due to its impeccable writing, excellent characters and haunting atmosphere. It is an absolute Marvel of a film!

Batman (1989)

An atmospheric Masterpiece!
13 October 2012
I absolutely adore this movie. I grew up with this movie and it will always have a special place in my heart. I am aware of the 60s comedy series but This is first real definitive Batman film. Tim Burton crafted a cerebral film that draws you in due to its setting and atmosphere. The Characters are fascinating and the performances do a perfect job of capturing the complexity and these iconic characters. The cinematography is flawless and so is the direction. Everything about this movie just screams Batman and its freaking Epic. There is a scene at the beginning of the film When two goons are talking about their fear of the Bat just before The Caped Crusader himself gracefully glides down a few feet behind them in the distance. The elegant and eerie music that kicks in during this memorable scene from the film gives me goosebumps every time I see it. Danny Elfman's score captures the awe and majesty of The Dark Knight in a unique way that no other score ever could. I can listen to it over and over again and be moved by it. The score is inspiring, genius, intense, blood pumping, exhilarating, and just plain awesome. It becomes part of the world of Gotham city that audiences remember the most. Gotham is dark, brooding and a very fearful place. Tim Burton does an amazing job of making the audiences believe that this city need a symbol of hope like Batman. Someone who is just as if no more elemental and terrifying as the criminals that he is up against. The character of Bruce Wayne/Batman is presented Masterfully in this picture. He is mysterious and hides in the shadows for the most of the picture. This makes his appearances all the more meaningful for this film and exciting. His dramatic entrances are the best. The costume looks great and so does the bat-mobile and all of Bruce's gadgets. I absolutely loved Michael Keaton's Interpreataion of the character. As Bruce Wayne he is nerdy and unsure of himself. He can't overcome his inner demons by being Bruce Wayne. Bruce surrounds himself with so much exotic images in order to illustrate this. He is a man of few words who is unable to express himself. When he is Batman his attitude chances. He becomes a man of action who by dawning the symbol of a demon is able to vanquish them. The incredible visuals speak volumes about what the symbol of the Bat does for Bruce. It makes him stronger and it becomes shocking how good Keaton's acting is. His performances is magnificent. Kim Bassinger is great and underrated as Vicky Vale. She is a loving and sweet person. She probably the most normal person in the film which is much needed considering how crazy and fantastic all the other characters are. She is a reporter who wants to learn more about Batman and mostly about Bruce Wayne. I love the angle Burton went with her character. She isn't some shallow hotty who has the hot for Batman because he is the cool bad-boy in town like in Batman Forever(sorry Nicole Kidman). Time is well spent developing the relationship between her and Bruce and she it is clear that she genuinely cares for him. Vicky screams a lot and is clearly a damsel is distress but that doesn't mean she doesn't have courage. She follows Bruce into the darkest corners of his life and his brave enough to deal with the consequences. Jack Nicolson was born to play The Joker. He gives the best performance in the movie. He is absolutely amazing proving that The Joker is a difficult role to mess up. He is an incredibly goofy villain but not merely for the sake of it like Jim Carry and Tommy lee Jones in Batman Forever. Jack is no a comedian. He is an actor. He infuses his performance with a tint of malice and a psychotic outbreak in all the scenes with him laughing like a clown. He is a very creepy villain but also a very entertaining one.His fixed smile is brilliant and disturbing and his laughter is positively chilling. This movie has some great action scenes and set pieces but takes this film to the next level is depth and intrigue of the characters. The Characters are conveyed masterfully and this is what makes Batman a film that will be cherished and celebrated as one of the best superhero films for years to come.

Goes out with a Bang instead of a Wimper! An impeccable ending!
26 August 2012
Amazing Movie!! Saw it in Imax and it was brilliant! This is easily my favorite ending to a trilogy besides The Return of the King. I absolutely adored the plot, Characters, Performances, scope, cinematography, Score and nearly everything else about this marvel of a film. The film is nearly three hours long and it feels like thirty minutes! I could have sat in the theater for twenty hours watching this movie and it would have been perfect. The atmosphere of this film felt so epic yet I got the impression that everything that happen in the film could happen in real life. This movie is an instant classic and will be cherished by myself and many others for decades to come. The action is relentless! This is a crime thriller unlike anything that you have seen before. Most of the effects are practical rather than cgi and it shows in its potency. This is probably the best ensemble cast that I have ever seen in my life. Almost every character is given their moment to shine. Christian Bale is Riviting!!! This is probably his best performance out of the three films. His character arc comes to a devastating conclusion. His sadness and pain is made clear to the audience thanks to his intense acting. He steals the show in the scenes he is in. Anne Hathaway steal the show in the scenes that she is in and Tom Hardy steals the show in scenes that he is in. Nearly every character steals the show in the scenes that they are in. This movie is crazy! This is unbelievable! everyone who doubted Anne Hathaway should keep their mouths shut! She fierce, cunning, manipulative, sly, slick, Gorgeous, strong and just plain AWESOME!!! She was the Heath Ledger of this wonderful film in many ways. Best Catwomen Ever!!!!! Tom Hardy as Bane was the ultimate Villain. He was the Anti-Batman. The perfect villain to end a series with. His dialogue is brilliant. His strength is insane. The fight scene between him and Batman is beyond Insane! Gary Oldman will break you heart. The Final scene between him and Batman is so genius that I cry merely by thinking about it. Michael Caine will move you to tears. This is his best performance in the series yet. Morgan Freeman is great as usual. Marian Cotillard is the weakest member of the cast but she is very good in most of the scenes she is in. It is only in her last scene that she delivers a startlingly flat performance but not enough to ruin the momentum of the film. This film build tension so masterfully well I think Nolan should continue making thrillers for the rest of his life. Joseph Gorden Levitt as John Blake is so fantastic that I had no problem believing the twist that dealt with his character at the end of the film. Not only is this perhaps the greatest trilogy ever made but it is the perfect example of the hero's Journey. No movie in this entire milky way could have told this story better than Nolan did. I don't say this lightly. This trilogy is a work of unfathomable GENIUS! I never felt so forfilled in all my life! If you love movies you must see this movie. Everyone must watch this entire series!

Batman Begins (2005)
9/10
A perfect reboot
26 August 2012
This film is absolutely Outstanding! Its nails the character, the world he inhabits and everything around him Beautifully. I couldn't have hoped for a better and more cinematic experience. To call batman begins the first perfect batman live action movie would be true but a complete understatement. This is still easily one of the greatest comic book films of all time and the most thorough origin story that I have ever witnessed. The film explores everything that previous live action incarnations either never could or never thought to. The first thirty minutes of the film don't feature Batman at all but instead the audience is acquainted with Bruce Wayne as both a child and as young and troubled man. He is portrayed by the amazing Christian Bale. The audience develops a Intimate bond with him the way that we have never seen before. The rest of the cast is absolutely magnificent. Liam Neeson is brilliant as Bruce Wayne's martial Arts master. He inspires Bruce when he is at the most vulnerable point in his life. The training sequences in the snowy mountains are some of the most memorable parts of the movie for me. What impeccable screen writing! Michael Caine was born to play Alfred. The relationship between Alfred and Bruce is beautiful. You can tell that Alfred is the closest thing that Bruce has to a father. Morgan Freeman is excellent as Lucius Fox and Gary Oldman is beyond excellent as Jim Gordon. Finally the character Gordon has a say so in these movies. Cillian Murphy is Fantastic as the evil Scarecrow/Jonathan Crane. The weakest link in the film is Katie Holmes but she still does a good job for the most part. Her characters relationship with Bruce is very engaging even if she doesn't have much chemistry with Bale. Also she gets to deliver one of the best lines in the film "Its not you who are underneath but what you do that defines you." The film is gripping unlike any Batman story that you have ever imagined. The film is dark and gritty but not merely for the sake of being dark and gritty. This has a meaning story about a young man who uses a fearful symbol to exact vengeance on the criminal underworld. The character grows and matures as the film progress from a victim of fear and tragedy whose world was falling apart to a fully fledge unstoppable hero that makes the criminals fear him. The Hanz simmer score is masterful and in my humble opinion the best ever put in a batman film animated or live action. This movie is a masterpiece and underrated by fans of its slightly superior sequel The Dark Knight.

One of the best movies ever Created!
26 August 2012
BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!! This movie was an absolute masterpiece in every sense of the word. It was thrilling, entertaining, frightening, deep, and meaningful. I absolutely adored every second of this Phenomenal ride. Not only is this the best superhero movie ever made but it is one of the best movies ever made period. I couldn't even begin to describe how this movie changed my life and the way that I see the art of cinema. This is a sequel that proves just how necessary sequels are and that they can be superior to the original. Batman Begins is outstanding but The Dark Knight grabs the audience by the throat and forces them into submission in a way that no movie ever has. This is not a movie that one merely likes or even loves. This is a movie that burns into your subconscious for months on end after you have seen it. It is easily the most memorable movie that I have ever seen. I firmly believe that Batman is the most complex hero ever made so when I say that This movie reaches depths never seen in a Batman movie that is no understatement or lack of appreciation of the previous Batman titles. Christopher Nolan outdoes himself with this movie. His directing skills are in full form and so are the cinematography and the art direction. Nolan made a great decision to shoot this movie on Imax. The scene when Batman goes to get Lau out of Hong Kong is a magnificent treat to both the ears and eyes. All of the action scenes are executed with great efficiency and finesse. One of the most intense and thrilling action scenes that I have ever seen in a movie to date. The Batpod is one of the coolest looking vehicles that I have witnessed in my life. The way it maneuvers is Badass and the scene when it flips the truck over is simply a stroke of genius on the part of Chris Nolan. This scene perfectly captures the violent tension between the protagonist and the antagonist of the picture. This movie is about so much more than cool explosions and Batman versus The Joker. It's about how much Batman and Joker represent what goes on in our society and the world. Joker is the greatest nemesis of the bat for a reason. Not because clowns and Bats have anything to do with each other but because they are unique polar opposites and represent different aspects of the human condition. The Joker is a happy clown who is humorous and carefree. He seems to be really innocent and angelic. He is too happy and that is what makes him creepy. He is hiding the madness, sadism, disgust of humanity underneath that facade. That's the best way for pure chaotic evil to thrive. Everyone considers him to be a Joke until he strikes. This is what makes the Joker so lethal. He takes innocence in its purest form and turns it into a nightmare. The Joker dominates this entire movie thanks to the late Heath Ledger's Oscar-Winning mesmerizing and staggeringly complex performance as The Joker. Heath Ledger gives the best villain to a movie that I have ever seen in my life. He doesn't spill any blood and yet commands terror with every line that comes out of his mouth. It's unbelievably sad that we lost such a great actor. This is a once-in-a-lifetime performance. Every scene that he is in is cinematic gold. Batman always stays in the shadows and is tortured and always reflects on his actions. Christian Bale does an excellent job of being both Batman and the billionaire Bruce Wayne. He is dressed as an evil demon in order to act like a hero. It's the best way for justice to thrive in the city. He takes a nightmare in its purest form and turns into something heroic. That's why The Bat symbol is one of the most inspiring symbols of all time. It makes you believe that one person can really make a difference in the world. The supporting cast is amazing as well. Maggie Gyllenhaal is great as Rachel Dawess. Morgan Freeman is terrific as Lucius Fox. Michael Caine is the perfect Alfred. Gary Oldman deserved an Oscar for his brilliant performance as Commissioner Gordon. That leads me to Harvey Dent/Two-face played by Aaron Eckhart. Both Ledger and Eckhart deserved academy awards for playing such deep and profound characters. Eckhart's take was tragic and nothing short of unforgettable. He was the heart of the film and should be studied as a reference for future movies featuring the character. Hanz Simmer's score was sheer perfection, especially during Two-face and Joker scenes. I walked into this movie with insanely high expectations and had all of them meet or exceeded. I have never seen anything quite like this movie in my entire life. I left the theater exhausted and I have never fully recovered from how amazing this film was. It is Platinum and a Jewel that will never be made again. I love this movie and I will always love this movie for as long as I shall live.

The worst movie ever created!
26 August 2012
This movie is an abomination that should never be made again. Every cast member is horrible in this film. George Clooney is the worst Batman by along shot and Arnold is unbearable as Mr.Freeze. Uma Thurman is a great actress but you could never know that by watching her try to act like Poisen Ivy. The Plot is laughable and to merely quote the cheesy dialogue causes me physical pain. I can get over stupid bat nipples what I can't get over is horrible dialogue and a a plot so shallow it would embarrass the worst Saturday morning cartoon. This movie almost made me hate bat girl and Robin. Bane was a completely joke in this film a should be forgotten forever by batman fans. No human being alive should have to endure the torture of Batman and Robin.

the first step in the completely wrong direction.
26 August 2012
This movie is directed by Joel Schumacher. The first of two that have been changed completely from Tim Burton vision of Gotham city. Unfortunately Joel Schumacher changed this series for the worse instead of for the better. I applaud him for trying to make this movie different than the previous two batman films and I actually have no problem with him trying to make this movie for kids but sometimes too much is just too much. Val Kilmer is not very convincing in the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman and Nicole Kidman is wasted in this movie and is merely a very pretty face. Robin was actually better handled than he could have been. Robin is not what ruined this movie. The neon lights are not what ruined this movie either. Heck even the bat nipples on the costume didn't even ruin this movie. the overall generic plot that had the potential to be interesting is what ruined this movie. instead of exploring the villains they devour the screen with their over the top silliness. Jim Carry plays the riddler like every other film he has ever been in like the mask. Jim Carry is cool but his over the top performance becomes tedious and annoying. I hated Tommy lee Jones as Two-face in this movie. More like the Joker than Harvey dent. All he does is laugh the entire time he is on screen. what a waste of a good actor. I would rather watch Tim Burton's batman over this movie any day but this movie is heaven on earth compared to the monstrosity that followed it.

A Huge Letdown
17 July 2012
This movie was a noble failure. This could have been a great sequel that redeemed the franchise that reached an abysmal low with Superman 4 but it failed. This movie is only slightly better than Superman 3. All of the charm that made the first Superman films classics is gone and what we have instead is a hollow shell of what Superman is. One of the biggest flaws with the film is the casting. None of them are Bad actors but many of them are the antithesis of what their characters are supposed to be. Brandon Routh was charming as the nerdy clark Kent but was incredibly wooden as the man of steel. I could never believe that he was really superman despite the cool effect and action scenes. The Action in the original Superman was technically worse than Returns but their was much more tension and a sense of awe and wonder. Kevin Spacey gave probably one of my favorite performances in The Usual Suspects but he is out of the place in this movie. His acting comes off very phony because he is playing Gene Hackman instead of lex Luther. Occasionally he plays himself instead. Kate Bosworth's performance was the very antithesis of the character. She is not a bad actress but her performance is an unintentional middle finger to the superman legacy.

The Plot was rushed and incredibly boring. This movie is about 2 and a half hours long and boy does it feel like it. This movie was much too long for what type of film it was and the time was poorly spent. The only interesting parts of the story where when we see Brandon Routh suspended in mid air listening to the voices of all the people around him. The Idea that he is alienated from everyone around him is an interesting one but this film rarely explores it. Most of new ideas that the movie has to offer are thrown around but rarely discussed. The idea that the world doesn't need superman is tossed around but never discussed, the idea of superman being in danger of dieing is tossed around but never discussed, the idea that superman has an illegitimate child is tossed around but never discussed etc. Its as if the writers feel that simply throwing out random new ideas into the story will somehow magically make the film better without allowing those ideas to fully crystallize. In the end Superman Returns could have been a good movie but ends up being ruined because of the lack of cohesion in the plot and the script.

Watchmen (2009)
10/10
One of the most cerebral and moving superhero Epics ever made!
1 July 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I am a huge fan of superhero stories on film but I have never been into comics. I am very impressed by the quality of medium but they don't fascinate me as much. When I went to see The Dark Knight in theaters the Watchmen trailer took me completely off guard. I had never heard of the Graphic Novel prior to that moment but I was immediately interested. The trailer and the look and feel of the world had a truly epic feel to it that I have never seen in a Superhero adventure story. It appeared to be a completely different world that I could have imagined yet the griminess of it seemed to be genuine. The Strangeness of the world that was being shown on screen was more like a Dramatic alternate history/Science Fiction story than an action film. I expected the film to be a Darker and more realistic take on superheros as promised But nothing could have prepared me for The Mindblowing and Unfathomably Epic cinematic experience that this was.

This for me is an Unquestionable Masterpiece. Not Only does this meet every requirement necessary to make a good movie in the history of Mankind But it goes much further and deeper than that and presents the audience with Moral questions that most films are too afraid to ask. My experience watching this film is unique and an experience I have only had for a few films. In my opinion their is no Superhero film that can match this except The Dark Knight. It is because of This that I have committed to Reading The Graphic Novel in its entirety. After finishing it I could not be more pleased with How This turned out as an Adaptation. It did the book Justice in my opinion. One of my Favorite films and Books of all Time. It gripped me like no story has ever done.

The Casting is Spot on and absolutely Brilliant. Malin Akerman looks like she walked straight out of the novel. She fits the caricature of Laurie very well. Matthew Goode Performance was very intriguing and handled with perfect Finesse. Many fans complain that his performance was took dark and brooding and portrayed the character as completely evil. While I can certainly see where they are coming from I must respectfully disagree. The Character was certainly more sinister than he was in the Novel but I think Goode managed to convey a perfect counterbalance to that by also being friendly and charismatic at times. He was also very self reflexive and took responsibility for his actions at the end of the Film. He was actually less corrupt than some of the other characters until he decided to take matters into his own hands. Patrick Wilson was the perfect Nite Owl. I could feel the actors enthusiasm and passion for the Character in every single emotion that he conveyed. Jeffery Dean Morgan was born to play The Comedian. The life and Raw emotion that he brought to the role is Uncanny. Even Better than all of the actors above is Billy Crudup as Dr.Manhattan. The Man is a legend. Take all of these amazing Performances and multiply it times ten and you get Jackie Earl Haley's Performance as my favorite character Rorschach. I would put Jackie's performance on the same level as Health Ledger as the Joker. He was beyond mesmerizing and somewhere along the way he forgot who he was and became Rorschach. Every scene that he was in was a Joy or frightening to watch and every line he delivered will be quoted as an iconic classic. Nearly everything about the film was amazing from the cinematography to the production design and the obsessive attention to detail. The Soundtrack is unreal and The Score is truly moving. The Ending is the one aspect of this film that while being Faithful to the spirit of the Novel received many major changes all of which I thought were for the better. I am a huge fan of the Squid but Framing Dr.Manhatten in order to create world peace makes just as much sense. Also having Nite Owl see his old Partners death is much more fair to the character. It add to what was in my opinion the best scene in the movie and one of the best Tragic Death scenes that I have ever seen in my life. A lot of people were upset that nite Owl beats up Ozy after this scene and tells him that He "Mutilated Humanity". I didn't think he ruined the ambiguity of the movie at all. I think people think this because Nite Owl/Daniel is the heart of the story and many people see it through his eyes. He tells OzyMandias that he was wrong in blind fury and beats him up(which was awesome) but When continues life quietly with Silk Spectre he begins to consider that maybe the plan worked out for the Best. Overall this film is an Unforgettable experience unlike any other. If you are too immature to see a Naked blue man than skip it. But if you looking for a thought provoking and geo political film that questions whether or not Heroes can exist in a real an complicated world than look no further.

The Perfect way to experience one of the greatest Stories ever told
1 July 2012
I wasn't sure what to expect from this motion comic. I bought it with The Ultimate cut edition of the live action film. When I first began to watch it I wasn't sure it was going to be very good. The animation took a while to get used to and the use of the same male narrator for the female voices was jarring but by the end of the series I was utterly blown away. The Narrator is incredible talented at bringing the voices of our most beloved characters to life. Each voice is so unique that after a while I forgot that it was the same Narrator for all of the characters. His best voice acting was for my two favorite characters Rorschach and Dr.Manhattan. His performance as those two characters was so deeply compelling that I felt like I was watching a live action show when I watched their back story centric episodes.

Everything about this feels exactly like the graphic Novel. The animation is great and feels like a walking, Breathing comic. Most of the brilliant and poetic words from the novel is delivered Beautifully. The Motion comic is split into two episodes representing each Chapter in the plot. It runs about 5 and a half hours long.

King Kong (2005)
9/10
One of the best monster movies ever made!
30 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
To say that I had high expectations for this film would be an understatement. This is easily one of my most anticipated films of all time. I was dieing to see this more than people wanted to see Star Wars Phantom Menace. I have always been fascinated by the story of Kong but when I discovered that Peter Jackson was directing the 2005 remake I expected nothing less than an excellent film. The Lord of the Rings trilogy are some of the greatest films ever produced in my opinion. If it wasn't for Jackson I wouldn't be as much of a film fan as I am today. I believe that Jackson was the perfect director for this film and this is clear evidence that he is one of the most imaginative auteur's in Hollywood today. King Kong is an Epic and beautiful motion picture filled with fantastic performances and Jaw dropping visuals. It is an absolute Masterpiece that is worth watching more than once in order to grasp the story and the brilliant themes in it.

The opening of King Kong 2005 features an surreal, vibrant and hilarious montage of 1933 New York and the world of vaudeville. Its sets the stage of the movie perfectly and the visuals effects are Stunning. Peter Jackson makes the audience feel like we are participates in this world and makes it come alive. We are introduced to The lead character of the movie Ann Darrow played masterfully by Naomi Watts. She is a former vaudeville actress who has lost her job and is searching for a better life. Peter Jackson did an excellent job with making the audience sympathize with this woman. Her character is much more developed and fleshed out than in original Kong film. We discover that this is a deeply tragic character who is desperate and has no one whom she cares about in her life anymore. The other major human characters in this film are Carl Denham and Jack Driscoll. Carl Denham is played by the much underrated Jack Black. He brings so much energy and life into the role that I was immediately drawn into his character and at first I wanted him to succeed in his ambitions. His character is very witty and has a few scenes that made me chuckle but overall this is Jack Black's most serious role to date. He delivers many of the best lines in the entire film with a shocking amount of finesse. Adrien Brody plays Jack Driscoll and creates one of the most likable characters in the film. He seems to be an average man but throughout the film he demonstrates an insane amount of courage all in the pursuit of the woman he loves most Ann Darrow. He does a great job displaying his affection for Ann as he does doing many of the physical stunts in the film.

The characters are the backbone of any good monster movie and boy does this film create amazing characters. Jimmy and Hayes are not essential to the plot in any way but they do add to the themes that the story represents. Hayes desire to protect jimmy mirrors Kong's desire to protect Ann. The boat scenes were suspenseful and did a fantastic job building a lot of emotional angst. A good monster flick doesn't over exploit the monster in the opening because that ruins the sense of mystery and wonder behind the story. I love the development of Ann's relationship to Jack in those scenes. I thought that the character development of Carl Denham was very deep. He knows that he is leading all of the characters to their doom but his desire for fame compels him down that dark road. Once Ann and the other characters arrive on Skull Island the movie becomes a roller-coaster ride. The Natives on the island were brilliantly realized and some of the most frightening people I have ever seen in my life. The Visual effect are absolutely spectacular and so are the action scenes. The battle between Kong and the V-rex is one of the most badass fights scenes in a monster movie ever. But what what really elevates this film to the next level is the characterization of Kong and the motion capture by Andy Serkis.

This is the most fully realized version of Kong. The Character is more larger than life than ever before. I couldn't have dreamed of a better performance. His facial expressions are so vibrant that one can disifer exactly what he is thinking. The scenes with Kong looking out into the sunset in wonder and awe are some of the most impeccable filmed scenes that I have ever seen in my life. In these scenes we feel Kong's loneliness and Isolation. Kong doesn't fit in with any of the other animals. This is the only place where he can feel at peace. Andy Serkis and Naomi Watts both deserve Oscar's for their performances. The Ending is beyond tragic. It is heart felt and emotional damaging. To feel so much sympathy for an ape and then to lose him in the dramatic way possible is an unreal experience. This movie made an impression on me like no other. It is one of the best films that I have seen in the cinema's

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997–2003)
10/10
An Absolutely Masterpiece that demands rediscovering. One of the greatest and Deepest works Popular Fiction has ever produced!
7 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Buffy The Vampire slayer is without a doubt one of the greatest and most addictive shows that i have ever seen in my life. It has everything that a great story needs including horror, romance, action, comedy, fantasy and drama. This is one of the first amazing vampire shows and probably one of the best. The show tells the story of a young high school student that is destined to be a destroyer of demons, vampires and just about any other monster that you can think of. Buffy Summers is a high school student who when faced with insurmountable odds comes out on top every time. Make no mistake though, this series is about more than just a teen-aged blonde chick fighting evil spooky creatures. It is an incredibly moving plot about friendship, love, and the dangers of adolescence. The show is loaded with tear-jerking moments and unforgettable characters. I believe that Buffy has something for everyone.

Season 1- Great opening season. The Scooby gang form an unbreakable bond from the moment you witness them on screen together. Xander and Giles are great and the character of Willow is absolutely adorable. The episode when every student's nightmares came true is a particular favorite of mine. The Master was an amazing villain.

Season 2- An Absolute nightmare in the greatest sense of the word. This season showcased some of the best of what this series has to offer. This season made Buffy one of the most iconic and legendary heroes ever!

Season 3- Absolutely loved the character Faith and the Rivalry between the two slayers was impeccable. The mayor was great. One of the nicest and the most comical bad guys ever. The episodes "The Prom" and "Graduation" will make you shed tears for Buffy Summers.

Season 4: Spike is My Favorite character in the series and I just love that he becomes a regular cast member in this season. The episode Hush is one of the greatest achievements in recent memory. I also though that the season finale was absolutely fascinating.

Season 5: Perhaps one of the greatest tests for our Beloved Heroine."The Body" was absolutely brilliant. "The Gift" is probably the best episode of the entire series in my opinion.

Season 6: Wonderful. I loved that The Buffy and Spike relationship took a lot of surprising and unexpected turns. Fans who trash this season do so at their own peril. The trio were not the Big bad of the season. Willow was clearly the big bad and the best in the entire series IMO. The scene when willow breaks down and curls in Xander's arms at the end of the season was just heart breaking.

Season 7: Criminally underrated and totally on par with the rest of the series. Buffy was not boring for a single moment of this season. Her speech in which she exclaims "If they want and Apocalypse then we'll give them one." is one of the most empowering and inspiring lines of dialog that I have ever heard. It made me want to cheer and tackle all of my inner demons. The season Finale was the definition of Badass.

I began this series during the summer and I just finished it a few months ago. I fell horrible for waiting so long to watch this fantastic show. Joss Whedon needs to find a way to release this series on Blu Ray or something in order to give this series more exposure. This show is every bit as relevant today as it was when it was created. It's the greatest coming of age story ever told! oh and I agree with the fans that rebooting the series without Whedon is an horrendous idea. It would break my heart to see such a classic series disrespected in such a way. Buffy The Vampire Slayer is my favorite Television series of all time!
