'Shitsurakuen': jôbafuku onna harakiri (1990)
Call me sick, but it wasn't realistic enough
Always looking for movies that can still shock me like Guinea Pig: Flower of Flesh and Blood or August Underground: Mordum did, I stumbled upon this short movie of a woman performing ritual suicide.
Yes, that's the "story", a woman performing ritual suicide. With a setup like that you can assume the director wanted to at least shock his audience, but he fails miserably because of the bad special effects (we never see a wound, just lots of fake blood and what is probably animal intestines).
Well, maybe he wanted to make a fake snuff movie, like the movies mentioned earlier? This doesn't work either because of the many camera angles and the artsy beginning and ending of the movie.
Having said this, it's still at the very least an interesting movie, worth hunting down if you like rare and weird stuff, and it has some nice atmospheric noise music, but it's definitely not for everyone.

The Stink of Flesh (2005)
OK zombie movie
All I can really say about this move is that is was OK. Nothing special, but still watchable. The zombies and gore were pretty well done, but the acting was passable for the most part, but the "story" just didn't work for me, although i liked the "forlorn", apocalyptic atmosphere..
An attempt was made at being original by putting a lot of sex in the movie, but it didn't work for me (didn't mind it either).
(spoiler) And what was up with the little kid? I love plot twists but this one didn't make any sense at all.. there was absolutely no reason for him to turn against everyone... I would probably have liked the movie a lot better if this was explained somewhere.
BUT if you're a zombie fan like me any zombie movie is good enough and this one surely delivers on the gore, the most important part of any zombie movie.

Skinned Deep (2004)
Pleasantly surprised
I was watching this movie expecting an amateurish low budget horror flick like Ozone - Attack of the Redneck Mutants or Zombie 90: Extreme Pestilence, but this one is definitely a lot better than those movies.
(minor spoilers) Among other things, we get a midget throwing dinner plates as if they were shurikens, an elderly biker gang, and a Texas Chainsaw Massacre inspired mutant redneck family. Not your usual slasher stuff. The movie also has a few Troma-like jokes, which are actually pretty funny without being too silly.
Since this is low-budget, the camera work and acting are bad (although Warwick Davis as Plates is brilliant).
A fun, weird, original B-horror movie.
Rating: 7/10 (subtract at least 2 points if you're not into low budget stuff, but then you will probably have never heard of this movie)
