Carnivore (2000)
great independent film!
okay, all you need to know is this movie was filmed in late 1988-1991, it was in production from 91-00 before it was finally released... yes, this IS a B movie, and anyone who is a fan should have to see it. because this breaks through in independent filming ,great special effects, very low budget, yet still mildly entertaining, i'd say better than most new horror films, the only reason it's corny is cause it WAS actually filmed like 17 years ago! still, for it's time, very well done, and from just average people trying to make a swing, good plot, good acting, nice effects, not a typical horror film about vampires either. a movie with a lot of feeling and effort and that's what made it absolutely astonishing! this did not bore me one bit, did not have any cheesy one liners, slightly humorous, good wardrobe and props and acceptable acting for sure. best B movie i've seen in a very long time.
Unseen Evil 2 (2004)
worst movie ever!
i must say, i am a fan of B movies. me and a few friends rented 6... yes, you heard correctly, 6 B movies in one night.. this was the last one we watched, i fell asleep... not once... 5 times!!! so i decided to watch it again in the morning... i fell asleep again! this movie is terrible. worst plot, worst acting, worst movie ever created, period! crappy special effects and thousands of terribly placed cut scenes.... why does the one chick always have a smile on her face? no one knows, no one should care, just don't watch this movie! - should not be considered even a B movie for that, i want my 3$ back! I will never be the same person again.
Alone in the Dark (2005)
It was a great movie
I voted it a 10 on the basis that It followed the video game so well!!!! How many movies based on video games can do that... well, maybe a few, but hey, I was a big fan of the game series and I think anyone else who was will completely appreciate this movie. The monsters, the music, the environment around is completely like the game. I remember the final scene of this movie looking exactly like the final scene in the first game... for all of you core gamers out there who enjoyed the game, watch the movie, it followed it well... everyone else, well you have no clue what's going on. You cannot watch a movie based on a video game if you have no clue what the game was like 10 years ago! yes, i believe it's been almost that long. anyhow, watch the movie, judge for yourself... it's not as bad as rated.
Against the Ropes (2004)
Worst fight scenes ever
The boxing scenes in this movie make it unbearable to watch. There is no point in a movie about a woman who wants to be a boxing manager. Where's the real plot? You would think the movie would revolve around the boxer himself and not his manager. There is nothing exciting about this movie, and no suspense. I originally started watching because i thought I would see meg ryan in skimpy boxing shorts or something similar. What i seen was her standing near a ringside yelling at a lightweight boxer called Luther. They try to glorify this how? They could have at least made it a heavyweight bout. The fight scenes at the end is of the lowest quality. For hockey fans, This movie is like watching the AHL from an assistant coaches position... I mean sure there is no NHL right now, but there are still Rocky movies... go rent one of those instead. This movie is horrid! And then they applause Meg near the end for managing Luther to the title... who cares! she didn't even do anything! Not recommended at all. I love the big glorified ending "Jackie became the best female boxing manager of all time"... WOW, really, who cares?
Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man (1991)
Stellar movie! I loved it
These guys play a great role as Harley and Marlboro. It is a great action / comedy for anyone out there who likes this kind of genre... I really can't explain much without ruining the movie. But this one is very unique, because Harley and his friends are so extremely calm over everything they do, it makes this movie absolutely unique. Some great one liners in this movie as well. I definitely recommend watching it. A true Classic. and it definitely deserves more than a 5, i give it an 8.5 at least... People today are warped with all the new 04 movies and cannot appreciate a good classic anymore, It seems that anything made before 2003 gets bad ratings, but i feel anything made after 99 have had too much computer graphics done and lack the true skills of good acting. Everyone is into fantasy these days and no one can appreciate a good old style fashion action. This is one of the last good ones out there. i don't know how people can watch Crap with more computer effects and blue screens than actual acting. Matrix is a good example... if anyone wants a good keeanu movie, watch point blank or bill and teds. keep the classics alive by renting this one and don't stop here, check out other greats, like "One Man Army" starring Dolph Lundgren or "American Ninja." starring Michael Dudikoff
