Clarkson's Farm (2021)
Absolutely Brilliant! It's Worth Having Amazon Prime Just for This!
Totally absorbing and great entertainment! My wife and I watched all episodes and found that as one finished we were greatly anticipating the next.
Technically a superb production - both camerawork and location sound. Also a special mention for the Post Prod dept - the Editors and the brilliant sound mix by the Series Dubbing Mixer (I can judge his work critically through my past work as Senior Dubbing Mixer at the BBC in London and being a BAFTA sound judge!). The music greatly complimented the action too - and, sadly, you can't often say that these days!
The supporting characters were, without exception, perfectly portrayed and particular mention must be made of Kalib whose down-to-earth approach nicely offset Jeremy's brashness. "Cheerful Charlie" was also excellent at dealing with Jeremy's ideas and lack of expertise.
Having seen the last episode yesterday evening, we feel a void in our viewing expectations: we were sad when it finished. Please, Amazon, ask Jeremy and the whole team (both in front of, and behind, the cameras) to make another series - It's Gold!
Footloose in Oxford and York (2020)
Well Researched and Informative Documentary
Having seen a number of Debra and Dave's Footloose documentaries, this must be one of their best researched and well shot of the series. Good points: Debra is excellent in recording her PTCs which are delivered in an informal, but informative way. Dave's camerawork is of course technically very good (did he also operate the drone camera?). Not so good points: we felt it was rather too long and it would have been helpful to have more views of the map so that the viewer could understand the relative locations of the buildings. As an editor and post production sound mixer myself (ex-BBC-tv, London, like Dave!), I felt that the music could have been more tastefully introduced and faded out of the mix and the latter could have done with more good location SFX to give an aural flavour of the locations. In the edit some of the shots were too short and didn't come to a rest before cutting to the next. The quality of Debra's narration recording was excellent. Overall a really enjoyable video to watch. JH.
Footloose in the Cotswolds: Part 1 (2016)
Most Informative & Enjoyable. Well Put Together
My wife and I will be staying in the Cotswolds (at HPB Buckland Court) in a month's time and found your guided tour excellent. We liked Debra's friendly delivery and clear voiceovers and Dave's camerawork (thanks for using a tripod whenever possible!) and good un-gimmicky editing. As a retired senior BBC tv sound designer (31 years at Television Centre in London), I noticed some ways your soundtrack could be improved: it was OK but could be much better! Great to see a personal mic being used, however! John Hale
