Jun & Jun (2023)
Totally enjoyed.
Previous reviewer was a little hard. As a story, romance and problems of a square relationship it was fun. It brought in other emotions like jealousy, possessiveness, hiding a secret love, unrequited love, directness by one lover, misunderstanding which can always put a potential relationship in danger until a timely good explanation. The present at the end was very funny and brought up the newness of a relationship again. I enjoyed the actors and series a lot. I would recommend it as a good BL series. The rest of the staff must be a bit blind though, and how is that going to work going forward?

Top rate and fair adherence to original Dumas story
The Three Musketeers story was written by Alexandre Dumas about the court of Louis XIII of France. This version does pay homage to that story but stands extremely well in the Korean Joseon 17C era.
Examples: Korean King = petulant Louis XIII, Crown Prince = Athos, Ah Min-seo = Aramis, both with religious backgrounds, Yang Dong-kun = Portos, carouser warrior, Park Dal-hy, new royal guard from the countryside = D'Artagnan, Pan-Shwe = Planchet, the squire, Crown Princess = Queen Anne, losing a hairpin not jewels, new royal guard Park Dal-hy adopted by "the Three Musketeers" = D'Artagnan,. Kim Ja-jeom = a secular Richelieu, Jo Mi-ryung as the deadly Milady, Choi Myung-gil, a teacher = Captain M de Treville.
Little details from the book include D'Artagnan takes a very old horse to the capital, which dies on the way, He finds his love is married ( in the book this was Constance), he is attracted to Milady but is smart to avoid her.
The differences with the book make this more valid and enjoyable in the Korean context. It was an extremely fun K-drama, which no doubt left the audience wanting more and such has the world seen similar companion pieces, but none work as well as the first book, The Three Musketeers.

If only it weren't the truth
Great story, based on truth. As good as any Hollywood movie, incredible sets in mines etc, acting, warfare. Never thought I would see some of these actors so down and dirty. It must have been gut wrenching to make. Harrowing rendition of what power and greed obsessed people will do to others. There are a few measly moments of happiness, which has to provide optimism for the audience. Of course those who suffered want reparations today, but will that ever happen? Never have I so much wanted the atomic bombs dropped after seeing this movie, even knowing how many Koreans were killed by them as well. A ghastly time in human history.
My Princess (2011)
Potential wasted
At first I thought the writing needed to be tighter but by the middle it got stupid. Great cast who must have felt let down too. Second male lead had no real point .
Awful female dressing, skirt length and dreadful shoes especially the director. Totally unsuitable for her part.
Probably should have been 12 episodes at most. In fact the directors part was so unclear and overdone at the same time. And she is so stony faced that she comes off a job character.
Why do these reviews have to be so long especially when the series didn't need to torn apart anymore. Still 72 characters to go and i can't write anymore. 17 to go.

Really sweet film
Just a sweet love story with a few twists and turns showing how simple and pure first love can be.
Highly recommend it for the two leads, especially him as he needed to get a major lead under his belt, and who wouldn't want to watch these two beautiful teenagers fall in love?
At first I thought it didn't need alternative female to play when older, but it made sense,I suppose, as there is an time gap.
Frustrating piece of explanation left out, but it isn't really necessary in the nature of the story.
I would rewatch this, if I were in the mood for a sweet love story and two beautiful people to look at.
Where the Crawdads Sing (2022)
Old fashioned classic
I bet the paid critics will say it is not enough in this that and the other.
BUT the theater audiences will enjoy it, tell their friends and so will they.
Sometimes this is enough!
Juvenile Justice (2022)
Challenges juvenile justice
This drama stayed with me in my head. It challenges our views. The acting of all was superb; I particularly recommend the juveniles. The downside for me was investigation by the police and therefore the court performances - criminally unjust!
Bimilui Soop (2017)
Rivalry
The second series is about the rivalry and disputes between the police and prosecution services, continuing one theme from the first season. Always interesting and captivating.
There is however a serious lack of compassion given to the kidnapped victim's family. I hope this isn't the state of Korean police services as there seems no protection from the media at all; I was as shocked by this as by anything else in the drama.
Cheese in the Trap (2016)
Where is series 2
If ever there should be a second series, this one was crying out for it! Everyone's stories needed another stage of conclusion. From Seol to Jeong's dad. Even ten years on could even include a few flashbacks to where series 1 left off.
I go aback to this series again and again. It needed more later.

Could have been so much better
Good idea, good cast.
But script was not tight enough? Could have been a least two episodes shorter. Too much contemplating of navel by too many characters makes it seem like no one knows what they want. Bad editing - nobody checked story continuity, and staring into midair by characters could have been shortened. Frankly I wouldn't want either king as they both dither every episode. Romance could have been intensified.

This could be so much better
It is only through determination to see it all that I have persevered through to episode 11. Probably 6 plus episodes could be dropped as they to little to develop plot and nothing for character. Female lead takes a long time to realize how she has wasted her life on lead number 1, and then nothing in writing shows why lead 2 is not right, so she comes off as a dumbass! And it goes on and on like this. Sub stories better handled but dragged out out over so many episodes. (Good) Comedy starts to be introduced in episode 10 and it is such a relief. This could be so much better. And k-drama generally is. Just exhausting and haven't even got to the end!
The Magnificent Seven (2016)
Can't take my eyes offa you!
I know this film is based in the US Wild West, but why can't I take my eyes off Lee Byung Ho as Billy Rocks? How about taking one or two Americans back to Asia for a return movie? Don't have to learn the language.

Sustaining and improving
Just saw episode 4. Very happy that the script And story are getting better and better. Good character development and great comic scenes, as at the clinic. Really enjoying the series.

But I liked it !
This is not the sort if film that I like at all, but I liked it ...a lot! The two leads are what drew me to watching it. The intensity was evident. The acting was out of this world to feel their terror, their fleeting memories, and their depression. Yoo Ah Ihn never fails no matter what he tries; Park Shin Hae played something completely different and it did her good to be able to get such recognition.
