Moneyball (2011)

Exceptional

I would start this by saying I have exactly zero interest in Baseball. I'm from the U.K. I don't understand it, it seems super boring, and it looks like it takes forever..... But what a great movie! Thankfully Moneyball doesn't spend much time on the game of baseball, but what it does spend time on is really well written and played out on screen by an incredible cast.

Moneyball is well directed and both Pitt and Hill give great performances, elevating what could have quite easily been just a good movie to a truly great one. In short Moneyball is a masterclass in film making, a joy to watch.

Almost perfect

This is an incredibly well written, beautifully directed series. One which I cannot recommend highly enough. With the exception of one very minor side story that I'm not sure really added anything this show is an amazing example of what makes great TV.

The script is incredible. There are very few words that are wasted, and the way the story develops is a thing of beauty.

I can only imagine how proud Tim and the team behind this must be with the masterpiece.

It was an emotional rollercoaster, but an absolute joy to watch. I wish I could delete my memory of it to fully enjoy it again.

Excellent

This show is so far perfect. The story is intriguing, the visuals are beautiful and the acting is incredible.

The previous reviewer who said the violence is unnecessary has missed the point in my opinion. The violence is very much needed. It is there to make you feel uncomfortable, because it is that inner dark side and battle between good and evil (and more often than not the middle ground between) that is at the very epicenter of the human condition. This is what the show is often commenting on and this is what makes this show so interesting, thought provoking and ultimately entertaining.

If it carries on in the same vein we will have a modern day classic on our hands.
