Better than the original??
3 January 2005
It been more than a year since i saw Love Undercover 1. The movie i remember was not that great at all. I didn't like Daniel Wu at that time because his Cantonese sucks and the storyline didn't interest me. Though i did though all the supporting cast was good. Back than i probably watch all the good thing and i had high expectation for this movie which disappoint me. Well now i watch a lot of romantic comedy and am ready to see this with low expectation. I must say this movie was very funny, funnier than the first. Except Raymond Wong's role, he got wasted in this movie. I gotta admit the storyline is kind of stupid, but it set itself well at the end, when everything connected. The part of the movie that i hate the most is what are those police doing all day? All i see them doing is helping Daniel Wu's dad out, i don't think they are even on duty. Though i have to admit, Daniel Wu dad three old school buddies who just gotten out of jail, they were hilarious. Better than the main plot line it seen. The bad guy in this movie seem very serious in the beginning but at the end they look pretty goofy. Especially his band of thieves. You can tell in this movie Daniel Wu Cantonese has gotten a lot better between the two movie. I think i might watch the first one again, since everyone say it better than the second one. But there still a lot of movie i want to rewatch. From the ending, there might be a third sequel to this, if Joe Ma ran out of idea on other new romantic comedy.

Coming of age film
22 December 2004
The movie star many young faces that i don't know, except for the head of the family play by Eric Tsang. He open a noodle store, in a bad location with everything falling apart. Soon they renovated and now they have to make the noodle taste better. After that the movie contain a love story, between Lawrence Chou, the son of ERic tsang, and a girl who used to work in that place before they open. They seem to be in love and happy at the beginning but soon Lawrence Chou start to fall for her sister a little bit. Another sideline plot revolve around ERic Tsang smaller daughter, who like to hang around with a poor kid who was the first real customer to the shop. That little kid think because he is poor that she doesn't want to be with him.

The movie is not bad, and provide some neat plot development. The movie outline doesn't provide any big conflict/twist, though this wasn't really a setback. The acting was done marvelous, Eric Tsang play a optimistic guy who even though he know the business not going to be successful he still have a fun time doing it. Lawrence Chou Chun-Wai, his first major role, was nominated for best new actors. What should be noted is Kelly Chen cameo, she is hilarious has the girl who really like Lawrence Chou, she is known has ugly ducking. She sang a couple of song in the movie which was beautiful.

The main romance, is kind of similar from those formulaic script (that can be seen in those Joe Ma directed film), but the level of seriousness is more realistic than those movie.

Okay film
17 December 2004
It been 3 years since they were pair up again by Johnnie To, before that they were a couple (though not leading couple) in Infernal Affair and Magic Kitchen. Well since Johnnie To is directing i had high expectation for this movie, since Love on a Diet and Needing You is one of my favorite romantics film.

Plot: Sammi and Andy is a couple and are thieves, which they recently sold 170 million in diamond. Suddenly, Andy Lau call for a divorce because "they can't split the money evenly". Of course that not the official reason, and you wouldn't find out why until the end. 2 years later, and we see Sammi Cheng dating a rich kid, but she's not really in it for love has she still in love with his ex-husband (andy Lau). She here because she wanted the guy family jewel, a necklace. So, she planned to stealing it, but somehow Andy Lau stole it before she did. Now we see Sammi Cheng desperately begging Andy Lau on where the necklace.

The movie was surprising because it wasn't really a romantic comedy, which i seriously was hoping for. The movie wasn't has good has the 2 previous movie they made together (probably because Wai Ka Fai is not co-directing), but it was still above average HK romantic films. Sammi Cheng is a gold digger, who rather has jewellery than love. Andy Lau is a character who is smarter than Sammi Cheng and always wins in the games they played. They really have good chemistry together, which really made this film more enjoyable. The plot is pretty good with some nice interesting twist and character involvement.

The movie is worth watching because Johnnie To doesn't make bad film, though this year he didn't make any spectacular film. The really down side is they didn't play the song that Andy Lau sang, which I really like!

Best Jackie chan Film in a long time!
4 December 2004
Benny Chan who directed this film, is a very successful commercial director, who has made many great big budget HK movie (like last year Heroic Duo). Benny Chan, also made a movie with Jackie call WHo Am I and that was also a very entertaining movie.

This movie, has many new star and young star like Charlene Choi, Nic Tse, Daniel Wu, Andy On and so on (rich and powerful parent). I wish his son should be in this movie to play one of the bad guy.

The baddie here are rich bored people with nothing to do, except Daniel Wu the leader of the bandit who rob the major bank for fun. In this movie i actually wanted them to win because those bad guy were so smart (has you will see in the beginning). Jackie Chan acted marvelous and i won't be surprise if he getting a nomination for that. By far his best acting in a long time, like the part where his girlfriend was strap in bomb and they were talking about their dying romance. Daniel Wu play another marvelous job and his acting is for sure getting better. This guy going to make many great film has time goes. The action in this movie is amazing considering Jackie Chan age, and it seem like Nic Tse wanted to be the next JC, cuz he done some of the stunt himself. Charlie Young who play JC girlfriend return after 7 years of no acting. She still look pretty, exactly too young for JC i might add, in this movie her brother was under Jackie Chan team, but of course the bandit (call themself x-games) kill all his team including her brother. Therefore JC feel ashame for that and sour their relationship. Charlene Choi (one of the twins) is also in this movie but she play a very minor role but still a funny character like at the ending. She suppose to play Nic Tse character.

Right from the beginning to the end, this film was superb and by far the first film HK film this year i would give it 9 out of ten (One nite in Mangkok come close with 8.5/10). Watching these kind of film make me wonder why he, Jet Li and CYF don't come back to HK and make those kind of amazing films.

Worse than the first one!
15 November 2004
The CGI effect and the costume and production value is certainly better than the first one thanks to the success of Vampire Effects. Though what this movie lack is some good male acting (except Daniel Wu) and the whole idea of the battle of sexes was lame. In the first movie i thought Jackie Chan cameo was hilarious in this one he was cool. The fight scene between him and Donnie Yen was awesome, i don't recall them fighting before. But wish they did. Experience actors like Ekin Cheng and Edisen Chen for sure did a whole better job than newcomer JC Chan and Wilson Chen. Those people lack emotion and very one dimensional at this point.

This movie was boring thank largely to the twins acting and their cuteness. It was entertaining but the fight scene weren't has good has the first one (too much CGI). I have to say the first one edge out the second one in term of plot and more better actors. BTW Tony Leung Ka Fai (who particularly in half of the movies this years) did a terrific job in this movie, he's sooo funny. He need more of those roles like back in the 90s.

Xanda (2004)
Rocky type film
16 October 2004
This is like a Rocky clone.

What i like: the film character is very realistic and the situation is on par with the real world and not the fake Hollywood crap. For one thing, the main character is very influence by western and not that kind of hero we see. He like an ordinary person with a dream of getting a car, cellphone etc. Some Tsui Hark filming which is solely missing since he's stop acting. The fighting was awesome and entertaining and very realistic too.

What i hate: The acting was pretty bad, the over the top fighting, they should make it more like Rocky camera angle and not keep moving around. The cantonese dubbing was pretty horrible. Also the acting (which i heard they are real life xanda fighter and not actors) was pretty bad, but i can't blame them. The film look low budget, has a Tsui Hark film it should look something glamorous and not like those Fruit Chan film (not that his movie are boring, in fact i love Fruit Chan movie).

Of course Rocky was a much better film, but this movie was at least not boring.

Heat Team (2004)
Somewhat typical cop film
4 October 2004
Plot: Eason Chan is K.C, Chan and Y.T. Lee is Aaron Kwok, both are very smart cop, who both were assign to interpol. The only thing that make them different is woman. K.C Chan is known for courting with a lot of woman and Y.T. Lee get nervous around woman. The case for this movie is about a international thief who come to Hong Kong to steal, a diamond necklace worth over 10 million US. Anyway, Yumiko Cheng who is engage with a fertilizer mogul, soon for in love with KC Chan.

The movie is occasionally funny (though nothing laugh out loud, more like giggles) and the action with pretty good. Both person act their role pretty good, though their chemistry were that good. I don't feel like they trust each other even at the end. There were also some bad supporting actor, like Danny Lee and the kingpin of triad. The movie was entertaining, but not engaging. There wasn't really anything wrong with this movie, but it seem like it lack the goodness when watching this movie. Maybe it is the acting or not to engage into the cop story (they spend more time arguing and their personal issue than on the case).

BTW The movie is call heat team, cuz Hong Kong is having a very high temperature and the interpol office air conditioner is broken.

Throw Down (2004)
Unusual Actors in Johnnie To film
22 September 2004
For some reason this year, Johnnie To has hired actor that rarely or even be seen in his dark artistic movie. Just like Breaking News, this movie start Louis Koo (who work with him in Love FOr All Season, great movie BTW), Aaron Kwok, Cherrie Ying and Tony Leung Ka Fai.

In this movie he prove he can make a bad actor act good in this, has for the case of Aaron Kwok. Louis Koo unlike most of his film, rarely smile, has he portray a dark character he done a decent job. The movie contain the same moody feeling of late his other night hong kong like The Mission, PTU etc. The film revovle around the character, like those film and the judo was a prop. The judo fighting was film pretty impressive and enjoyable. Cherrie Ying for some reason, does not look hot in this movie, but her appearance scene (where she eating noodles and the owner keep throwing her stuff out the house) was special. I believe Louis Koo doesn't want to fight because he lost his passion. Nothing satisfy him anymore, not even money or booze.

I have to say this movie was better acted and the ending is better than breaking News.

Exciting ending
5 September 2004
This storyline somewhat mimics A Better Tomorrow 2, with an awesome ending, and a north American angle (except this one take place in Vancouver). Except this one doesn't have the better actor nor is the storyline any good. Plot: A head of the Chinese mafia in Canada kills some Itialian Mafia Boss in front of the police, therefore he went to jail for more than a decade (doesn't say). He left his daughter in Hong Kong, so after he was released from jail he wants to reunited with his daughter. He soon finds out that her daughter escaped the orphan home and his only clue is the other girl who escaped with her. But that girl has her own problem.

Andy Lau is in like 10 mins of the film... this wasn't that bad of a movie, with a excellent gun-fu ending, just up right there with ABT 2 (but less realistic). The storyline is not that good, it was mediocre, and wasn't as touching has ABT 2. Though the baddie is more unrealistic in this movie but he is very evil (played by Simon Yam). He is a character that not man of his word. The acting is not that good compared to ABT either, with everyone acting unrealistic (well maybe except the main character). There wasn't anything brilliant in this movie, but i do like the location in Canada. In the beginning, in the Canada warfare between Itailian and Chinese, that was just hilarious. It soooooooo stupid, and the interview from the mafia boss from reporter is stupid too.

A boring love story
6 August 2004
Plot: A bunch of screenwriter (William So, Jo Koo and Sylvia Chang) want to make a movie about young romance. It was a semi-autobiography of Sylvia Chang love life. Who is play by the beautiful Gigi Leung, her best friend is Karen Mok. At the beginning we find out both of them fall in love with Ho-Jun (Play by the also handsome Takeshi Kaneshiro) in High School. Well Gigi Leung win the heart of Ho-Jun who plays the guitar, talked very little and hang out in parties together. Has time past a couple of things is reveal (which i don't want to spoil you guys).

I didn't like this movie at all, i found it to be boring and very slow. The plot didn't interested me at all (probably because i'm not into romance movie). Nothing there in the movie that really grab me and let me eagerly wanting to see the next scene. The only thing i find it appealing is the ending and the screenwriter scene that analysis the current love romance. I think the stars in this movie acted wonderful and convincing on their role respectively.

I can image people liking this movie because some part of the movie (like the threesome you thought it was but instead it is reverse), but i don't like the storytelling the directing and especially the plot.

The Eye 2 (2004)
A terrible film
26 July 2004
Comparing to the eye 1, this movie is horrible. It wasn't has scary has the first one, the storyline badly sucked and the mystery is pretty boring. Plot: Shu Qi play Joey Cheng, a rich depress girl who is in the midst of a breakup. She decided to take dozen of sleeping pill to suicide but was rescue. Because, of the near death experience, she can see dead people and a girl ghost is following her. On another note, she is pregnant to the boyfriend who she breakup too, will her baby be born?

The only thing good about this movie is the scary depressing act by Shu Qi. The suspense of this movie is equally has good has the eye, but it not has scary. After to the mid-way point, the movie start getting boring... I don't see where it was heading to make the movie worthwhile. Again directed by the Pang Brother, the direction and pace of these movie were well done. The supporting character contain a lot of no name who basically are non-essential (unlike the first one). The element is pretty much similar, but the ending wasn't has shocking.

If you want to see a good suspense thriller, go watch Koma, the new Anglica Lee movie (whom she was in the first eye). This movie did make a lot of money in Hong Kong, so there might be a third one.

A creative funny movies
15 July 2004
Edmond Pang first directorial debut (the director of Men Suddenly in Black, one of the finest black comedy since Shaolin Soccer), this movie talk about a assassin, name Bart (Eric Kot) whose business is slow due to Hong Kong bad economy. He finally got an assignment but with a catch, he must film the guy being killed. His first attempt was a failure, but was given another chance, this time he hired director assistance (Cheung Tat Ming) to film for him. This time it becomes a hit, and now many Rich Ladies/etc want to hire them. Not going into some subplot, the climax come when he must hit a triad boss.

This movie was very funny and creative, (just like Men Suddenly in Black, but not has good has that movie) but also has a major flawed. If they had filmed so many different killing tapes (with bart face in it), won't the cops at least get one of those tapes and arrest him with him on camera killing someone. Aside from that, it poke fun a lot on HK movies (about their preproduction and post production), which was very enjoyable and fun. The ending was stretch pretty long, but overall it was amusing to see what going on. The main actors in this movie are usually supporting actors; this movie doesn't really show they have the skills ready to be in the main actor roles. This movie is consider a black comedy because it is basically saying killing is good and that you can get away with it.

My favourite part in the movie is when there was another imitator assassin (Lam Suet) group, who offering stamp card and that if they kill more they save more. If you love Men Suddenly in Black (which talk about adultery is good), than this movie should also entertain has well.

Mighty Baby (2002)
Just has funny has La Brassiere
12 July 2004
What make this movie funny?? Well it doesn't contain the good script has those Stephen Chow films but it does contain his styles of comedy. Lau CHing Wan and Louis Koo dialogue (if you know cantonese listen carefully to what they are saying) and chemistry are top notch. There acting and face expression are sooooooo good (especially Louis Koo), this what make the movie so fun. The babies stars in this movie was excellent too. This movie is not has wacky has LA Brassiere, but they still manage the same level of laugh.

The only thing i found the story to be out of wack is the doctor trying to seduce Gigi Leung, and when Gigi Leung keep doing "Grrrr" thingy which doesn't connect to the story at all. Also a little thing i notices is Lau CHing Wan lover Sabrina (play by overrated actress Rosamund Kwan), at the beginning she is some clumsy and dumb, and at the end she became a sassy woman. That just doesn't make sense...

The movie is a must watch if you have watch all the Stephen Chow movies, the storyline can be nonsense but the stars here are fun and the movie is quite funny.

First Anticipated HK film of 2004
8 July 2004
Warning: Spoilers
Major Star (like Fantasia), with more than half the main crews act in Infernal Affairs.

Plot: We quickly find out that Hung's (play by Andy Lau) lieutenants (Eric Tsang, Tsui Siu-Keung and Miu Kiu-Wai) are not that loyal or that great. A rumour is spread that someone wanted to kill him. Luckily he has a trusted yes heartless friend Jacky Cheung, who is nickname Leftie because his left hand doesn't work. Well in this movie it constantly change back, to another 2 best friends who want to make it in the triad world. Turbo (Edisen Chen) and his boss (friend actually) Yik (Shawn Yu), are given an assignment to hit a boss. Back to the Andy Lau case, his wife just given birth to a son and Jacky Cheung want him to retired and live a happy life...

A very stylist and cool film, the director really makes these characters shine by making them look cool. It makes you want to be a gangster too. Edisen Chen acts an amazing job in this movie and is showing he got some skill and not just some black wannabe. Shawn Yue like IA 2, did another fine job, though the chemistry between them were not has well has Andy Lau and Jacky Cheung. The main storyline was beautifully handle and entertaining, but a lot of subplot was not mention which I think a sequel can answer those.

Spoiler

A scene I don't like about the movie is how Edisen Chen get his hand busted

Above Average Romance Film
23 June 2004
This film really exceed at this genres, a comedy romantic film. The start with Louis Koo and Gigi Leung relationship going near the end of their relationship, they went to a calm period to see can they get back. A Louis Koo problem is he doesn't understand romantics, thus he hire Charlene Choi to recognize his weakness. Along the way, we learn about his previous love relationship that went sour (all those girls are hot), meanwhile Gigi Leung met a few guys (along them Donnie Yen) along the way.

This movie is overall hilarious, yet some scene made you feel sad. That what make this movie sooo good, I had a few laugh out loud moment (Charlene Choi dress has a man, was a memorable scene). The best part about those scenes is the music, one of the best I had heard. The acting by Louis Koo was amazing, especially at the end when he cried, look very realistic. One of the best Louis Koo romantic films I had scene, you can tell he is getting better has an actor. I have to admit I learn something about romance from this film too, thus it also educational. Also the camera angle and visual was very nicely done, prop to the director. The only thing bad about this film is Gigi Leung use those annoying cried too much near the end.

Dante Lam Chiu-Yin and Chan Hing-Kai reteam with Louis Koo (before they film Naked Ambition which I heard was pretty good too). Also the trailer was very good too, they didn't reveal that much scene yet make you want to see more. Great visual, Great sound, great storytelling from Louis Koo and great education on romance make this a highly recommended film from me.

Koma (2004)
direct translation from Chinese is "help"
20 June 2004
Warning: Spoilers
Such great cast for this movie, the plot was well pace and well thought out. Though sometimes not amusing (the rich-poor thing i have heard enough), the movie was overall not bad. Karena Lam and Angelica Lee are one of the few brightest stars in the Hong Kong entertainment. This movie revolves around a maniac who kidnaps people (mostly woman) and steals their kidney. Well Angelica was one of the few people who saw the suspect and surely think it was Karena Lam. To complicate the story, Angelica is having sexual problem and is dating Andy Hui. Who happen to have a one night stand and old classmate of his Karena Lam. The police quickly thought Angelica was jealous that his boy slept with this woman and release Karena.

The acting in here was really good and believable. Beside of their good looks they know how to look crazy and serious when needed. This movie is suspenseful at time but not overly scary; for the most part the storyline was very well done. I ending twist I would have never thought which was brilliant, though they never tell us what happen to Andy Hui. I also like how they handle the 3 way love triangle, from the start to the end there feeling for each other has never change which I thought was very realistic. I think Karena did a better acting job than Angelica, so if this is HK movie time they better nominate her.

Not a pure horror film like you see in Hollywood, contain an interesting plot (rarely seen in horror film now-a-day) and a great ending. Totally recommend this film.

Stephen Fung directorial debut
14 June 2004
And a fine film he had made.

The plot was nothing special, a boss (Yuen Biao) whose dying wish was that his son (Daniel Wu) he never loved to take over for him. In this case, the son is gay and he brought along with his friend (play by Eason Chan) who purposely act has Hung's son.

What make this movie great is the pace of the film, the subplot and the movie is just hilarious. The Almost 3 way triangle between Karen Mok, Eason Chan and Dainel Wu was excellent. Seeing Law Kar-Ying was hilarious, and Chapman To was funny most of the time. The cameo from Nic Tse, Sammi Cheng and Jackie Chan was beautiful put, Sammi Cheng was super funny for her role. This movie is still not perfect, like the ending ( a fight scene) was cheesily, has in look fake, done. Also the gay aspect can be annoying at time. Nevertheless the flow of the movie work perfectly and the acting was above par. Also i like to give my head up on the triad angle was shot very well.

Stephen Fung show high potential to be a great director, with the help from Jackie Chan i can see he can make a lot more great film.

Wong Jing take on Sex and the City
5 June 2004
The Wong Jing direct, produce and write is back with his version of the popular HBO series, 'Sex and the City'. The stars power in this movie is great, we have Carina Lau has Selina the lead actress who is a psychoanalyst, who hang out with her friends (Athena Chu has a erotic story for woman, Yoyo Mung has a multi-restaurant owner who like the danger side, and Pinky Cheung whose dad is a triad boss goes retirement and know how to fight). The story begin when Selina ex came to her and ask her to take care of her wild daughter (Cecilia Cheung in another bizarre look) and tried to cure her wild behaviour. Well the rest of the storyline consist of the 4 woman and there relationship with the guys, we have Tony Leung Ka Fai going after Carina Lau, Athena Chu going after Edisen Chen, Picky Cheung going after Andy Hui, and Lu Yi going after Yoyo Mung.

The movie was mildly entertaining and the stars in this movie were fun to watch, but the flow and situation of the story do get tiring. Andy Hui look hot with his bodyguard suit and his non facial expression. Some of the stuff in this movie is just a recycle from other movies (Analysis This for one), which make the movie rather less enjoyable. The narrative talk from Carina was excitement giving us enough information on her friends and fine performance from everyone except Edisen Chen (I don't hate this fellow Canadian). This movie lack new idea, and the comedy is not that funny, I can't really compare to the HBO series because I never watched it.

If you are fans of any of these stars I recommend watching this because the movie wasn't boring at all. Don't expect the movie to be some clever script or anything special.

Funny in a weird way film
3 June 2004
By far the best 2004 Hk film i had seen so far...

Plot: At the beginning the relationship between Charlene Choi and Tony Leung Ka Fai was not that good. She thinks her dad is a weak sissy person and she want to live the wild live (stealing partying etc. Tony Leung, a single father, is a piano instruction who trying to coup with her daughter changes. Well some of Charlene Choi school mate, want to join a gang so they don't get bully up most of the time. They mistakenly think Tony Leung is the Shadowless Eagle, and after that some triads are after Charlene Choi because she gone in a lot of trouble.

The movie was very funny with a lot of great famous supporting roles, especially the rival triad leader. Tony Leung is a great comedian, and in his role he did a fine job. Charlene Choi yet another role playing a lousy mouth, get in trouble teenager. The movie contain a brilliant storyline, how Tony Leung deals with the different triads boss was gold and i really like the Eric Tsang speech about triads. This movie didn't really exceed in the daughter-father relationship (except maybe a tiny bit in the ending). There weren't many surprises between the action on each other, except Charlene Choi keeps on getting in trouble. The ending was really good, but when Tony Leung was getting beat up, I find it annoying of what he keep on repeating.

I like to give prop to Cecilia Cheung cameo, that was hilarious and very true on what she said. This movie is worth the watch, this is by far above-average film.

Boring movie with Great music.
29 May 2004
First the movie was speaking in mandarin because of the Shanghai location, so there is some horrible dubbing. Especially the supporting roles (like Leon Lai assistance). Second, the movie goes at a slow pace and no chemistry between Leon Lai and Faye Wong didn't help the film either. There are some good things about film, like the setting are nice, the lack of unnecessary dialogue and the perfect sound which fit the film. This movie seems like a Wong Kar Wai styles but nothing compare to it. There not much happening in this movie, also i don't see the connection between Leon Lai romance with his Man patience (except a few small things). The acting was alright, there play there character respectfully. I've notices there not many extras is in this film and there seems to be too much of the same character (like the mailman). The film was not totally bad, but it was boring to say the least.

Itchy Heart (2004)
Entertaining film
24 May 2004
The stars in this film look hot, Cherrie Ying and Carina Lau are both very beautiful ladies. Though the pace are slow and the situation are much predicted, the acting and the type of situation are fantastic in this movie. Sean Lau and his Wife has been married for 7 years and their relationship is sour (rarely talk to each other). His wife decided to go to vacation with her friends, this leave Sean Lau alone. He met Carina Lau his ex-girlfriend (who became a successful business woman) and start to hang out with Cherrie Ying. Andy On is funny in this movie, he is love with Carina Lau. Even though he is big and get angry easily he really has a soft heart. Lau Ching Wan, what can i say, he play great in any role he receive. This movie is certainly is above average comedy romance fluff you see, and it remain me to Men Suddenly in Black (one of my favourite) where everyone is cheating. I recommend watching this, it is no Lost in TIme but it sure is entertaining (with the hot stars)

Future Cops (1993)
1/10
One of the Worse HK film i had ever watch
22 May 2004
I can't help but laugh that these people that did a review all give it a good rating.

With such big profile star (except for prefame Ekin Cheng), one would wonder how will it turn out. After recently viewing this movie i can agree with Kozo from LoveHKFilm that Calling this film bad would be an insult to actual bad movies. This movie was sooo awful that it was worth it to watch till the end. This movie full of stupid humour that leave you confuse and will make you laughing how stupid the movie is. The storyline was just crapacular, if you have watch the film, they say the FutureCop can't lie or else they will get shock. Well when they are in present time, there was soo much lying going on (when Andy Lau and Jacky CHeung went for the interview is just one of many example). The plot was very shallow (which they stole from Fight Back to School) and the joke are not funny. From the start to the ending this movie look very fake, boring, and extremely stupid.

Com'on guys let the public know that this movie should not be view and should all be burn and forget about. Right now this is the second worse HK movie i had ever saw behind the New Option.

Cat and Mouse (2003)
Horrible Movie
15 May 2004
This movie was produced by Andrew Lau after the successful Infernal Affair he had made. I don't get it, Why is Gordan Chan picking up bad script to direct? (this and the medallion). With impressive star like Andy Lau, who play Swordman Zhan a bodyguard and inspector of Judge Bao (his character was in a lot of series and is a real life judge blown to proportion) who is play by Anthony Wong. The story goes, when there was no crime in Judge Bao territory for 3 month, Zhan was given a vacation. Upon to his destination, he heard that the Kind father in law want to get rid of Judge Bao. He also met Shining Mouse (play by Cecilia Cheung) who pretends to be a man and they become friends at first. Anyway, Zhan inform Judge Bao and thus they immediate went to the king (who play hilariously by Cheung Tat Ming) to tell them to the King.

This Lunar New Year fluff was suppose to be fun, entertaining and funny, well this movie wasn't funny at all. There were probably 2 scenes that I had good laugh while most of them are stupid. I can also see some Wong Jing wackiness in this movie which was totally unnecessary. The main plot might seen interesting, but really this movie was boring and how they solve the case was mighty stupid. The dialogue was extremely shallow which add to the boringness. The acting was actually not bad, Andy Lau was charming and Cecilia Cheung acted an amazing role where she a strong woman but can't get over with her love to Andy Lau. Judge Bao was extremely dumb and wasted in this movie. The fight scene was totally unrealistic, and there was never a moment where you were surprise by the movie.

Let hope we can all forget about this movie and move on..
