Iraivi (2016)
Iraivi - Tribute to Womenhood
Iraivan - Iraivi, The two extremities in gods, among humans are well portrayed with the characterizations etched by Kartik Subburaj. From the outset it hits the bulls's eye through its caption, 'A story about few woMENs'. Dealing about the dominance or the events revolving around women is always due to actions of their men. Kind of realistic feel to the society we live in.
S.J.Suryah - He deserves a special place in it. Though the theme revolves about the lives of women, Suryah was the best out of all. His screen presence and expressions went all the way through the audience claps & whistles. Surely the best he has done in terms of acting. Climax portions acclaims special mention.
Others - Vijay Sethupathy not in his regular eye-catchy role has done justice so as Bobby who completed his character with fit performance. Coming to the WOmen - Anjali, Kamalini, Pooja have all been given equal presence & scenes with enuf emotions to convey.
Verdict - Overall. This journey will never bore you out and everyone has something to take out of it. woMEN's may relate well to this work. Once again KARTIK SUBBURAJ!! Keep it Up.
Sarabham (2014)
Good One time Watch
Sarabham directed by newcomer Arun Mohan has its moments with all the elements of mystery thriller. But it lacks the cohesion in its narration which doesn't keep the viewers interested through-out the movie. The mysteries unraveled in the second half are the only positive note of the movie.. BGM was apt and good work from John Britto.. Songs were limited and credit for the director. Movie cast of Naveen, Salony, Naren were adequate. Its always rare to see a heroine getting bigger role than other characters in Tamil movies. However Naveen & Salony can improve on performances in their future works. Verdict: Movie will be a good one time watch with essential mysteries
Nimirndhu Nil (2014)
Movie for a Social Cause
Nimirndhu Nil is yet another good one from Samuthirakani. The movies against corruption have always been welcomed by audience and this one gets included as well. Usually the messages will be conveyed at the last in these kind of movies but this time it comes around in the beginning. The director has given his maximum attention for the social causes from the start to the end and makes it an interesting narration overall. Jayam Ravi was at his best again, Soori & Gopinath made commendable performances as well. Sarath Kumar & Amala Paul did fill their roles too. The love track is minimum and gets along well with the movie, but the biggest drawback is the songs. Though the director can't be blamed, it does break the speed of movie. Camera, BGM, Editing, etc were adequate. This one is worth a watch if you care about the society based movies..
Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal (2014)
A feel good entertainer
After good debut movies in OKOK & Sundarapandian from both Udhay & Prabakaran(director) respectively, I had some expectation about IDHU KATHIRVELAN KADHAL.. Well, it was nothing more than a feel good entertainer... It was not a huge disappointment but it could've been much better.. The story was pretty normal, the characters are the ones usually seen in normal rom-com type movies.. But this had an emotional climax which gave a slight positive feel about the movie overall.. I'd say the songs were below par being a HARRIS fan.. Santhanam was good with his one'liners again.. If you wish to see a fun-filled emotional family drama, may be you can afford your time to see this.. Lets say it was 6/10...
Kevvu Keka (2013)
One time watchable
Well, this is just an another rib-tickler from 'Allari' Naresh.. Though predictable at times, it evokes some laughs here and there. The movie starts off with a failed suicide attempt of Naresh. Then he starts narrating his love story to his uncle (Krishna Bhagavan), which ends with the hero accepting the task of becoming a millionaire in 6months. Now his uncle narrates a story of Naresh's childhood, were Naresh learns that his father was cheated by two friends. Then he decides to step into Bangkok to get his father's money back and win his love along with it. There are few funny plots in second half, however it ends all well..
The camera work, editing, music are all under par. The script & dialogues could have been better, as it gives a feeling of routine comedy story.. Overall a one time watchable movie, and just another gift for Naresh's fans!!
