Batman Begins (2005)
The Batman movie that we have all been waiting on.
This is what Batman is all about. Not a nipple clad cartoon, but a Batman that uses fear and his well explained gadgets to terrorize the criminals of Gotham city.
The cast. What can you say about this amazing cast? Christian Bale shines as the caped crusader. Gary Oldman is a perfect young Gordon. Michael Caine is outstanding as Alfred Pennyworth. Cillian Murphy really stood out as Dr. Jonathan Crane. Ken Watanabe had a nice take on Ra's Al Ghul but the real star was Liam Neeson. His role as Ducard shows what an amazing actor he really is, and what a great mentor character he can pull off with well done dialog and directing. The only real trouble for me came from Katie Holmes. She looked very out of place and more like a lost teenager then a real district attorney.
This Batman was set in a very real world, in a real looking Gotham city. The technology was believable and the use of CGI was not over blown for the first time this summer.
This Batman had what so many others have been missing. A plot, a real character driven plot. Not a CGI driven effects show case.
Christopher Nolan comes through in every way for this film. Looking at Batman Begins compared to Batman and Robin, Joel Schumacher should commit sepuku.
Pink Five (2002)
Funny as hell fan film
I just saw the 2nd one and loved it, does any one know where I can buy these on DVD?
This first film won the Star Wars fan film award, and it looks like the 2nd one is in the running again.
I would like to see what these guys could do with a big budget.
The effects are really top notch to be in a small short, the acting is great and the writing is funny.
I wish more fan films were like these.
Now I just have to wait for Return of Pink Five
