Kodocha (1996–1998)
10/10
Hilarious!!!
5 January 2006
Warning: Spoilers
When I first heard about Kodocha I had no idea what to expect. All I knew was that it was had the same director from Fruits Basket. I turned on my DVD player and that "Ultra Relax" opening song came on. I burst out laughing! Then the show was even more funny!!! Laura Bailey, the voice of Tohru Honda in Fruits Basket and Kid Trunks in Dragonball Z, gives an outstanding performance as Sana!! I was so impressed that she can sing, (Closing song in Fruits Basket and the closing song in Blue Gender) can sound like a little obnoxious super saiyan, a sweet innocent, a dark villain (Lust in Fullmetal Alchemist) and now a hyperactive eleven year old! What will this girl do next? Sana's "raps" are the best part! Every character is perfectly cast and delivers outstanding performances. Jerry Jewel portrays Akito, who is very similar to the popular Kyo Sohma in Fruits Basket. John Burgmeier is perfect as Sana's manager Rei. And then there was Colleen Clickenbeard. She was the voice of Rachel in Case Closed. She is absolutely marvelous as Mama! She acts so much like Laura Bailey that you would really believe that Sana gets her personality from her mother. All in all, this is an adorable show that will have you rolling with laughter over and over again!!!!

Complete Waste of Time
29 October 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I have seen my share of bad movies. Like everyone else, I ask my friends what they think of the movie before I watch it. Sometimes they will tell me that a movie is stupid and has no plot, but of coarse, the movie really does, it just was not interesting to the viewer. I have heard that Napoleon Dynamite does not have a plot, but it does, however stupid it is. But, this movie is such a waste of time! I have no idea why people like it so much, except that they have a very low cognitive efficiency and this movie is on their level of intelligence. Having said that, I do think that Jon Heder made a wonderful performance for the ridiculous character he played. I was so relieved to find out that he is a normal person and I do admire that he was able to play such a geek when he really isn't. That's a sign of a good actor and I have the utmost respect for people who are believable in their character when the actor is nothing like them. Despite this, Napoleon Dynamite is a complete waste of time. When you watch it, you feel like your brain cells are just zapping. Don't bother with this movie.

Doom (2005)
Not Bad
29 October 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I was, in a way, forced to this movie. I went having absolutely no idea what it was going to be about. Thinking that it was going to be another waste of time, I was pleasantly surprised. It actually had a decent plot for a zombie movie. The actors were believable in their characters. I am not a huge fan of The Rock, but he portrayed his role exceptionally well. I loved seeing Karl Urban as a good guy again. I also, thought that the freaky guy, Portman (Richard Blake, the guy who shot Bruce Wayne's parents in Batman Begins) did a fantastic job with his character. The movie is action packed and makes you jump, even though you know it is coming. I have been told that the video game "Doom" was the first one to use the first person shooter mode that is used in popular games such as Halo 2. In the movie, the camera does this and it feels like you are on a ride at Universal Studios. Of coarse, it was not the best it could have been, but I have to give the visual effects team props for what they pulled off. The story was great for being based off of a video game. (Much better than Super Mario Bros. (1993)Even though I love that movie) The characters are well developed, they had a past and acted the way they did for a reason. All in all, if you are just looking for a great sci-fi/ action movie this is the one to see.

Ice Princess (2005)

Not Great..
6 August 2005
Warning: Spoilers
May contain Spoilers: When I watched the trailer for this movie, I immediately wanted to see it. Although, when I finally saw it, I found it to be a disappointment. All of the actors did well, they couldn't have helped this movie, though. It was the writing that was terrible and unrealistic. FIrst of all, speaking from experience, competitive athletes do not treat their rivals in that manor. Most are very polite and encourage the other athletes. Second, no coach would buy their own athlete a brand new pair of skates (or grips, gloves, mitts) right before a competition. Like the character Zoe said, it takes around ten days to break in. Then, Casey goes back to that coach to train! Thats ridiculous! Also, an athlete that is a minor must have parent permission to compete in any sport. It is unrealistic that her mother would not have any knowledge of her daughter skating. This movie was more of people yelling, crying, and treating others like dirt than a heartwarming family film. Why was there such a feud between Joan Cusack and Kim Cattrall's characters? It's like they were just being jerks without a reason, what's up with that? The only good thing I can say about this movie was the actors did an excellent job with their skating! If I'm not mistaken, young Hayden Panettiere could barely ice skate when she started this project, and now she is a very talented young skater. This was not the best movie that it could have been and I am quite disappointed with the writing, make no mistake, the actors did their best with a worthless script, it's the writers and whoever approved the script to blame.

Fruits Basket (2001)

Leaves You Feeling Warm and Fuzzy
26 July 2004
Warning: Spoilers
May contain Spoilers: I first learned of "Fruits Basket" through a trailer on a FUNimation tape my little brother was watching. At first I didn't know what to think of it, but I like the FUNimation voices so I thought I would check it out someday. Although that

"someday" came about a year later. I bought the first DVD and watched it. I was hooked!!! This series is like nothing I have ever seen before. I mean the

characters turn into animals! This is a story about a young girl who loses her mother in a car accident. She didn't want to be a burden to anyone so she decided to live in a tent in the

woods. When she was walking to school, she stumbled across a house and

that's where she found Yuki and Shigure, two cousins who are cursed.

After I watched the first DVD, as I said I was hooked and it also left me in a very good mood. I was surprised by how well the dialog was done. It really sounds very natural, which is very difficult to do. This is by far the funniest anime show I have ever seen. Just with the dialog and the actions of the characters. It had me rolling in laughter, which is something anime doesn't normally do to me. If you are a hard core action anime fan, this isn't for you. But if you have a softer side you will adore this show! I love anime, but most of my friends don't, well, I had one friend over and they hate anime, they think I'm crazy for liking it. Anyway, she watched the first episode and she loves it!!! All in all, Fruits Basket is a wonderful little story. Everything is good about it!! The animation is excellent the whole way through, the voices match perfectly, it's hysterical, and it even has its secrets that you would never expect to come from this type of series. 10/10 ^_^

FLCL (2000–2001)
Different
16 June 2004
FLCL is an anime series that consists of 6 episodes. It also switches to the manga version from time to time. This show really has no plot and is extremely confusing! It would help if you know Japanese. The first time I saw it I thought Cowboy Bebop was coming on, then it was FLCL instead. Normally, I would

watch it and just wait for Cowboy Bebop, I couldn't sit through it! I fell asleep and missed Cowboy Bebop! That was a while ago. Then I watched all 6

episodes when they came on Saturdays and I still don't get it. Although, if you can sit through it, it can be funny. I watched it every Saturday on Adult Swim just because I found it funny. All in all, this show is pretty bad, but if you can keep an open mind then you will just laugh at all of the stupid comments and gestures the characters make. This is a very different anime show.

Charming...
8 June 2004
Two Weeks Notice is a charming romantic comedy. Hugh Grant and Sandra

Bullock are perfect for each other. It's about this lawyer who fights for what she believes in. Then she's hired by the very people she is fighting against. This is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. The writing is wonderful... Using lines like "You are the most selfish person on the planet!!!" "Now that's just silly, have you met everyone on the planet?" Also "Do you know what I like even

better than chess?" "Pokemon?" Those are lines that have such unexpected

answers you can't help but laugh! Best romantic comedy I've seen in a long

time!!

Bring It On (2000)
Not Bad...
8 June 2004
Warning: Spoilers
*SPOILERS* Bring It On isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The story is nothing new, but the stunts these actors are doing were done very well. Of

coarse it's not entirely accurate. High School squads are not going to be

throwing tuck tosses in a competition, let alone layout full tosses. Those stunts are not allowed. The stunts are more college level. If hard core cheerleaders can look past that and just enjoy the routines and stunts, then they will love this movie.

The Lion King (1994)
10/10
Best Disney Movie EVER!!!
8 June 2004
Warning: Spoilers
This movie came out when I was little and I saw it in theaters so many times!!! I loved this movie so much that kids in my class called me "The Lion King Queen" no joke. Mind you, I was in Kindergarten. This movie touched me like no

other!!! Spoiler* When I saw it the first time I didn't cry when Mufasa died, but now, 10 years later I tear up, even though I know whats happening!!! This movie is just the greatest movie, words can't describe how great this movie is!!! My favorite characters were the lions, Simba and Nala. The songs were excellent!!! I love this movie so much I memorized the whole thing, not on purpose, I just watched it that much! One time I was at home with my baby sitter and we

watched The Lion King, then she wouldn't let me have cookies because I

wouldn't stop talking the dialog. All in all, EXCELLENT movie!!! Best of the Best!!!

Video Game Comes To Life
8 June 2004
I have always been a big fan of Mario and his adventures. This movie is a take off on the NES and SNES video game. Except a little different, instead of

battling Bowser to save Princess Peach, Mario and Luigi battle Koopa to save Daisy. All in all I love this movie. For it's time it has decent graphics and not a bad story line. Bob Hoskins and John Leguzamo are perfect as Mario and

Luigi! It's just too bad they never made a sequel. Any fan of Mario will love this movie!!

Blue Gender (1999–2000)
Dark Anime
3 June 2004
I've seen a lot of anime, this is by far the darkest, most disturbing anime I have ever seen. It's great!! When I first saw the trailer for Blue Gender I got goosebumps. It's really a fantastic series that has twists and turns around every corner that leaves you wondering what's going to happen next. The voices are dark and haunting, the music is dark and scary. FUNimation did a fantastic job with this. With the voices of Eric Vale (DBZ's Future Trunks) and Laura Bailey (Kid Trunks, Keiko Ukimura). Word to the wise: Don't get too attached to any character, because there aren't any Dragonballs to bring them back. I got attached to a few characters that were killed off pretty quick. I wasn't happy. Also, the voice actors speak very low, so you might need to turn the volume up, but that captures the darkness about it. All in all Blue Gender is a very unique and dark series that any anime fan would love.

"SPIRIT GUN!!!"
2 June 2004
Yu Yu Hakusho is one of the greatest anime shows I've ever seen. It's the story of a teenage spirit detective and his friends fighting the worst demons from spirit world. The animation's great, the music fits, it actually has a story, and the voice actors are phenomenal!! It's also has clever dialog, FUNimation really did a great job with this project. This show is fantastic all around!!!

This show really grabs your attention, for instance: (Before I knew about this show) I was in the kitchen finding myself something to eat, my brother was watching Yu Yu Hakusho and I could see the TV from the kitchen. I heard somebody yell "Spirit Gun" and I instantly looked up, forgot I was hungry then sat down and watched it. GREAT ANIME!!!!!

Inuyasha (2000–2004)

"SIT BOY!!!!"
31 May 2004
InuYasha is an excellent anime series with everything a good TV series needs. Its got action, suspense, comedy and love. Inuyasha is about the adventures of a young half-demon from futile Japan and a human girl from modern times.

They team up with a monk and a demon slayer to find sacred jewel shards and destroy an evil demon. The animation is really good. What you have to remember is this is a TV series and not a movie. TV series never look as good as movies. I've seen some bad animation and this is NOT one of them.

The music is great and the voice actors fit the characters perfectly. All-Around : great show with few (if any) flaws. Any anime fan who loves fantasy will adore this show.

Trigun (1998)
LOVE & PEACE!!!
31 May 2004
Trigun is a sci-fi anime show about a man named Vash and two insurance girls

that are after him. The show started out fun and games, but slowly turned serious. All in all this show is very enjoyable, with Johnny Bosch as Vash (who was a Power Ranger) When I saw the first episode I was rolling with laughter. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. To understand what's going on you really need to see all of the episodes. (there's only 26) If you miss too many you'll be lost and probably won't enjoy the show as much. Overall: Great show.

Dragon Ball Z (1996–2003)
DAMN GOOD SHOW!!
30 May 2004
I have been watching DBZ for a while now. Of coarse it has its flaws, but every great show does!! It has action, suspense (if you watched episode by episode on Cartoon Network) love, and character development. When people say FUNimation ruined DBZ, from your point of view they might have. With me, whatever version I see first, that is the one I enjoy the most. I prefer the English version over the original Japanese version, just because I saw the dub before the Japanese version. But, I will watch the original version and keep an open mind. I respect everyones opinion and understand where they are coming from. Although, I can NOT tolerate people who talk shit about a show they probably don't understand. (Dragonball Z is a very complex TV show, if you don't see all, or a lot, of the episodes, your lost!) So, what I'm trying to say is If you don't like a show or movie, keep it to yourself. The whole world doesn't need to know what you don't like.

Just to set the record straight: The first 64 episodes of DBZ were done by a company in Vancouver, Canada. Not the Fort Worth company FUNimation.

It was SABAN who changed the show more than FUNimation. Thats why they sounded like Power Rangers (Somebody said they sounded like them) And, whoever said this show doesn't teach you anything? This show used a very vivid vocabulary. They said lines like "But to no avale" Children could learn more watching DBZ than in a vocab lesson at school.

About the music: You have to remember that the music was conducted during two different time periods. The original music was made in the late 80's to early 90's. The dub's music was made in the very late 90's to the early 2000's. Music changed a lot from the Japanese version to the dub. I personally like both versions.

I like DBZ very much, even though I didn't at first, I thought it was stupid because it was a cartoon, then I watched it... I was hooked after the first episode. If you could sit through it with an opened mind you DBZ haters just might learn to like it.

IT'S MORPHIN' TIME!!!
30 May 2004
This movie was a take off of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers TV show.

It came out when I was little, and I was into Power Rangers cause they kicked ass. So, I loved this movie. Even though now I look back and I can see the flaws. Kids who are or were into Power Rangers will adore this movie.

The opening was, in my opinion, the best part of the whole movie. I still want to go sky diving!! I also like the part were Ivan's "kids" were fighting the rangers. Most of the actors did there own tumbling. I was very impressed. Most of the actors are/were gymnasts or martial artists.
