The View (1997)
SPOILER: Whoopi was wrong
I'm sorry, but Whoopi went totally overboard for the simple fact that she can't accept a little bit of constructive criticism. But as usual, one of the women on the Morning Estrogen Overload Show reads or hears something and takes it completely the wrong way.
How can she call someone an "anonymous bitch" right after she mentioned the woman's name? They have to realize, of course, that Hollywood and the fashion world are chock full of very harsh critics. I'm sorry, but look at Whoopi's wardrobe choices compared to all the others on the show. Maybe if she would stop living in the over-sized man shirts and made a little attempt to actually look like a woman, they wouldn't have been so harsh.
Then, she goes on to say how people don't judge her by what she wears, but rather by what she says. Well, how does she think she made herself look with that immature, unnecessary, obsenity-laced tirade she went into? Gimme me a break. Whoopi just made herself look like an ass.
Judge Judy (1996)
Only kindergarten teachers go by their first names!
Judge Judy is nothing more than an arrogant, nasty, stuck-up b***h. If you pour boiling water down this woman's throat, she would pee ice cubes. She makes a career out of making little children cry and belittling people. If you ever find yourself in her courtroom, you have not the slightest chance of winning unless you're a woman. I noticed occasionally that if a person is not a white, 100% true blue American, she doesn't even give them a fair chance to speak. She walks into the courtroom with that s**t eating grin on her wrinkled old face and is nothing but a total b***h and a waste of an hour of TV. Look at the "memorable quotes" section for this show. It's nothing but her shouting people down and insulting them for no reason. I think she thinks that just because she's a woman, she can get away with anything she wants. As I said before, she only lets the women win. Maybe she doesn't only like men :)
The Buddy Holly Story (1978)
Goof Section? This entire movie is a goof!!
This movie should have never never been made! It is an insult to Buddy Holly's memory and obviously not much thought or research went into it.
The only, and I mean ONLY reason to watch this "biopic" (if you can call it that) is to watch the very talented Gary Busey as he actually sang and played all of Buddy's songs. It's a crying shame Gary didn't win the Oscar for his role in this film.
If, like the trivia section for this film says, someone else had the rights to a Buddy Holly movie, they should've made it anyway after this came out to try redeem some of Buddy's memory. Hell, they had three movies for Amy Fisher, why not two for Buddy?
I heard when Buddy's wife saw this movie, she ran out of the room in tears at the part of Gary singing True Love Ways. Gary saved this movie from being a complete and total waste.
American Idol: The Search for a Superstar (2002)
FANTASIA IS A COMPLETE AND TOTAL FAKE!! SHE HAS ELTON JOHN TO THANK FOR HER WINNING!!
Fantasia Barrino clearly did NOT deserve to win American Idol!
Let's take a little trip down memory lane. . . . .
FRENCHIE DAVIS: Named the most powerful voice in the competition up to her point. Posed for some website pictures in her underwear 3 years before her stint on American Idol. GONE!
COREY CLARK: Paula's self-proclaimed favorite. Had a domestic dispute with his sister years before his American Idol. GONE!
FANTASIA BARRINO: High School dropout, mother at 16, a voice like sharp nails on a blackboard, finalist the same year Elton John called American Idol a racist competition. 2004 American IDOL!
2004 WINNER / RUNNER-UP COMPARISON:
DIANA DEGARMO: Caucasian. 16-year-old, hard working high school student living at home, supported by her parents. Missed her high school prom to perform on the final night. A voice and a look far beyond her years, who hard-nosed Simon predicted would be in the finals. No song or style of music she couldn't perform. Given comments such as "You own this competition", "There's not a style of music you can't handle", "You take every song you sing and make them your own", and so on and so on. Whenever she was issued a negative comment, she accepted it graciously and was a very good sport. SHE ACCEPTED CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM!! Truly in the competition for the right reasons.
FANTASIA BARRINO: African American. Lives in a two-room apartment with a baby and could really use a million dollar payday. Sang like a squeaky hinge. When she was given a bad comment, she got very defensive and snotty.
Suddenly, Elton John is the guest judge. Fellow African American finalist Jennifer Hudson, who was above and beyond better than the rest, who Elton praised as his favorite in the competition, is voted off. Elton releases a statement to the media naming American Idol a racist competition.
Now, we're down to two finalists. One Caucasian, one African American. Who wins? Was this a legitimate decision, or was Elton John right?
