Simply Amazing
15 December 2006
I'll admit, having watched Power Rangers for a long time and not realizing its' Japanese origins, I was slightly curious to find out exactly why the two were compared and the fans split into the infamous "PR Snobs" and "Sentai Snobs". I chose Dekaranger as my first Sentai show to watch since I was very familiar with the americanized version and I thought I would be able to look at it better that way...

I was simple blown away.

Dekaranger has EVERYTHING! It's funny, sweet, has lots of action, drama. No two episodes were exactly alike and it was nowhere as cheesy as it's Americanized counterpart. While Power Rangers used a lot of the same story lines I found myself enjoying the Dekarangers characters more. While I couldn't bring myself to like Jack of PR, I LOVED Ban...and all of the team.

While I still like Power Rangers, Dekaranger is MUCH MUCH better and more fun to watch and I strongly recommend it, especially if you are not a normal fan of Sentai. After this show, you will fall in love with it.

So Bad, it's Good
4 December 2005
I first saw this movie when I was seven. To me bad acting, weak storyline and awful special effects didn't matter. I have recently re watched this movie and have discovered, I have so many fond memories of it, I still don't care.

However, this is not a movie for everyone, if you are just willing to sit back and have fun (especially if you're under the age of 10, but then again, I'm older) and just enjoy the movie, it's perfect. If you enjoy Oscar winning movies with drama, etc. then this probably isn't for you.

PS. Knowing the storyline of the TV show also helps a bundle or you will definitely not like it

Fantastic Four (I) (2005)

Fantastic? That's debatable *Spoilers*
10 July 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I'm giving this movie a high rating because I really enjoyed it. I think the cast were fine actors working with the very minimum of a script.

The truth is there is some storyline of Dr. Doom going insane after the loss of his company thanks to Reed's failed experiment and trying to take down the fantastic four as revenge. It's a weak storyline, but still there.

Now Marvel has always had their heroes being struggling, not enjoying the superhero business and the storyline has followed through here with the "Thing" who looses his fiancé because of his transformation. The others are having problems between themselves (old feelings coming back yadda yadda) My only real advice here is that if you want a dark "thinking" movie, go see Batman Begins, however if you want a fun summer movie that focuses on action and some interestingly placed comedy then Fantastic Four is for you.

Hopefully if they make a sequel, now that they have the basics (introducion of powers, etc.) covered they can make a movie more friendly to critics.

Stargate (1994)

An amazing story...
12 April 2005
Stargate is a terrific movie that has produced 2 hit TV shows, conventions and fans from all over the world. This movie started it all. I found it in my Uncle's basement and decided to watch it. It has an interesting storyline tying in Ancient Egyptian Mythology to make it even more interesting. It's about a struggling archaeologist with strange ideas about the gods and rulers of Ancient Egypt. Only one person is willing to believe him, and recruits him for a translator. What they find is even more amazing than they expected.

It's a highly underrated movie, in my opinion it's better than most sci-fi movies and very interesting.
