The Righteous Gemstones (2019)
Funny, but why all the d*cks??
Again, the show itself is funny and Danny McBride is always on point. My only question is why is there so much male frontal nudity and every episode?? I understand the shock value of it in the first episode, but in each one... multiple times??
Prodigal Son (2019)
Had high hopes, but couldn't get passed the 3rd episode
As the subject heading suggests, I got as far as the third episode before I had to call it quits. The acting is mediocre at best, but the real travesty here is the writing. Michael Sheen is an amazing actor, but the people running the show are the ones that need to be locked up.
Sparks (2013)
90 mins of eye-rape!
First of all, please explain to me how someone decides to become a "Super," trains since childhood and somehow completely lacks ANY muscle definition. (Somehow, I doubt a grown man with the body of a 10 yr old can strike "fear" into the hearts of criminals.) The acting was awful, the storyline was scattered (at best) and the direction was non-existent. This movie was so bad, embarrassed for Clancy Brown, since he is an actor I like (but I guess we all need a paycheck). I understand the attempt at "noir," but even that failed miserably. The reviews on this board saying how "great" this movie is are quite obviously fake, as they have clearly never seen this celluloid monstrosity. I'm a little . It was possibly one of the worst films I've ever seen, and that's saying a LOT!
Coffee Town (2013)
One of the funniest movies I've seen in a while!
I saw that one reviewer said this film is "where Kevin Smith used to be." I would say it's more along the lines of Dave Chappelle, (even though I like Kevin Smith, Dave is a MUCH funnier guy). By now you've read the synopsis, so I won't bore you with any of those details. What I will say is that I went into this movie with only mild expectations, and was damn-near blown away at what I was watching! This movie is one of the very few flicks that made me spit out what I was drinking because it was so damn funny! (It's not a "spoiler" to say that I'm referencing a certain smoke break with a man of color) I strongly recommend this movie, and sincerely hope it gets more attention!
Zombieland (2013)
F-ing AWFUL!
As someone who loved the movie, I had high hopes for the series. (Although, I also wished they had gone with different characters) I then watched my hopes get sh*t upon by this monstrosity that erased 30 mins of my life. The acting is pathetic, the "humor" is lame and the plot holes are literally infuriating. One of the most irritating issues I have is that the actors appear to be performing watered-down versions of the characters in the film. (One previous reviewer complained that Tallahassee's character went from "bad ass" to "retard." I would agree with that statement) Amazon, you're better than this - please let this abomination die!
