This has to be one of Stephen King's worst book adaptations! Unnecessary changes to characters and plot line. Acting is marginal at best. Maybe this is an improvement to the average watcher's diet of (un)reality TV, 3rd generation cop-show spin-offs and (lack of) talent TV show drivel currently available on prime-time network television. It is puzzling as to why Stephen King, who allegedly collaborated on this production, would allow such a disappointing production be associated with a pretty good book. Maybe he needed the money......? One would think that a high profile, network spot would generate better actors, script and direction. Hard to believe that Spielberg played a part in this sad little show. To the faithful constant reader and those who expect higher quality writing and acting (cable network and PBS)don't waste your time. I will not be tuning in to see where this disappointing TV show goes.

As a lifelong fan who saw these events play out as they happened, I waited with eager anticipation to see the romance of the century portrayed in film. I have seen some of Lyndsay Lohan's early movies but have only seen her drug and alcohol fueled antics splayed across the gossip rags in recent years. I wasn't sure what to expect with her cast as La Liz. What the hell were they thinking?! She was awful!! Worst casting and acting I've seen......ever! Whiney, skinny 20-something "actress" was totally miss-cast and out of her league. Dick was at least believable to some extent but the rest......kinda painful to watch. Wish they could do it over. DVR'd it because I was busy the night it aired......delete!
