Up for Grabs (2004)
Funny, Thought Provoking Film
Up For Grabs tells the hilariously ridiculous true story of the two worst fans in all of baseball. One is so determined to become this instant millionaire he was willing to bite a child to get a better grab for it, and another who (perhaps) faked his way into a courtroom at chance to get the cash himself. (It's a wonder he is not suing this picture.) This film does an excellent job of showcasing society's increasing dehumanization and greed through a compare and contrast between the main story of Barry Bonds ball and the ball hit by Roger Maris years before.
One thing I loved about Up For Grabs is there weren't any pompous narrators/self-proclaimed-savior-of-humanity (*cough *cough Michael Moore) driving its message into you, but let the actions of the people involved give a clear idea of what they are trying to get across as well as giving a chance to look at your own morals.
If you get a chance see UP FOR GRABS
Eddie (1996)
I LAUGHED REALLY REALLY HARD it gets a 3 from me
Non-stop hilarity. Genius Film-making. Unworldly writing. Heavenly Acting. This movie has it all. This movie gets an A+++ from me. Some people might say "You're Crazy Man This Movie is worse than an alligators ball sack". TO those people I say look no farther than Greg Ostertags genius acting. Why he hasn't been in more movies is beyond me.
By the way. All that I said above is untrue. This movie is horrible. Whoopi Goldberg is horrible. Greg Ostertag is horrible (on the basketball court and the big screen). I currently rate this movie below the Power Rangers movie. Thats right. I rate this movie BELOW The Power Rangers Movie. Save yourself that free rental at Blockbuster and don't get this film.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Should be named The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
The overlapping idea here is that it doesn't suck. I breathed a great sigh of relief when it didn't turn out to be anything like Attack of the Clones (THE WORST STAR WARS FILM), but it also isn't incredible. Its not near on par with the OT which everyone hoped. This movie is unfairly heralded as the return to form for George Lucas which it is not. The script once again is terrible. Sometimes the CG is overboard, and the acting in this movie FROM EVERY ACTOR is far less than perfect. Though Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, and Ian McDiarmid all have strong moments.
The Fact of the matter is this: when this movie is Strong its very strong but when its weak its really weak. So don't expect to be blown away but don't expect to be disappointed either.
P.S. R2-D2 is the new JARJAR BINKS!!!!! not really but he is awfully annoying in this movie.
