Fear X (2003)
4/10
Fear of the unknown self
3 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Getting past the past bereavements has always been a tough task to do; in which for the most suffered or the ones who made the others suffer, would be the most difficult. Fear X deliberately manages to distinguish between the suffered and the latter,in one single character; In other words, exactly like the approach used in David Lynch's masterpiece "Lost Highway"!

Built up slowly and reasonably to the point of inaccurately calculated and annoying ambiguity, its deliberately failure to offer a precise conclusion, fails to offer something different or newer than the above-mentioned feature film, likewise made the intentional obscurity, pointless and the movie in every word stutters before the Lost Highway's extremely exquisite words.

Ashes (II) (2012)
To Dream is To Dream !
3 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Brief but Effective; Taciturn but Meaningful; Enigmatic but Scrutable; Worldly but Extra-terrestrial.

A short film which manages completely and beautifully to distinguish the quality of the dreams and ethereal experiences from any attempt to recreate the unique senses, feelings & fantasies that they create.

Weerasethakul made a dreamlike movie about a dream, and asked if this was the dream itself ? What about the mesmerizing firework display; Was there really anyone to feel it and experience it ? Or are they all there just to record it on their tiny screens ?

Requiem for a long-lost youth
30 September 2015
A requiem for a long-lost youth begging to close the door on the past bereavements by tricking the ungainly mother living her lorn childhood dream; This time with the pure, yet infeasible love of a playful child.

Such doomed to failure passion for an immature boy seems to be incontrovertible to all the sane, mature beings, yet the irresistible temptation of being cherished and loved by someone after a long time, even for a small moment, makes the ill-fated adult mother blind to the consequences.

An uncanny story which which may choose to express itself simply and plainly, by not going too deep and remains at the surface with its characters, but still is satisfying,well-crafted and well-played.
