Spirited (2022)

A new Christmas Classic!

This movie has everything! A fun musical that makes fun of itself, with a sweet story, humor, emotion, and all of the qualities of a great Christmas movie. The story has enough twists to make you invested in the characters and wanting to know how it will end. My wife and I watched this with our 14 year old and we all loved it.

One of my favorite moments was how the extras would break out into dance, like a flash mob. The over-the-top musical numbers totally worked, and added to great story! Excellent writing and of course Ryan Reynolds's and Will Ferrell are brilliant together. Great chemistry and thoroughly entertaining to watch.

It's our new favorite Christmas movie that we'll watch every Christmas for sure. Thank you for bringing such a joyful, fun movie that was brought smiles to our faces.

Funny and heartwarming; we'll acted and choreographed; extremely well written and great message for everyone who feels unredeemable.

The Handmaid's Tale (2017–2025)

Best show on television!

Season 5 is explosive!! Excellent writing and acting. I have no idea how they're going to end this series, but I have no doubt it's going to be satisfying. The Thelma and Louise moment in S05 E06 was EXCELLENT!

Elisabeth Moss, Yvonne Strahovski, Bradley Whitfield, and Max Minghella are all compelling brilliant actors. The entire cast is believable and does an excellent job bringing this frightening story to life.

Watch it, you won't be disappointed. I'll be sad when it's over. Looking forward to the rebellion that is brewing.

This show isn't far from the truth. With the people we have running our country right now, you can see how this could be a reality.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022)

Nick is back!!!

My wife and I loved this movie!! It reminded us how great of an actor Nicholas Cage really is. So many witty comments, and Pedro Pascal was brilliant as the obsessed fan. I loved all the references to Nick's past films. My favorite line was when Pedro was trying to convince Nick to run to their getaway car and come and pick him up; Nick said "I don't run" and Pedro says "you did in National Treasure..." Nick reminds him that that was a stunt double, and Pedro replies, "not according to the featurette after the film..." This was so witty and funny, and Nick did an amazing job reliving his past while trying to figure out his future. I highly recommend this movie and hope it wins a Academy award. It is very deserving.

Schitt's Creek (2015–2020)

Best show since King of Queens

Schitt's Creek is one of those shows I can watch over and over again and never be bored. It's one of the funniest, sweet shows ever. I love all of the characters, and their reactions to the discomfort of living in a motel in a small town is priceless! If it doesn't grab you right away, give it a few episodes and you'll be hooked. One of my all time favorites!!

Stranger Things (2016–2025)

Absolutely love season 4

Freddy Kruger is in Stranger Things!!! Season 4 has a real Nightmare on Elm Street vibe and sure enough... there he is, Freddy Kruger! Love it, love it, love it. Excellent series and masterful job on Season 4.

Top Gun: Maverick (2022)

All I can say is "Wow!!!"

If you love the original Top Gun, I will say, hands down, Top Gun Maverick is even better! One of the best movies I've seen in years! And the scene between Maverick and Iceman was very very moving. There were satisfying twists I didn't see coming, and nods to the original which really made the movie overall a great night out. Movies are back!!! This one has to be seen on the big screen.

The Harbingers of Things to Come (2022)

Compelling movie

This movie makes you think about your own life and what's to come. Our world is moving fast towards total destruction, held together by God's hand of blessing. Jonathan explores where we've been and where we're going, and what will happen if we don't repent as a nation. It's a powerful portrayal of our world today.

Ozark (2017–2022)

Absolutely Brilliant

Edge of your seat from start to finish. My wife and I loved Ozark and are sad it's over. Thank you Netflix for bringing us such great entertainment. Jason, Laura and Julia are amazing, believable actors and make the show fantastic!!

Disappointing

My wife and I were looking forward to watching this, but when it ended we looked at each other and said "that's two hours we'll never get back". Seriously, is this movie supposed to be based on reality? What man, no matter how much in love would stay with a woman who insisted on being with other men? The premise of this movie makes absolutely no sense. It really was a terrible movie. I would stay far away from this one.

The Batman (2022)

Wow! Amazing movie!!

There was so much I loved about this movie! It was incredibly filmed; should definitely win an academy award next year for cinematography and set design. Every scene was crafted like a painting... truly amazing to watch on the big screen! Also the villain's (Penguin and Riddle) were excellent. The kind of criminals that are gritty and despicable human beings. I thought this version of Batman did a great job with the origin story, without having to reenact something we've seen a dozen times. 3 hours is a long time to sit and watch anything; but this movie kept me entertained and engaged the entire time. It was excellent right up to the last minute! Also don't wait for a scene after the credits like we did... there isn't one; however the last minute of the actual movie totally set up the next film. Hopefully they'll keep going. Excellent job rebooting a franchise that has been rebooted 6 times or more!

Redeeming Love (2022)

Excellent modern spin on how God loves us unconditionally. Abigail Cowen was very believably and brought a realism to her role. The story is powerful. Especially the moments that reminded me how much God loves us; when. Michael said, "You can't change the life you had but you can choose the life you want". And when Michael didn't go after. Angel, because he wanted her to use her freewill to come back on her own. This is a perfect picture of how God feels about it. Inspiring movie.

Everyone deserves the chance to be loved.

Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)

Sooooooo great!

The perfect movie. Toby McGuire and Andrew Garfield totally made this movie!!! It was so fun to watch. This movie made me laugh, cry, and the action scenes were awesome!!!!

King Richard (2021)

Inspiring well done movie

The producers did a great job with this movie. I love a rags to riches story, especially if it's true. This story proves that your circumstances in life should never prevent you from being great. If you believe in yourself and more importantly have someone who believes in you, you can achieve greatness. I watched this with our 13 year old and he was energized and inspired by the Williams story. Two amazing women and incredible athletes who have remained grounded and humble throughout their journey. Great family film.

Succession (2018–2023)

Best written show on television

The first two seasons absolutely blew me away. Season 3 was a slow burn and took a little while to hit its stride, but wow, did it ever. The writing is brilliant and the actors/characters are so good. I hope they keep Succession going for a long time. It's a great show!

Narcos: Mexico (2018–2021)

The best series on Netflix

The third season of Narcos Netflix is unbelievable! Amazing characters and storyline. It's hard to believe the events depicted are true. The side story of the cop seeking justice is riveting. Law enforcement and politicians are unbelievably corrupt in Mexico and the producers of Narcos do an incredible job of bringing it to light. It's a great series, and the crew is risking their lives bringing it to us year after year. I hope Narcos is winning a ton of awards because the show deserves it.

The Morning Show (I) (2019– )

Absolutely Brilliant

I'm a conservative and a Trump voting Republican. I started watching The Morning Show because I was interested in the Matt Lauer story. To be honest I was a little concerned that their take on his story would come from a "Me Too", liberal bias and that I'd probably not make through the first couple of episodes. I was wrong. This show is absolutely brilliant! It does an excellent job of showing both sides of the story; what it feels like to have our current Cancel Culture judge and destroy lives. It reveals the consequences of bad choices, but it also has empathy for people who have made mistakes, and have a desire for redemption. Season 2 is even better than the first. The writing and acting is brilliant. Im looking forward to where they will take this in Season 3. This is the currently the best show on television! Conservative or Liberal, there's something for everyone.

Ted Lasso (2020–2023)

Original and sweet

I wasn't sure about this show. There are so many good series between Netflix, HBO, Showtime, Apple TV, it's hard to stand out. I watched the first episode of Ted Lasso and actually laughed out loud, which I rarely do. Then as I continued watching, Ted's "goodness" and encouragement to "be a goldfish" no matter what adversity came his way, started to make me want to watch more. Now I'm halfway through Season 2 and this has become my wife and I favorite show. It makes us feel good everyone we watch it. The writing is quite brilliant, and the actors are terrific! I hope this show continues for a long time. The world needs Ted Lasso!

Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (2021)

Great action movie

This was a fun night out at the movies! Awesome action sequences and the wit of Ryan Reynolds makes the movie a blast! Salma Hayek stole the show. It was a great night out. My wife and I loved it!

StartUp (2016–2018)

Brilliant

I love it when Netflix buys a series that we otherwise would have never heard of. The great series Kingdom is an example of this. And now StartUp. Only 3 seasons, but absolutely riveting television! The characters are believable and fascinating. Edi Gathegi and Martin Freeman are brilliant! If you like compelling storytelling you'll love this series! Thank you Netflix for bringing it to us.

Nobody (I) (2021)

Finally a movie worth seeing!

This last year has been a huge disappointment as far as movies go. But Nobody has changed all of that. This movie was so much fun, and Bob Odenkirk does a great job as a family man, just trying to live a peaceful life, and then all chaos erupts. The villains are nasty and terrific to watch and the action scenes are a blast! This is a movie worth going back to the theater to see! Bravo!! And I hope there's a sequel.

Friday Night Lights (2006–2011)

Absolutely one of the best series on television!

I'm not even a fan of football but started watching this with my wife and son. I've seen some excellent series; Breaking Bad, Dexter, The Sopranos, Kingdom on Netflix, but I have to say, Friday Night Lights is the absolute best by far! The writing is fantastic! The acting is 100% believable and the characters become like family. The portrayal of small town Texas is spot on. You feel for every situation that arises. Each season gets progressively better. There are many adult themes, but as an NBC series, it's okay for a younger audience. I honesty believe this is one of the most well-written and acted drama of all time. The football games are exciting to watch, and filmed and edited brilliantly. I obviously can't say enough about this series. Watch it, and you'll see what I mean.

Big Sky (2020–2023)

Fantastic show!

This really is a great show for Network television. With all of the premium channels out there, it's nice to watch something of quality that you don't have to pay extra to see. Every episode of Big Sky is exciting, and it just keeps building. I'm on Episode 9 and it's like a train out of control. A very well done series, and I feel like they're just getting started. The villains in this one are great too! Just watch and you'll see what I mean. Well done ABC.

Yellowstone (2018– )

Unbelievably good!

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this show. I'm not really into westerns. I tried watching the first episode twice and couldn't get through it. Then a trusted friend said the show is amazing and to try again. So I did. Now I just finished Season 2 and all I can say is WOW! This show is fantastic!!! The writing is excellent. The characters are well developed and exceptionally acted. The story line is edge-of-your-seat and totally binge worthy! If you're looking for great drama and a truly great show, Yellowstone is it!

The Unicorn (2019–2021)

Pleasantly Surprised

I saw this on Netflix and started watching randomly. This show actually is quite good. I found myself laughing and empathizing with the lead character, Walton. The cast of The Unicorn are believable and endearing. I even found myself with a tear a couple of times. It's a good show and definitely worth watching.

My wife and I absolutely love this series! The acting and story line is moving and amazing to watch! We're hoping it will be picked up for a 4th season. It deserves to keep going!
