Bold Native (2010)
I eat meat every day - Not just for animal rights nuts
I don't mean to offend by saying "nuts" but you know what I mean, most of us just don't think about it.
Most of the reviews here are so very clearly in a similar political grouping that I want to speak up that those of us who don't have Animal Rights as our personal cause also love this movie and I usually don't eat a hamburger for at least a week or two when I rewatch Bold Native.
This movie is amazing and Denis Henry Hennelly just kills it like he does in Goodbye World. It is engaging from beginning to end with great dialog and I love the camera work and editing.
I do wish Joaquin Pastor was in anything else, he does such a great job in this.
And the message, about animals, corporations, and family, does affect people even if not all their behaviors change. I will never be vegan but I will feel guilty and push for ethical farming.
It's such a good movie!
Flimsy Company (2018)
I liked it
It's obviously not Hollywood gold, but it's worth watching and I did not regret my hour or so.
The main character's insanely distanced from how people talk dialog was annoying at first, but quickly became just a character quirk and a good reason why he's alone.
I'm not going to shout its praises but I liked it. Give it a watch.
Plus One (2019)
So much better than I thought it would be
I really like Plus One. The basic plot is shallow and predictable, but the execution is great. It's fun the whole time and done very well, they cut on scenes so early it's refreshing, if it doesn't advance the plot or be quickly hilarious it doesn't get shown. And there's a lot of small original touches that make it stand well apart from the normal rom-com dreck.
Looking forward to Jeff Chan and Andrew Rhymer's next project.
