Resident Alien (2021)
ET..DO NOT PHONE HOME!
Been waiting for this show for a few months now. Looked good from the promos, but didn't want to get my hopes up. Watched it last night and am totally hooked. Alan Tudyk is perfectly casted and the subtle jokes throughout kept me laughing and yearning for more episodes. Haven't had a new series do that to me in ages! You have to admit, new TV content during covid has been mediocre at best. How wonderful to start watching this gem now. It's the perfect Comedy-Drama we didn't know how much we needed . Especially with all the political crap we've had to see day after day. We need a good escape and a few good belly laughs that this great new show brings.
I see the majority of review here already are positive, the few negative ones...well obviously they don't have a sense of humour or have just not given the show a chance. Folks, only 1 episode so far. Geeze!
Ratched (2020)
Paulson isn't Fletcher, but comes VERY close.
Binged watched this last night. So good. Didn't think anyone could do Louise Fletcher's Nurse Ratched justice...so deliciously sinister beneath a cool exterior. However, Sarah Paulson comes VERY close.
Good origin story of the character and why she ended up the way she is. You hate her, but love her at the same time and almost feel sorry for her. Some great delivered lines...as we'd expect from Ryan Murphy.
Ghost Mine (2013)
Enjoy it for what it is.
Yep another hokey reality theme ghost/paranormal show. Bad acting, but if they are really actual miners then that should suffice as to the reason why they're so bad. Personally, found this show enjoyable, laugh with a grain of salt, enjoy a little "story" telling of the history of this town, area and past residents. If you're looking for some good entertainment with no expectations and a distraction from current world events, this is a good show. Personally, there's a lot worse crap out there to waste some time on.
The Conners (2018)
Incredibly impressed. Brilliant writing and talent.
Well just finished watching the first episode of The Connors. Must admit, truly impressed. They've taken what was a bad situation and used it to showcase a powerful and positive message, along with some other touching moments. John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Sarah Gilbert have proven they have talent to carry on the show without "you know who"...actually, I think they have actually made the show better. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with this show going forward. I know I'll be tuning back in.
