Mayonaka no tantei Nightwalker (1998)
Does it really have to end like this?
Very good. Some of it was a bit cliché, but really very original for the subject of vampires. Someone else who commented on here said the first few episodes were out of print, but I haven't found this to be the case. If you go to centralparkmedia.com, you can supposedly buy it there. I also found them on Amazon. Where did I find my episodes? Ironically, in a Save-A-Lot grocery store's dollar bin (they were VHS). Yes, my episodes were only a dollar. The only problem is that I couldn't get 5-8 and will have to buy them later. Hard to believe there's only 12 episodes. I hope that more are made because I would actually buy this series. The soundtrack is actually beautiful, in my opinion. Cain's theme is awesome, as is the opening theme. All of the music is lovely though.
A must-see series for lovers of anime and vampires!
V for Vendetta (2005)
Only movie worth seeing twice!
I went to see this with my boyfriend and his best friend. His friend had seen it once already and said it was THE ONLY MOVIE he ever saw twice. I loved it and my boyfriend continuously stated that it was "total ownage!!!!" I mus agree. If it weren't the last day or so in theaters, I'd probably see it again. Well, when it comes out on video, then, needless to say, each of us are buying a copy of it. Our friend even commented that it was too perfect to ruin by watching any deleted scenes that might come on the disk.
The characters are amazing. The plot is amazing! Everything about this movie is amazing. It makes you really think about what is going on in today's world. Especially important is the fact that people are being prosecuted for what they believe in. For having a Qu'ran (please excuse the possible butchered spelling), you would be killed. That's almost like post-9-11 America. Also, the riots in the streets? That's going to happen if gas prices continue to rise. Yellow Coded Curfew? Sounds a bit to me like the terror alert level! There's a lot of important and RELEVANT things this movie has to say.
Anyone who doesn't like this movie is probably an idiot. It makes you think. It's NOT about humor, sex, romance. It's about standing up for what you believe in and being willing to die for it. It's about defending the people of your country against such a world as portrayed. It's about being heard! Definitely worth seeing twice! OR MORE!!!!
The Asylum (2000)
Confused
MAJOR SPOILER (possibly) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At the end of the movie when they're discussing the real killer in the movie, was it the father, the sister, Jenny, or the priest. I've narrowed it down to it being one of them, but I'm not entirely sure who it was. Anyone have any idea? I'd appreciate the knowledge. Also, at the end when she said something like "Stop fighting. We all have to cooperate here now." (Probably not exact quote.) Was she implying that they were all going to have to live together in the asylum now or what? Another thing is that this whole asylum idea makes it seem like Gothika tried to rip off a bit of the idea. Overall, I didn't really care for the movie, the only reason I'm commenting is because I'm just not sure about a lot things they said and did.
