My Life Is Murder: It Takes Two (2022)
Unique mystery!
I still like so much about this show. I'm really happy about season 4 and looking forward to it. It's not just the locations that make the stories unique, it's also the writing and direction. I don't feel like my intelligence is being insulted like so many other show do. I'm not real happy about the new wardrobe for Alexa. The bright colors work for Madison and I love them on her. She can actually wear just about anything! But I liked Alexa's style more in the previous seasons. It seemed much more natural. She could go from jogging to glamorous with ease. I do love the New Zealand scenery and we seem to be seeing more of it. That's always a good thing!
Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators (2018)
Hope I'm not too late!
I'm new to this series (2023), but I really like it! It's a lot of fun! Mostly upbeat with little gore or graphic violence. The stories are unique, the characters are not obvious matches, but they work very well. I don't have my intelligence tested with silly plots and absurd situations And who couldn't love Patrick Walshe McBride? I like all the cast, but I'm going to keep an eye on McBride's career. He's really very good! It looks like Shakespeare and Hathaway has not been renewed for season 5, and since I'm still in season one, there may be a reason for that down the line, but I'll watch all I can!
Harry Wild (2022)
A bit predictable
I have enormous respect for Jane Seymore, but the script and direction make this show second rate. The scenes are too predictable, too often seen before. And someone needs to tell the screenwriters and directors that cigarette smoking and daytime drinking are no longer attractive or appealing in men or women.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 9: The Marshal (2020)
Amy Sedaris - Outstanding!
I adore Amy Sedaris! I need to mine Google for her other work. I love actors who see acting as an art, not a road to fame and fortune! A brilliant actor!
Death in Paradise: Murder on Mosquito Island (2020)
Mixed messages
I don't understand why the producers insist on trying to make this a *comedy*/drama. Ben Miller was perfect in portraying a believable detective who could also be humorous. When they brought Chris Marshall on. They tried too hard to make him "cute" and ended up making him ridiculous and unbelievable as an adult who was an experienced detective. The directors insist on old-school, slap-stick comedy while the writers insist on nonsense conclusions that lead to unrealistically solved murders. I watch for the scenery and the opportunity to nip-pick for errors.
Death in Paradise (2011)
New character are lacking talent, details are overlooked
Loved the first two seasons, but Kris Marshall's character is just badly written. It's old time slapstick and no longer funny, especially after Ben Miller set the pace so well. BTW, every episode they have Polaroid- type photos of all the suspects up on a whiteboard, but no one ever has a camera! I'll go on watching it because it's still a good alternative to the bloody violence in other shows, but sloppy staging is irritating.
