Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Felt like a fun fever dream
This movie was weird and felt like 5 different films merged in one... but I had a such a fun time watching it I HAVE to give it a 10.
It had me at edge of my seat the whole time. I screamed, I laughed, I cried. I can't remember the last movie that captivated my attention like this.
The cinematography and sound design were also unreal.
Don't get me wrong, the movie has its faults; the pacing, the story and some of the characters, probably earn it a lower score, but I'm rating solely based on how entertained I was. I'll leave the nitpicking to the film critics.
Babycakes (1989)
Creepy
This "courtship" part of the movie was unwatchable. You would think dead bodies being dolled up would be the creepiest thing in a movie like this, but unfortunately it's not.
In the beginning I was rooting for the girl to get the guy but it was quickly evident that she was just straight up stalking him and forcing him into situations where he is clearly uncomfortable. I'm surprised this movie has such a high rating considering that there were so many red flags and signs of predatory behaviour. Imagine the outrage if the genders were switched; if he followed her home late at night, if he watched her in her house through binoculars, if he blackmailed her to eat with him, if he undressed her while she was drunk....
Once Upon a Summer (2009)
Complete waste of time
Once I start watching a movie, I HAVE to finish it, and I have never regretted anything more than I regret starting this movie. Those were the longest 90 mins of my life. In fact, terminally ill cancer patients should watch this movie to lengthen their perception of the time they got left.
How this movie has a 6.7 is beyond me. The script was awful, the acting was horrible, the music was annoying and the characters weren't even remotely interesting.
Spy (2015)
Much better than expected
Much better than expected.
The trailer did not do this movie justice.
After watching the trailer, I had no intention of watching this movie, but after hearing good feedbacks from friends, I decided to give it a try. The last 2 movies I watched that starred Melissa McCarthy; Tammy and Identity Thief, had completely destroyed my opinion of her, but this movie somewhat restored it. I liked her character's development throughout the movie.
It was funny, fast-paced and had a great cast.
However, like most movies these days, I found the major plot lines of the movie to be predictable and unoriginal.
If Spy 2 were to be released, I would go probably watch it.
