Willow (1988)
Willow was the hero
Finally watched this movie after starting the series on Disney+. I love Val Kilmer and this is an ok "cult classic"...but after it ended I realized that the baby really didn't seem to have an affect on the overall story?? She didn't defeat the queen, Willow, Rizeal, and the rebel army did. I get that Enola is supposed to be the future queen, but she literally had no affect on the outcome of the battle (other than she lived, which is great). Based on this movie alone I'm not seeing how she's so significant?? BUT I'm glad the series seems to finally be clearing that up. Otherwise, huge story gap.
Is It Cake? (2022)
Fun & Creative
I can't believe the detail these bakers can put into a cake! A fun spin on the cake competition genre. And I do like the host, Mikey Day. Sure, his jokes are hokey, but they're supposed to be. I like that the competition rules/set up aren't super complex and I just love the details and creativity!
Roped (2020)
Cowboy version of Footloose
Cute movie. Good cinematography & music. It is totally a "cowboy version of Footloose". Instead of the town being against dancing, the town is against rodeos. Cowboy falls for council member's daughter (who instead of being opposed to dancing is opposed to rodeo). 'Ol boyfriend picks on cowboy. Instead of a tractor race, it's a horse vs truck race, so on and on... Again, cute movie, but once I noticed the similar plot I couldn't help but pick out the shared story points.
Game Over, Man! (2018)
Horrible attempt at action comedy
Stupid jokes, the humor was not funny; totally trying too hard. It's like they couldn't decide if they wanted to make an action flick or a humorless comedy. The jokes weren't funny, the gore was ridiculous, the storyline was totally stupid.
