Too Old to Die Young (2019)
So slow
I couldn't stop falling asleep while watching this show. I enjoy a slow burn but it seemed like all the characters were on tranquilizers, even the coked out characters were moving slow and their speech slow. During the middle of the second episode, I skipped ahead and peaked at the last two episodes and everything was still moving so slow. I appreciate taking time in a film to slowly move through a well staged set but taking 2 to 3 minutes to go down an empty hallway to get to the room the characters are in was torture. Torture is the exact word I will use to describe my experience with the pacing of this show. I found the story compelling and I really would like to continue watching but the only way I could finish this show is if I could watch it a 2x the speed. Honestly each time I have given this show another chance I am asleep within 10 minutes. I really wanted to enjoy this show and am very disappointed that it is physically impossible for me to do so.
Her Smell (2018)
Could have been so much more
Even with all the A-Listers in this movie the story fell flat and was terribly boring. There was nothing to invest in. No love story or epic journey of redemption. The struggles of the lead character was not believable. Instead of coming off as a drug fueled rock star that everyone has to put up with, she comes off as an untalented crazy person that no one in their right mind would ever support or idolize. A Movie about rock bands and rock music should rock on some level. The actors in this movie are more than capable of delivering strong and believable performances but for some reason must have been told to hold back in every aspect. Add better music and some more emotion between characters and this film could have been enjoyable.
Hello Ladies (2013)
sadly disappointed
I'm having serious trouble with believing anyone can be as big of a tool and as clueless as the main character Stewart. Is the show meant to be complete hyperbole or are we supposed to think that someone out there in the world can truly act as pathetic and exude such blind confidence as Stewart? Or is the show just a brand of British humor that I'll never understand because I'm American? I am familiar with many comedy series on BBC so I hope I have some inkling of the British brand humor across the pond. For as much hype as HBO used in promoting Hello Ladies, I have to say I'm disappointed and annoyed 75% of each episode. I tend to use the fast forward option often in the middle of the episode when the story begins to drag. After reading the article above I'm a tad more educated on the overall approach in the show's writing. Maybe Merchant is as awkward in real life as Stewart in on the show. I would just think that he would have had a friend at one point in his life sit him down and explain a more correct successful way of picking up woman and how to treat people. Everyone has either that nerdy girl in the friend zone that secretly likes you and always points out your flaws or an annoying sibling that just enjoys correcting your behavior so you are not an embarrassment. Hang me out to dry, but I enjoyed the show Luck with Dennis Hoffman and that show was canceled in it's first season and I wasn't the least bit surprised because that show lacked a pace to the progression of the story line as well. HBO viewers have come to expect a certain level of shock and awe in HBO comedy series that fuel the success of Bored to Death and Eastbound and Down. Unfortunately, Hello Ladies just hasn't struck my funny bone yet and I'm no longer making it a point to watch the show. I think I mainly tune in just to see if Stewart has gotten any closer to hooking up with the lousy but sexy actress that lives in his pool house. If it was an underdog story filled with dating faux paus where Stewart is progressing in attempts of landing the hot actress then I would be more entertained. If that plot is actually happening then boy did I miss it!
DarkWolf (2003)
Really how does a movie this bad get made?
Its so bad i have to post a warning to all people to not watch it. Not even tolerable for a cheesy b movie. How no talent hacks get a chance to make a movie is beyond me.. Please go back to film school and try again or find a new career path CZ the writers and director failed miserably the most popular subject matter this decade... Should be ashamed to call yourselves movie makers. The viewer should not get angry and annoyed when watching the film. I want to write a letter to Cinemax for listing a description that made this film sound entertaining.. Come on people, you all can do much better than this. At least put in a valid effort and don't half way make a movie.
The Job (2003)
Don't waist your time
I'd like to have the two hours of my life back that was waisted watching this film. I kept watching hoping the plot would get better but kept getting worse. I was very surprised how badly written and directed this was. Did the director not watch how awful the acting was before editing was completed? The answer is NO! It takes real talent to make Daryl Hannah look so horrible and ran down. She never once looked like she was a professional assassin. Couldn't even hold a gun correctly and with a believable grip. Spoiler alert.. If a woman goes as far as shoving a wire hanger up inside herself to attempt an abortion and tears the inside of her lady parts up, i am fairly certain she'll end up going through with the actual procedure. Oh and after cutting herself she has sex the same night.. Doubtful. The whole film isn't believable. Just a thought. 3 good actors that are the main characters give great performances in other films and I'm clueless as to why I wanted to assassinate the entire cast myself due to how fake and annoying each character was. Every person associated with this film should feel embarrassed to have been a part of it. I feel its my duty as human being to advise people to not watch this movie. I am some what sorry to be so cruel but after watching this film i was compelled to express my opinions.
