Fargo: Morton's Fork (2014)

The end has come too soon.

Oh why...

Finally, there was a show that was perfect for me. I love the wait of a week between each episode and especially with this type of series, where cliffhangers are oft-repeated. Finally, I had something to look forward to on a Tuesday.

But now, it has ended..

But what an end it was! Shock and emotion are the two things this finale provoked in me. The shock was ironic because I knew I would be shocked, nevertheless it came as a surprise, if that makes any sense. I especially loved the use of tense music in various acts, where the only sounds to be heard were sudden abstract sounds, which increased the enjoyment as it made me feel so much more uncertain and uncomfortable about the whole situation, in the best possible way.

In the end, justice was served and the characters got what they deserved, in the good way as well as the bad way.

This was definitely one of the best series of 2014 and one of the best criminal drama/comedies of the last 10 years.

Please, please, please let there be Season 2.

Consistency Endures

Once again a great episode.

Every week this series brings us another riveting, exciting and most of all, entertaining episode.

One of the best things about this episode, in my opinion, is the genius ending. It is a cliffhanger and I absolutely loved it. When the music kicks in, its a thing I cannot explain, but its awesome.

The performances were outstanding as per usual and so was the cinematography. I especially love the excellent use of the cold and icy scenery of Canada.

Once again, fantastic entertainment hour from FARGO.

Awesome.

Solid episode.

Wow this show is seriously growing on me..

Honestly, the show's cinematography and music are used so well it reminds me of the days of Breaking Bad. Everything is there for a reason and everything has been used in such an intriguing and interesting way.

There are so many vibes and emotions you get from this show and that is what I like most about it. You feel sad and depressed in one moment and in the next you are just suddenly completely locked on the screen due to the immense intensity of the scene.

Once again, kudos to Martin and Billy Bob for yet two more great performances.

Cant wait for next week.

Brilliant. Just Brilliant
16 April 2014
From the very start, from the opening shot of the cold dark icy road and the background music starting to play, I knew this would be something different, something awesome.

Coming from someone who hasn't watched the 1996 film by the Coen brothers, I really didn't know what to expect. I was in a way wondering if I was just wasting my time and watching a series that would fall short of everyone's expectations and just flop, like so many other TV series do nowadays. However, that didn't happen at all.

The performances were outstanding in my opinion. Martin Freeman was excellent and to my surprise did the accent fairly well. Billy Bob Thornton was amazing as Lorne Malvo, the enigmatic vibe you get from his performance gave me chills.

The cinematography is also one of the good things about this pilot. The shots are smart and intriguing, yet still simple and not too overdone. The music is also outstanding. There are times when it is quirky and funny, there are times where it is tragic and sad yet epic, and then there are also the times when it is intense and mysterious.

Fargo is mysterious, intense, funny (at times), tragic and just simply plain awesome! I really hope there are more to come like this.

The Blacklist: The Freelancer (No. 145) (2013)

Beautifully Written, Beautifully Acted and Beautifully Structured
1 October 2013
Wow. What an absolutely great episode. This series is really finally a new show that shows great promise for an excellent future. This episode and the last were so well written, acted and structured, showing intense moments and at the same time emotional moments.

I love a show with good music, I mean, who doesn't. This show's music is really very good. Very catchy and always fits the moment.

The acting is incredible, especially James Spader, who, I think, will be Emmy worthy. I guess we'll see next year.

Finally, the structure. This episode was very well structured and I could easily understand all stages of the plot. Many TV shows contain very poor structuring and therefore I cannot understand the main point of the plot.

Overall: 10/10 for an intense and surprisingly good episode!

True Brilliance...
23 September 2013
This is, I think, my 6th review of a Breaking Bad episode. I have to say it is one of the most difficult tasks ever. There are so many thoughts racing through my head; theories, losses, intense moments. I try to keep it as vague as possible, but frankly I'm beginning to run out of ideas.

The sheer shock after every single episode of this brilliant series is close to unbearable. The shearing intensity that makes your heart race like crazy just gets me every time.

This show is not just a piece of entertainment, its a legacy, it teaches people, it educated us, but still at the same time entertains us to the point where it becomes the only thing we talk about.

I wish there was a higher rating than 10/10 for this episode, but there isn't so I guess its 100% from me.

Oh...My...God...

...I can't think of any other TV show, movie, song or any type of media that has ever moved me, emotionally, as Breaking Bad. At certain stages this show makes you cry, then it gets you very scared and then it makes you root for someone. The amount of passion and thought put into this show is more than phenomenal.

I was shocked and surprised by this episode (like I am after nearly every BrBa episode), but this did more than that. It nearly made me cry, and I'm pretty sure it also made 99% of all the people who watched cry. Because the situation and theme is just so heartbreaking.

The end of a Breaking Bad episode just leaves you with so many theories and I think that is one of the things that makes the show so effective. The end of this certainly left me with many thoughts, but I'm not going say them because that would spoil it for some.

Emotionally, one of the best episodes on TV ever. 10/10 for this brilliant episode.

Wow!!!

Honestly,I can't think of anything else that can put into the review summary. My heart races more when watching this show than anywhere else, even when doing sports. The amount of genius and intensity put into this show is...is...I cant even begin to describe it.

Its actually always quite hard to wright reviews for this show because of 2 reason. Firstly, my hands are shaking out of excitement which makes it hard to type. Secondly, there are so many emotions racing through my head which makes it hard for to concentrate.

Breaking Bad will forever be the most intense and addictive show ever created. Vince Gilligan and the other writers are all geniuses and should be honored in some way for this show. The actors are all brilliant, but we already know that.

10000000/10!!!!

Psychologically Impressive
1 September 2013
Warning: Spoilers
There are in fact only four more episodes of this whole series left and I can't even begin to think about what could happen. I gotta tell you, this episode is a psychologically impressive one.

This episode is mostly about Jesse and how he goes from trying to burn down Walt's house to almost turning him into the police. Hank and Jesse have teamed up to bring Walt down but its much harder than Hank would expect.

Meanwhile, everyone is hinting Walt to send Jesse for a trip to Belize, but Walt just won't do it because after everything, Jesse has never talked to the police which shows his loyalty, until Jesse threatens him.

Walt is threatened and now everything is crumbling down slowly. Will Walt really order the murder of Jesse and what is Jesse's plan to bring down Walt? I just can't wait!

Holy Sh*t!

Yes, there is a reason for why I put those two words in the review summary, its because that was my exact reaction to what you simply must go out and watch right now. Im not going to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen this episode yet but I am going to say this: you are going to freak out.

Its that classic 'Breaking Bad Intensity' mixed with all the lies and the storyline that makes me just want to jump out of my chair and scream. The writing in this series is so phenomenal and you can really see why I'm saying that in this particular episode.

10/10 once again for this absolutely brilliant episode from the greatest TV drama of all time!

Finally the exciting brand new series that I have been waiting for has arrived!
23 August 2013
With Breaking Bad ending, I wouldn't really know what other series to watch anymore in that genre area. But when I heard about Low Winter Sun, I was relieved because its exactly what I'm looking for.

If you're like me and you like those anti-hero suspense type series, you wont be let down. Its one of those shows where you're never really sure about the characters. It's the show where it gets so suspenseful that you fall right out of your seat.

Of course I doubt this show will overcome the greatness of Breaking Bad (just like I doubt any show ever will) but this one might just satisfy me enough even with a predecessor like Breaking Bad. I also think that's why the critics are being so critically hard on this show, its because it's got such an amazing show ending, so people don't give it a chance. Heck, people were even complaining Breaking Bad was too slow of a show after the first 2 episodes and that's only because Mad Men was at such a good stage.

Anyway, in conclusion, this show looks great and I really hope for people to realize its greatness and give it a chance

Breaking Bad: Blood Money (2013)

The End Begins...
12 August 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This much anticipated episode got my heart beating again, like nearly every Breaking Bad episode. It definitely lived up to my expectations, if not surpassed them.

The intro already got me so hooked and the shot of the wall in his house where somebody had written in graffiti: 'Heisenberg', got me thinking about so many things at one time.

Jesse seems to be depressed once again and did suspect something about Mike. He does not yet fully believe nothing happened to him and he also suspects Walt (or should I say Heisenberg).

It seems as if Walt's world is crumbling down around him. When vomiting in the same toilet where Hanks realization took place, he notices his Walt Whitman book was gone. He does not think much of it yet but gets him thinking. When he finds the GPS tracker on his car, that's when the classic Breaking Bad suspense kicked in and I got really scared.

Finally the confrontation between Walt and Hank. I had not fully anticipated this scene to take place in the first episode, but nevertheless I'm glad it did because it got me hanging on the edge of my seat, almost swallowing a pillow, literally. And the final quote: "Tread Lightly"! Genius! Awesome episode! 10/10

Amazing film, of course there are negative aspects, but still superb piece of filmmaking!
15 April 2013
Warning: Spoilers
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, in my opinion, was a super film. There are always things to criticize but we shouldn't ruin these amazingly made movies by picking out the bad things and watching movies like this negatively and critically, but we should enjoy them and be entertained Films are meant to be entertaining and keep you glued to the screen the whole way through, and I was highly entertained. The level of visual effects and scenery just blows me away.

Of course there are things that stand out negatively, for example some mistaken castings or some scenes that just didn't fit in, or even that it was just too long and started to kick in much too late.. All those things do stand out and that was probably the reasons why the movie didn't get as good reviews as LOTR. One thing in particular that stood out for me was the overuse of CGI. I miss the sense of life that Peter brought out so perfectly in LOTR, by (for example) using real people for orcs. The Hobbit made middle earth seem like you're in Narnia or Wonderland. Also I find the character 'Azog the Defiler' to be quite unnecessary unnecessary, his chase of the dwarfs was just too much, and as I have mentioned, maybe if 'Azog' had been played by a human and not digitally animated, it would have brought more life into the film.

Excluding the mistakes, Peter Jackson got it right once again He summed the movie up perfectly and we all have to admit, it was an extremely hard to task. Well, he has done it again. He has used the same tone and themes for 'The Hobbit'. It is everything I wanted it to be. I really loved Martin Freeman's performance of Bilbo. He displayed the perfect characteristics of Bilbo, this is the Bilbo I always thought he would be like from reading the books. Also, Ian Mckellen's performance of Gandalf was just outstanding. He IS Gandalf, no-one on this earth could have played a better Gandalf.

Of course, 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy is incomparable. The style of movie making there was just phenomenal and Peter Jackson took a huge risk in making these three hobbit films, since it was an extremely hard task, but I think he has proved, once again, he truly is the one director to bring the much loved middle earth on screens. I loved the movie and I just can't wait for the second one.
