Quantum Leap (1989)
Lightening in a bottle idea & great stories!
Great scifi series that ended too soon (5 seasons) with an incomplete story that leaves you sad, unfulfilled and unsettled about the fate of Dr. Sam Beckett...a hollow feeling to be honest. A cliff hanger finale with no conclusion!
Pluses, it has great on screen chemistry, bromance and banter between Sam (Bakula) and Al (Stockwell) leaping and landing into new and unexpected situations woven into compelling story telling and great acting.
Currently, the 2022 reboot (missing Bakula and Stockwell) has a shaky start but I will give it a shot. Hope it won't tarnish the legacy of the brilliant 1989 series!
Sarangeui bulsachak (2019)
Start of my Korean drama odyssey..truely!
I never understood the global appeal a d popularity of K pop music, dramas and frankly, would have been ignorant if I hadn't given it a try. Netflix happened to be promoting this new title and I enjoyed the trailer...peaked my curiousity and wanted to see more.
I was hooked by the first episode - the witty script, dialogue, music, songs, cinematography and the palpable chemistry not only between the leads but the whole cast - it really caught me pleasantly off guard!
I have and continue to binge watch - since mid february till now (first week of May), I have completed seven K drama series! Am on my eighth one now.
I do have a clear favourite actor - Hyun Bin and pretty sure, many other talented names will be added to this list.
In lockdown, good opportunity to get 'pop cultured'!
Enterprise (2001)
Brilliant story telling...still relevant today!
Re-watched the entire 4 seasons of Enterprise (on Netflix) since it's first air 18 years ago. Social themes like our ethical and moral conflicts, our humanity still resonate today. Enterprise's timeline in the Star Trek series universe is unique as it gives a true glimpse of what is to come soon in our own reality!
I read once that 'science fiction is what science fact aspires to be, ' Enterprise, for me, encapsulates that profoundly!
