Fantastic Four (2005)
Fantasti-sucks.
OK, I'm a major fan of the comics, and I have to say this is probably the worst comic-movie since Catwoman. Aside from Johnny, the characters were stale. The scenes that were suppose to be the most emotional turned out to be jokes, ex: When Ben Grimm's girlfriend drops her engagement ring after seeing him on the bridge, and he tired to pick it up, yet his new rock fingers were too massive to grab it. Reed did not really come off as his egg-head self, becoming some kind of comedic scientist. Dr. Doom though, was by far the most unforgivable crime in this entire tragedy.
The most dangerous villain in the Marvel universe, and some consider him the greatest villain in comicdom. First offense: He's a CEO? Right at the beginning of the film, he's seen ripping off Norman Osbourne from the Spider-Man comics and movies. Though I can understand the idea, they could have easily changed it. He begins to lose his company and begins to go crazy? Sound familiar? Second offense: He gains powers. Unlike most villains, who are usually more powerful than their hero opponents, Doom posses no superhuman strength or powers aside from his own intelligence, which is even second to Richards'. In the movie, he somehow gains the power over electricity and grows metal skin. WTF? In one scene, Doom becomes a second-rate Magneto. Third offense: no armor? Later in the film, Doom is seen gaining access to his own personal armory, so why couldn't he just as easily grab a experimental super-armor? At least that'd make for less of the trashy Force-Lightning he used. All in all, while a fairly good movie for someone ignorant to the comics, anyone who knows even the slightest bit of the great comicbook, beware. For shame Mr. Story. For shame.
Heat Guy J (2002)
Heat Guy J is awesome!
This must be one of the most underrated animes out there. From the first time I watched this show I was hooked. This show has pretty much everything you could ask for: several great lead characters ( banter thrown around between J and Daisuke is great.), great fights ( watching J tear other androids a new one never gets old), a whole unique world to explore, many subplots within the main plot, excellent voice acting. Some of the CGI is pretty good and J looks plain eerie when seen without skin, while others like Daisuke's motorcycle is excellent, you'll find it hard to find a better looking and feeling show this side of Cowboy Bebop!
