Sins of the South (2024)
The True Crime is the Sick Fake Southern Accent
I decided I would listen and watch as I had a late lunch. I decided that I'm going to fast because this narration made me lose my appetite. I was going to logon and write a review, but I read the phones previously posted and they all say the same thing there's no way that person is from the south. Maybe for her training she watched Gone with the Wind over and over and even then she still doesn't get it right !
During section s of the same sentence the accent disappears but sadly it doesn't stay gone for long. You would think the producer and directors even the narrator would take a hint from the police or investigators as to what people in the South really sound like. If the get a different narrator for a season 2 I will watch outer wise count me out.
New Blood (2016)
Total Entertainment
Wish they had kept this one going more than one season! The writers were able to merge two different crimes well enough to show the overlap of two separate departments with two novice investigators who not only crack the code but make you crack a smile and laugh as well. Really good series they should have kept it going as each character gave clues that you wanted to know more about them.
The Landline Detective (2020)
No need for billions of $$ to make a good movie
I found this very entertaining and it made me follow the clues and I visualized the setting and not a cent was spent. When James was annoyed by the constantly ringing phone, I too felt annoyed. One thing that threw me was how young the 'retired' detective's voice sounded. Of course my mind spun off another plot that somehow the real killer had intercepted the message about having the retired detective call James. Totally different and totally believable.
Christmas Getaway (2017)
Loved it all around
I gave this a ten. I liked the reasons they both needed a 'getaway. They all had normal reactions and nice makers to boot. The setting filled the theme of the old-fashioned Christmas. Loved also the reminders about love and family and the need to be open to joy entering your life.
Whiskey Cavalier (2019)
Find something else to watch
How many cliches can you handle? From the very start every move every line was something you heard from some other movie or TV show all packed in to the script. Almost makes you grateful for all the commercials
