Doing Hard Time (2004)
Standard story with nice overthought end
The movie starts really sad and the story tells itself along the way. You expect everything that happens in the movie. A man revenging the death of his 7-year old son, but he has to get himself into prison where the dudes are that caused this trauma. Along the way no spectaculare things happen, because the most parts are already told in 100 other movies. Don't be throwing it directly to the bin, cause the character of Michael is played more then reasonable. No real good conversations, but some nice action scenes. Finishing in a "never-thought-it-could-be-in-this-kind-of-movie" end...but maybe one of the better ends I've seen in this genre.
The Forgotten (2004)
This could have been great
I have to agree with the majority of the comments. All starts up as the beginning of a classic movie people will talk about for the next decade. When getting to the end after having seen some of the best how-do-I-keep-the-viewers-attention-scenes, the movie gets into a whirl-wind of standard endings that will not keep you awake at night. Forgotten is probably the name they came up with to remind you that the last bit of the movie is best to be ...... For most people it will be entertaining enough, but choose The 6th Sense if you can only watch one of these 2...it is far more better through-out the whole movie and at least there is something to thing about when done.
The Manchurian Candidate (2004)
Nice seen the original, but this one is just another great movie of Denzel
Again on short time a movie where Denzel takes control. I never saw the original, so i cant judge if it is better or not....but this one is going to be another masterpiece to the collection of mister Washington. During the movie the plot gets clear very soon, Meryl Streep is playing the loving but not caring senator-mother of a Medal of Honor-soldier, fighting to win the campaign for vice president of the United States once back from the Gulf War. No soldier of the same squad that came back from Desert Storm remembers exactly what happened over there and why Shaw got the medal, but Denzel is dying to find out and of course he will. Good entertaining film that has to be seen if you like Denzel Washington. Maybe bit more action scenes from Gulf War had to be in there, but not a minus because of that.
