Elvira's Haunted Hills (2001)
Nostalgia and a few good laughs
This one is just for die hard Elvira fans, it starts off well but by one hour long it starts to get really boring. It's a non stop low budget homage to Vincent Price movies with two or three really stupid jokes that'll make you laugh. But overall the plot is really thin and predictable. The original was way better, but I still hope someday Netflix or some other streaming service will make a third one with a better screenplay and higher budget to present the character to younger generations. It could be one for Cassandra Peterson to pass the character's legacy ahead. My rating is 6 out of 10 stars for nostalgia and a few laughs.
Twin Peaks: Beyond Life and Death (1991)
This is cinema
David Lynch is the greatest American filmmaker of all time. This is just the greatest series ending of all time and 30+ years later we're still waiting for a series to surpass the drama, romance and mistery that this work of art brought to the screen. The characters and respective actors are all iconic and Jimmy Scott's rendition of "Under The Sycamore Trees" is one of the most haunting songs to ever grace the screen. The scene in the Black Lodge? It gives us all chills to this day. Evil has won the day. Will there be hope for our heroes? The answer is blowing under the sycamore trees forever more... THIS IS CINEMA.
