The Muppet Show (1976)
An All Time Classic!
The Muppet Show is maybe the best family show ever made, it is all the way back from the 70s but I discovered it when I was growing up (well my mom introduced it to me) and it was just awesome, I loved it. I still remember laughing my head off at Fozzie and Beaker and The Swedish Chef and pretty much all the other great characters Jim Henson put together. The man must have been a genius because I still love it today and my mom and I will pass it on to the next generation of family. The movies were also very good (OK so a few missteps but over all they're still good) and the new movie reboot was great too, I hope they can keep it up and make these movies (and maybe even bring back the TV show) for generations to come!
The Great Gatsby (2013)
Very Disappointing
I'm a big fan of Leonardo DiCaprio and why wouldn't I be, he is a great actor when he's in good movies and he's a total dreamboat. Loved him since Titanic (not a great movie but again he is a dreamboat). But in this movie he wasn't at his best and I don't blame him. Maybe it's because I had such high expectations going into this movie with the great actors attached to it and the subject matter (they're doing The Great Gatsby for goodness sakes) but I thought it was pretty bad. I honestly almost left the theatre like my friend wanted to but ended up convincing her to stick around until the bitter end. I think the main reason this was a disaster is that the director didn't have a clue what he was doing. Way too many beautiful shots of people dancing like flappers and champagne and all the roaring 1920's nostalgia which isn't what the movie is supposed to be about. DiCaprio was wasted and the rest of the cast pretty much was too. Daisy was not cast right she's a great actress but not right for this part. A real missed opportunity and a disappointing film, avoid watching it unless nothing at all else is on TV.
