A Fall from Grace (2020)
Another greayt Tyler Perry mivie.
I liked this movie a lot. I thought it was believable although towards the end I did have some questions. The only thing I noticed which bothered me is that it is not j"State' of Virginia but "Commonwealth" of Virginia. In a Virginia courtroom they would never use the word State. I am a Virginian, so that kind of bothered me. Otherwise, really enjoyed this movie.
Play the Game (2009)
I thought the movie portrayed Andy Griffith's character as too naive in a lot of ways.
I enjoyed the characters David and Julie...and I loved the "twist" at the end - where she'd been playing the game too. I was not at all happy with Andy Griffith's character....at first it made "Joe" seem unusually simple for a man of his 84 years. Even if he'd only been with one woman all his life, he was bound to know more than he claimed to know. Then, it got a little uncomfortable when he started talking his "sex" talk and he appeared to be a dirty old man. It disappointed me, because that's just not Andy Griffith's style. (RIP). There were some truly funny scenes in the movie, though, most of them by David. I don't know why they chose the woman they did for Edna. She was definitely not an attractive OR sexy older woman. The sex scene between she and Joe literally turned me off...they could have done without that. Anyway, I did enjoy most of the movie, but I'm disappointed in Mr. Griffith's role in this movie.
Religion, Inc. (1989)
Perhaps the worst movie ever made.
I bought this DVD in a bargain bin -- you get what you pay for. I cannot watch the entire movie....it's that bad. I'm glad I only paid $3.00 for it. Save yourself some money - avoid at all costs. I thought, when i saw that Sandra Bullock was in it that it might be okay. Wrong. Dead wrong.
The acting stinks, the directing stinks and it's not funny.
Avoid it like the plague.
You'll be glad you listened to me.
Of the subject a bit....but one can usually find some good bargains in the bargain bins. It's how I have built up my DVD collection.
Mrs. 'Arris Goes to Paris (1992)
Wonderful family film for all ages.
Luckily I have this delightful movie on VHS. It is one of the truly great movies I've ever seen. Actress Angela Lansbury (always a favorite of mine) shines as Mrs. 'Arris in this film. Likewise, Omar Sharif (still a heart-throb) plays a very convincing and lovable Marquis Hippolite. This movie flows smoothly and although the outcome is somewhat what one would expect, it is a lovely escape from reality film that I consider a classic. All the characters, from the lovely Natasha, the somewhat shy, but honorable Andre, the tough but fair Mme. Colbert, portrayed by Diana Riggs and even the despicable Mr Armont, all expertly portrayed and the casting for this film is strong. I urge everyone, young and old alike, to take in this lovely family film. You won't be sorry.
