Cutie and the Boxer (2013)
its okay
I am writing this review on Cutie and the boxer. This documentary was very magnificent and truth telling. I expected a little more for the ending of it. The art that they did in this movie was very inspiring. They were a very old and cute couple. It was very easy reading the captions. The filming of the documentary was very great. This documentary showed a lot of emotion and caring for each other and what they did. You could tell that they really loved each other. Some parts of this documentary wasn't all that good like the ending I really hated it because I expected a lot more. The more the documentary played I kind of got confused. the way they did their art was amazing and very beautiful.
Twenty Feet from Stardom (2013)
Loved It
I am writing this review for this documentary on 20 Feet from Stardom. When I watched the preview of this documentary I was expected to see some backup singers falling victim to the music industry but this one caught me by surprise. It started off a little slow for my taste but it was very interesting how following your dream can keep you in as being back up singer and not being able to be a solo artist. All of the ladies had very beautiful voices and I thought that it was very messed up that they didn't really get to use them to the full extent of their potential. This documentary taught me a lesson which was to never give up. All of them kept hope no matter what. I would recommend this documentary to anyone that has a dream.
The Act of Killing (2012)
Unforgettable Review
I am writing this review on this remarkable documentary The Act of Killing. Is it crazy for one person to be feared by a whole country? Would you celebrate and joke if someone killed 2.5 million people and didn't get punished? I want to first start off by saying this is a very unreal feeling when you watch this. I personally think that all people should be entitled to their own thinking and their own beliefs. When I watched this I was thinking I was just going to see someone telling the story of some type of pain they had endured during a war. I was surprised that death squads can kill about 2.5 million people with their bare hands. I also think it is insane that the government will make someone hold there tongue against their will making everyone scared to speak up knowing that they may be killed for their opinion. The bad part about this documentary was that at times it was hard to keep up because of the captions. The filming was very good. There were a lot of shockers in this film and it will have you gasping every few seconds. I'm glad that the director Helped Anwar Congo come to his senses and realizes that what he did was wrong and I hope he gets help.
Dirty Wars (2013)
Must read Review
I am writing this review on the documentary Dirty wars. This documentary was about Jeremy Scahill exposing all the dirty work that the government and the army did to kill people who were innocent. When watching the documentary I expected to see the army and their enemies just helping each other putting on a show for publicity. But instead I was informed about all the messed up stuff they did to people who they thought where bad when they had nothing to do with it at all. This documentary took you all around the world it was filmed in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia and Iran. The filming work was very well done It was just hard reading the words when they blended in. the one thing that surprised me was how they just killed all them innocent people for no reason . I recommend this documentary to anyone who wants to know the truth about all these dirty wars.
