B Positive (2020)
I love it!
Great show! Love the characters. Season was exceptional. The change in Season 2 was unexpected but very well done. New cast members are stellar! The story line is great!
Dune (2021)
I didn't want it to end!
Very well done! I first read the book over 50 years ago. I've read all of Frank Herbert's Dune series but the original Dune has always been my favorite. Such a great job bringing the story, the WORLD of Dune to the big screen. If you can please go watch it there first & then HBOMax. Timothée Chalamet did a superb job of bringing Paul aka Muad'Dib to life. Took me 10-20 minutes into the film to BELIEVE he was Paul. He makes a believer out of the viewer. I can't say enough about this movie. I was able to quote quite a bit of the dialogue.....if follows the book THAT closely. Came out of the theater to find online that they have greenlit Part 2! GREAT NEWS!
Star Trek: Discovery: Through the Valley of Shadows (2019)
Give me Capt Pike's Star Trek
I gave up on S1 in the middle. Just wasn't 'right'. When I found out Anson Mount was going to be in S2 I was more than willing to give it another try. The bonus was finding out he was going to play Capt Pike. Pike has always been that obscure character that the whole series originated from. The writers have done an exemplary job in fleshing out that glimpse of him and made him real. Anson Mount's portrayal has given their words life. Even knowing the story I was still not prepared for how deeply it effected me. Almost a week later and I'm still feeling it.
I am like some of the reviewers, having trouble with the Captain playing a secondary role to a subordinate. Then I remember Discovery is Michael's show, Michael's story. Pike has been there in the background which has been hard to handle since he's the captain. But after this episode they have brought him to the forefront and these last two episodes are going to be epic!.
Criminal Minds: The Big Wheel (2009)
Comment on Guest Star Alex O'Loughlin
I enjoyed the episode The Big Wheel very much. I admit to tuning in because of Alex O'Loughlin. I found his portrayal of the OCD serial killer chilling and as far removed from Mick St John as he could get. He did a fantastic job in keeping with the quality of the show that CM is. His portrayal of Vincent certainly showed a different side of his acting ability. He made you CARE for a serial killer and made you SAD that he died. You can write a great part, like Mirren did, but you have to ACT the part to bring the audience along with you through your tortured journey...and Alex did all that and more. I'm am VERY proud to be a fan of Alex O'Loughlin.
Garrison's Gorillas (1967)
Garrison's Gorillas
I watched the show when it was first on TV when I was 12 & fell in love with the characters. My favorite was Chief & he became a teen idol during that time. The stories were good, the humor I loved! Even my parents enjoyed it. The TV show was shown on GoodTime TV about 4 years ago and I tried to tape all the episodes. For the time period that the show was made the sets were OK. The costumes/uniforms were great. Loved the give and take between the characters. I would recommend this to anybody! It was a take-off from the movies but it was still well done. Comparing it to today's TV shows is not fair. Acting, special effects and such have come along way in 40 plus years. The main story was that people could change and improve themselves especially when working for the greater good. Many times the guys could have escaped but chose to do their job and honor their commitment and the Warden. It had a great theme running through the entire show.
