Zorro: Death Stacks the Deck (1958)
This Zorro Episode has it All.
Death Stacks the Deck is my Favorite Episode of Disney's Zorro Season one. It has All the elements of a Great story, carried so ingeniously through the Full Range of human Emotions. Sadness, Friendship and affection, Corruption, Compassion, Bravery and cowardice. The plot is supported as usual by such an Incredible cast, very clever plot Writing, fast Pacing, and careful Direction, that it just flows almost effortlessly from start to the last minute. Their are so many very funny comedic elements to this episode, that only the wonderful action and stunts can hold the viewers interest so intently. I highly recommend Walt Disney's Zorro and this episode. Death Stacks the Deck
Son of the Morning Star (1991)
I must retract former comments about Gary Cole as Gen. G.A.Custer
I have just finished a fairly comprehensive study of Gen. G.A.Custer and the Battle of the Little Big Horn, that included virtually ALL of the current historical literature on GAC & LBH, and a TOUR of the actual Little Bighorn Battlefield in Montana. I therefore must not merely amend my previous comments but retract them all together. Gary Cole gives us an EXCELLENT and more historically accurate picture of this still controversial military officer, than ANY other actor before. Mr. Cole's GAC is much more real, human, complex and therefore accurate picture than say Errol Flynn's famous but almost comic-book character. Over all the attention to detail and historical accuracy is quite apparent in this excellent movie. Gary, sorry about my previous comments.....and oh yes I'm the one who probably needs riding lesson's not you. My High School students REALLY enjoyed your version of "Autie" Custer. I continue to highly recommend (and LEND) this outstanding movie to other American History teachers at my High School. Gary Cole does the "Boy General" PROUD.

Stealth (2005)
This movie ROCKS....screw the critics
The pre-release reviews of this movie were so horrid, that I did not even bother to see the movie at the theater. So I was quite surprised and delighted that this movie was IMHO EXCELLENT. OK you have to suspend a lot of technical oversights regarding the tactical use of stealth aircraft, the whole object of stealth combat aircraft is to engage BVR beyond visual range, the F/A-22 and F-35 are not going to go down and move a lot of mud or engage in Air-to-Air combat with Russian aircraft, the entire concept is to REMAIN INVISIBLE to the enemy in the air or on the ground. So that said watching these new concept aircraft on film is really looking at the future of Combat Aviation. I just believe that the movie was very well done. Seeing stealth aircraft trap and launch on a CVN was a real THRILL. Hope a new computer game comes from it all.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)
Wonderful Orchestral Score
The music to this movie is very beautiful and greatly added to its success. It is both majestic and somber, but also exhilarating and intense. I was so impressed with the film score that I bought the soundtrack CD. The music is by fellow German Klaus Badelt a friend and contemporary of the excellent film composer Hans Zimmmer (Gladiator)....with numerous musical influences or references to Motzart and Beethoven and others throughout. I also hear the inspiration of another great pirate movie film composer named Eric Korngold who wrote the music to Captain Blood and many others that starred Errol Flynn. I only buy a film score if I feel that the music can stand on its own minus the film. Not all film scores can do this, but the movie music of the top film composers like John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith do hold up quite well on their musical merits.I want our High School band director to do a corps-style marching show based on the music to Pirates of the Caibbean
