Jai Ho (2014)
JAI HO ........ or should i say AIYYO ......
Let me start by saying I haven't watched the regional film, Stalin, from which this is supposed to be inspired... though I am grateful I didn't ...
A story with its heart in the right place but brains gone awry, wrong in so many places, logic just flew out of the windows in this one.....
This seemed more like a launch wagon for all those actors who had disappeared for a long time ...... U'd loose count of the characters which keep popping up after every couple of reels...
So, now you know where to head if you are looking for a relaunch or even a debut in Bollywood with the Super-Star .... its called BIGGBOSS ..........
There were quite a few good scenes and awesome dialogues....though some of them are gonna backfire big-time ... for instance take this one " Aam Aadmi bada sust Critic hain , Gandi film mat dikhao, Pak gaya toh Cheer faadh dega .... "
The irony being that even this film mite rake in crores like all the mindless stuff last year which were even awarded ....
RIP ...... INTELLIGENT BOLLYWOOD !!!!
P.S. One message which i agree to "Help 3 people and start a chain" .......... I am doing my bit and helping quite a few save their money ...........
Time Pass (2014)
Reliving Innocence
A sparkling jewel from the director of Natrang and Balak Palak , both of which are gems in their own right. Ketaki M and Prathamesh P , the lead couple couldn't have been sweeter and the supporting cast were awesome too. Ketaki has already proved her metal in the movies like Kaksparsh and Shaala. Prathemesh already wowed audiences with his role in Balak-Palak.
They have been given much more to chew on in this movie. More acting , more expressions, and more emoting. And they do excel in all departments. Looks like some class actors in the making.
A couple of nice songs too in the album, nice enough to hum along ......
All in all a sweet dish just perfectly right for the new year !!!! Go watch it for the innocence it portrays ....
The Lunchbox (2013)
A lunch-box which holds surprises galore !!!
A complete experience, worth every penny spent, no song and dance routines, no action scenes, no loud jokes, and still this one is exquisite ........... for the simple reason that it is story telling at its best , most of the times, there were no dialogs , but the message was conveyed every time.
With the fine ensemble of actors, the performances need not be spoken about , Irfan , Nimrat and Nawazuddin were so real and so very much like people around us and not to forget the aunty upstairs (not showing her was a masterstroke) .........
Bravo to the entire team for daring to make a movie so unconventional and yet so amazing !!! Hats Off !!!
