Outsourced (2006)
indianness
I saw this movie on Star Movies yesterday. I liked this movie a lot. The underlying message of the movie was in spite of all odds things still work in India. Whoever is willing to take the risk of setting shop in such emerging economies like India can be assured of profits if he absorbs and shares the cultural diversities. For eg:The incident where Todd transfers the entire office to the terrace when water gushes in. Also the Holi festival & arse washing incidennts were unique
But the girl was slightly too.despo & forward for a Indian small town girl. All the actors did their part well. Can anybody suggest me more movies with this theme ?
Life in a Metro (2007)
it was totally different
Firstly heartiest congratulations to Anurag & his team for providing us a different recipe. A tight screenplay revolving around 8-9 characters.
It is well mixed, minced & garnished with some sufi band. Life of metro citizens revolves around wealth, women & wretched ambitions . They tend to get wild running after these things This has been rightly depicted by the movie. Traditional values like fidelity & virginity donot come in the way of these guys when they wish to fulfill these 3Ws. One novel highlight of this movie was sizzling Nafisa ali .Though i am in my early 30s i found her the best out of all the ladies in the film. Did anyone feel the same?
Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992)
Great direction
A story set in a scenic hill station and concerning teenagers is a treat to watch. Its amazing to see that that majority of actors who turned out to be major failures later have performed very well. Deepak tijori,Ayesha julka,Mamik,Poojabedi .......all have packed their bags today as far as acting is concerned. But for all of them it must have been a memorable performance. This goes to prove that films are directors medium.A average script with an above average director can make ordinary actors perform like stars. Hats off...Mansoor. What to say about Aamir. He is a true genius and now he has shown his facets as citizen khan. My best regards to him for his future career.
Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai (2002)
empty goals
This film nicely depicts the false and empty goals a present day urban Indian teenager develops.
Amisha was too good and her melancholy look helped her here as it did in GADAR.I would regard her as the tragedy queen of modern day cinema in making. My compliments to the makers of this film for raising an important issue concerning teenagers. It has become a fad/fashion in college students to go steady and have girlfriends. Those who do not get one sulk and go to the extent of committing suicide/murders,. This clearly affects the life and careers of such young men. I guess colleges should dedicate half and hour every week on counseling their students. They should be taught to control their emotions and concentrate on their real goal during this explosive age. I give it a 8 out of 10.
