Welkeomtu Samdal-ri (2023)
Bad
I don't understand high rating.
Too much drinking and swearing. I haven't seen this in any other kdrama I've watched.
Parents holding 30 year old grown ups to ransom for their grudge and the 30 year olds obliging.
World renowned photographer not suing her assistant for character assassination and conspiracy. Instead running to remote island throwing 20 years of hard work and dream down the drain overnight.
And the ML is so unlikeable. I liked the actor in Healer but here it's just not working. The main leads are the most boring. I had to fast forward everytime they were on screen having the same old boring conversation with same old expressions.
The FL is so good in other dramas and she did pretty good here but it's not her fault. It's the character she plays that's irritating.
I'm on ep 11 now after a lot of fast forward but I don't think I can drag along anymore.
The only likeable arch is the AS group guy. His scenes were hilarious.
Catering Christmas (2022)
Bad ending
First A brush with Christmas and now this.
Fed up of these recent Christmas movies that always show male protagonist sacrificing his entire career and future after one week of knowing that lady who is selfish enough to let the man sacrifice his entire career just so he can be with her in her small town.
Oh! And she continues to thrive in her dream career or business or whatever that is btw.
Selfless love is to put other person's interests before your own. A better ending would have been the lady insisting the guy does not compromise his career instead of her getting angry and upset simply because he is simply pursuing his career just like she is pursuing hers. If he still stays then that's his decision. But that is too much to expect from these movies I guess.
Oppenheimer (2023)
Obsession of west glorifying evil
Glorifying life and acts of a person responsible for millions of innocent deaths including babies and children is abomination.
Horrendous aftermath of this catastrophe has been conveniently omitted from the movie. Why? Why are you afraid to show the consequences of your unforgivable actions? Because then you will no longer be able to sell it off as intellect and brilliance. People will be disgusted by what your so called brilliance produced.
And healing your guilt by citing bhagvad Gita?
I guess they never bothered to dive into teachings of Gita else they wouldn't have used it so loosely to justify a type of act it actually condemns.
West has always marketed it's blood ridden past as being intellectual and extraordinary. It's sickening.
Fate: The Winx Saga (2021)
Unlikeable characters
Most of the main characters have repelling personalities. The girl gang is pretentious and self important. The main protagonist and her boyfriend are full of arrogance. Our leading lady keeps reminding everyone how she is more powerful than the rest with her whatever flame. Terra is just too much to bear.
I couldn't care less if any of these characters died at the hands of Sebastian or Rosalind.
The only engaging characters Rosalind and Dowling are both dead. So is Beatrix.
The only person you feel for is Beatrix although they didn't give her much screen time this season. And Stella is ok too.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022)
Bad decision
To watch this movie. I stopped watching Bollywood several years back because all it presents is cheap and tasteless.
Since I'm fond of horror and this movie got good rating I thought to give it a try.
It was so bad. The hero flirting with girls. Calling a child pig and threatening him all the time. Ready to beat a woman with stick. If this is what a hero looks like then who is a villan?
And what is this Bollywood 's obsession to show pandits in bad light. Another movie where a priest is shown as fraud and a thief beaten by our hero and they also slid a cow urine joke to look cool.
Never seen Bollywood passing similar jokes on a maulvi or padri. Guess what? I'm done. Never going to watch bollywood again.
Stranger Things: Chapter Nine: The Piggyback (2022)
Bad writing
Eddie should never have been friends let alone die for the sake of people who don't even care he has died and carrying off with life as if nothing happened.
Eddie put his faith on very selfish bunch of so-called friends. Except Dustin.
Jiok (2021)
I changed my rating
I was too distressed until episode 5 especially with the newborn decree. To be honest I was confused where this was going but added a few more stars to the rating simply for saving the baby in the end. What a relief phew!
I had tears when the innocent baby cried from within the burnt remains of its parents.
Sarangeui bulsachak (2019)
Main leads are annoying
I loved the male lead in secret garden so was looking forward to this one but it's a complete disappointment.
First he could not express for most of the series except a few scenes. Is it because of too much Botox ?
Second didn't like the character of jeong hyuk. Always acting hero to protect the lady are we? Not to mention those text messages with a world of free advice including how to be a good driver.
Thirdly the South Korean part of the drama was so cringe. The security agencies acted like match makers.
Finally they killed the other guy and ended the only promising love story in the series.
Seriously I couldn't care less if they killed the main male lead.
Agui kkot (2020)
Main protagonist is intolerable
I don't like men who keep lying to their faithful wives again .. and again... and again. The female lead must be made of steel to put up with (oh and keep loving) her liar husband till the end.
Gooreumi Geurin Dalbit (2016)
Why?
I wanted to give an 8 but I take away 2 stars because I'll never understand why the crown prince in final episode was never shown lamenting the death of his friend who not only saved the prince's life by putting his own at risk in previous occasions but also ended up dying protecting his lady love.
On a separate note bo gum has the talent of captivating anyone with his facial expressions.
Geunyeoui Sasaenghwal (2019)
Started on a high note
I have seen many k dramas. While they start on a high note as the series progresses the pace slows down and several unnecessary sub plots are introduced. The final few episodes are very boring.
And the female lead is plain irritating in later episodes. She is smiling and twitching her eyes all the time for no reason. I really liked her in Healer. Her character had more personality there and her acting was on point. But here after male lead's mother's plot starts she is just the same in all the scenes.
Emily in Paris (2020)
Off the mark
I've finished the first episode and it may be too early to write this review but I couldn't stop myself.
What's with all the French people shown so rude at main protagonist's work place? It almost looks deliberate to show what a good american our protagonist is not minding all the negativity thrown at her and acting all cool. And the only friendly character so far is chinese.
A Primeira Tentação de Cristo (2019)
Disrespectful
Answering to the reviewer who said would Netflix make such horrible content like this on other religions like Hindus , the answer is yes they have done.
Netflix India released a movie extremely insulting to Hindu god Lord Krishna. Only after being hurt as a Hindu did I come here to see they are doing this to other tolerant faiths as well.
But they don't have guts to target Muhammad or Islam like this because they know if they do the makers won't be alive to make another movie.
Mahabharat (1988)
Best thing to happen to Indian television
I would rate it 11/10 if I could. This is not just a depiction of historical events between pandavas and kauravas. Every dialogue by the characters has a learning for people in general. This series does justice to the glorious history of India and the fifth Veda Mahabharata.
The trash they produce these days in the name of historical dramas should first take a leaf from this series how to produce pure gold.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
What did I just see?
I had been waiting for Dany to try execute Jon with dragon fire for treason but him coming out unharmed just like her and claiming right to throne. Instead what do I see? Jon killing un-armed Dany cowardly and good for nothing Bran becoming king. And what is Brienne doing in kings landing. Isn't she supposed to be with Sansa in winterfell? Seriously the scene where Bran asks about Drogon looks like I'm watching children show.
Honestly I had hoped the last scene would be Bran's eyes turning blue with an evil smirk.
Game of Thrones: The Last of the Starks (2019)
Call specsavers
Dany needs to go to specsavers and get her and Drogon 's eyes checked. Put on glasses if needed as they could not spot iron fleet. Cersei should as well as she also could not spot drogon sitting at such close range like a duck, otherwise she would have taken him down immediately with her scorpions.
