Finding Happiness (2014)
Fun and inspiring
I was somewhat skeptical going into this film, much like the journalist in the film. Further and further into the film however, I began to understand what the people of this community were all about. This film could be truly eye opening to the correct audience. I myself am excited to learn more about the Ananda people and ways of life. The education system being used was quite fascinating as well, I am interested to see how it works in the long run. Finding Happiness is a great fun, full of very interesting ideas, people and ways of life. I had a wonderful time watching this film, it gives a sort of excitement for the future that few films manage to accomplish.
Lunch (2012)
Inventors of comedy meet for lunch
These old guys are a lot like my grandpa, they meet up together at the same place for lunch once a week, and they talk. They converse about current topics, family, and how they are being left behind by new trends in culture. The big difference however is that they are not farmers, they are basically the inventors of comedy. I wish there was a diner near by full of old funny guys like these, I would go there all of the time. I am a huge fan of comedy, and it was really quite fascinating learning a lot of behind the scenes information about some of my favorite films and television shows. Hearing these guys talk about there glory days is quite compelling, because though they may be past tier primes, they still continue to do what they love and are still honing and perfecting their craft.
Comedy Warriors: Healing Through Humor (2013)
Honest, funny, emotional and inspirational
It is really messed up what happens to some war veterans, but it is also amazing that stand up comedy is actually good therapy for them. I was inspired watching these men go through the grueling abuse of open mic nights, bombing on stage and dealing with the emotions of their past. There are some seriously funny professional comics in this documentary, and it is really cool to see them let these guys into their world and to help them out along the way. With the advice and guidance these once warriors became charismatic, stage dominating, downright hilarious comedians. I hope they are still getting on stage because I would love to go see them perform. Truly amazing.
Pink: Staying True (2013)
That girl is amazing
Holy crap man, I knew that Pink was an excellent pop music artist, put my god does she put on one heck of a show. I was expecting another behind the scenes film with random interviews about friends and family, inspiration for the new album, and a possible stint in rehab. This is not what you get from this movie. This documentary shows what a true talent and hard worker Pink is, and I had no clue she put on that kind of performance. What she does on stage is down right amazing, I have no clue how she does that night after night, in cities across the globe. This women should be the standard by which all other musical performers are compared, and the same goes for this documentary.
Sunset Strip (2012)
Holy crap
I knew musicians and movie stars went hard, but dang. Some of these guys got down with some crazy partying. If the walls could talk they would have the most killer party stories ever. I had no idea some old school bands, and movie stars made it big here too man, all kinds of history happened here. Movie stars partied here in the 1920's, and you know the clubs were banging in the 40's. Those mafia style gangsters kind of messed stuff up in the 50's, but by the 60's dudes like the Beatles were making people go crazy for guitars and hippie music. The punk bands of the 1970's seriously partied like maniacs, as well as the 80's hair bands. Watch this documentary, it is incredible fun.
Cage Fight (2012)
Fun Fight Flick
This flick was straight up awesome. My dudes and I rolled a swisher and straight rolled laughing at this. Big ass Mexican dudes beating the stuffing out of each other is always good. Guerrero is trying to get back to his family you know, and his massive muscle power and fighting skills will help him get him there somehow. These gangster dudes for sure want to use him to make money, so they promise to get him to his baby, and baby momma. Dude straight beast-modes several guys in khakis and wife beaters, for touching random dimes, and several other reasons. Will he get to see his family after committing several felonies, and possible murders? Watch and found out for yourself man. Seriously watch it this is a fun movie with some great MMA inspired fight scenes.
