The Batman (2022)
An average criminal drama
Take Batman out of the movie and nothing will change.
So unncessesarily extended with useless scenes that don't add anything to the movie, whilst some of the characters that needed more attention, backstory and development were rushed.
The main villain is over exaggerated and cringe at times. Almost nothing happens for the whole movie and you can easily fall asleep; I forced myself to stay awake.
Batman felt like he was being cosplayed by a gamer after 4 sleepless nights and on a dozen of energy drinks.
Of course they added a good-looking catwoman to make up for all of it.
Riverdale (2017)
A downfall
Started out as a great and promising mystery & crime-solving adventure. The writing was good, the dialogues were enjoyable and there was chemistry between the characters.
After seasons 2 & 3 it turned downwards. It became a poorly written love drama with heavily induced political agenda about modern stuff. Since they ran out of ideas they slowed down the storyline, introduced stupid musical episodes and the show became a waste of time. The writing is so poor it's unbelieveable. The moments don't flow naturally, it's all forced and it's very unrealistic. What a way to ruin a once good series!
Outer Banks (2020)
A journey
I am very pleased and surprised that Netflix has produced a show that would actually focus on the storyline, and all the little details in communication between the characters.
I honestly expected another politically correct drama that would show the "struggles" of the people of unidentified genders, people of color, etc. But this series surprises me a lot. Having a movie/show to focus on the story and the characters' growth is the "Royal Merchant" of today's cinema.
The story is unrealistic but very enjoyable.
13 Reasons Why: Nobody's Clean (2019)
Ani's narrating
What I noticed and liked about this episode is when Ani speaks a few words about boys/men. She understands why it is hard to be a man. Men also struggle and have difficult times in life. The male is not as emotional as the female and they often hide their pain and struggle. It's not always about the woman and men can be victims too. I like that they show us that side of life too.
Pandora (2019)
Too early to tell
I usually don't write reviews, but people's negativity here really bothers me sometimes. The pilot episode has just arrived and there's people already quitting on the show. Guys, give it some time before hating.
This show's budget is not high, CGI isn't the best, but overall the episode looks good to me. What I didn't like about it was that it's a bit rushed. We could get an introduction to Jax's parents, some friends and enemies of them or a bit of what they were trying to discover, etc.
But I enjoyed the episode because the plot has some interesting history, it has its mystery and then there's the drama between the characters. If the creators did a good job with the script, it could develop into something awesome.
My advice to people is - don't rely on the negative reviews, wait for a few more episodes to air and try the show for yourselves. You may enjoy it, you may not, but it's way too early to tell now.
