Didn't last long enough
9 July 2011
It was only five episodes and aired nearly forty years ago, but I still remember this show. It had everything you would want in a variety show: singing, comedy, guests.

The best thing about the show what the interaction between Melba Moore and Clifton Davis. They had the chemistry that made the show work. It was as good as the Sonny and Cher chemistry in their early years.

We were promised that it would return in the fall of 1972, but that never happened. I believe Melba got her own show that lasted one episode.

Unfortunately this is one of many shows that were memorable, way before the days of VCRs, DVDs, and Blu-ray. And there are no DVDs available for purchase of even one episode. Does anyone at CBS want to release this on video?

The Neon Ceiling (1971 TV Movie)

I have the VHS
31 January 2009
I have been looking for this video for years and years and years. I only saw it once on network television as it is a made-for-TV movie. There was always something about this movie that I couldn't get out of my head. I, too, wanted to see it again. In fact I purchased a movie script many years ago. It is available for sale as well. I have posted many places asking if they had it available. Once someone told me that he had a 16 mm version, but I didn't have a projector. The owner had some health problems and was unable to convert it. This comment section is going to be quite lengthly as the comment section must be ten lines of information before it can be posted. I have been told it is in the public domain and available for purchase. Anyway, to make a long story short, I have a very good quality of this movie on VHS. If you are interested in seeing it again and owning it, feel free to contact me. I would be willing to sell the video and movie script to you and you can view it as many times as your heart desires. My log in is same on ebay. Contact me there.

Reunion (2005–2006)
Guess they never knew there were other time slots.
10 January 2006
Can you imagine the outrage if 24 were canceled mid-season? I have to believe the "bigs" at Fox never thought that Reunion might succeed if it weren't up against two heavy-weights on other networks. They make adjustments for other shows, often showing re-runs and re-runs and re-runs. And now the producer basically says that "Reunion will only return over my dead body." Wait! I know why it was canceled. They weren't smart enough to have an ending. Sounds like a child who covers his eyes and says, "You can't see me." That will solve the problem.

Maybe the solution in the future when it comes to Fox is just wait until the season is over and buy the DVD. That way you won't be left wondering who....

Mixed Company (1974)
5/10
Definitely not PG
19 March 2005
This is a cute film about families and how members change. The short skirts on Mom really brought back memories. It looked so strange to see short shorts on the basketball players.

One word of warning: the language is horrific. I guess that is to be expected since we saw it on a premium channel, but it seemed to be over the top, especially for a film made 30 years ago.

We especially enjoyed the relationships between the coach and "star" basketball player; the "Indian" boy and the Vietnamese/American girl; the original family and the new family; and the husband and wife before and after the family size increased.

It was also nice to see stars we had forgotten about; 1974 is the date given and it has given us the desire to see "where are they now."
