Greenland (2020)
A Disaster Movie that brought out a tear
Never been a great fan of disaster movies, they can be too much of a good feel crap, not real. This movie put me in the heart of everything that was happening, I felt like the main characters, they were behaving exactly as I think I would, in the same situation. The whole thing was nail biting stuff, felt helpless for the family, the whole friend and family dynamics between their neighbours and father was real. I loved it, going to watch it again.
Valhalla (2019)
Brilliant - Real Thor as Imagined it would be
This was so much better than the Hollywood treatment, this actually felt real, as I imagined what Asgard would be like, none of that Holywood technologically advanced and old world at the same time stuff. Not sure what I was expecting when I started to watch the film, but really enjoyed it; the acting and direction could have been better, but a great watch nevertheless.
Dogville (2003)
8m 32s of time I won't get back
Read the 10 star reviews, all saying so glad I didn't turn it off, well I'm glad I did turn it off. The movie may well be trying to tell in its sarcastic clever way of the Existential human being, but infact what it is is fooling those 10 star reviewers with 'The Emprors New Clothes'. And now look what it's done to me, I've spent another blooming 10 minutes writing this review, that's almost 20 minutes wasted.
War of the Worlds (2019)
Biased Casting - Lack of Diversity
Let me start by saying, I have always loved watching and listening to all adaptations of 'War of The Worlds', and when I came across this by chance, I got pretty excited, and started to really get into it, untill about 30 minutes into it. And what happened you may ask; I noticed how (in the year 2020, and with all the awards so white awakening) the cast, and I mean the main cast is all white, there are bit part black and asian actors, but the main cast is all white, and the one black character that features in all episodes is a refugee. Are producers, directors and even the actors so blind that they cannot and did not notice lack of diversity when working on this adaptation. As much as I would like to watch this show, I'm afraid I won't be able ro press play after pausing it at 34 minutes, to write this observation. This adaptation maybe the best there ever has been as far as adaptations go, but I won't find out for myself, as I will be removing it from my box downloads. And just so you know I am not black, so I am not biased from that perspective.
