The Witcher: The Cost of Chaos (2023)
A lot better than the reviews it's getting.
I don't ok now if just reading the reviews on here meant that my expectations were lowered. But it was a decent episode.
Yes the main events happened a few episodes ago, but the last episode doesn't have to be the climax of the show. GOT used to have key battles etc in episode 9.
The women still wear way too much make up. This really bugs me based in a forest they are dolled up to the eyeballs. Francesca all of a sudden loos likes she's entering a beauty competiin... but looking beyond that plenty happenes in this show.
How the show copes without Cavill who has carried it I don't know. But I think people have really over reacted here voting it so low..
The Witcher: Unbound (2023)
Ruined it
Somehow they have taken all this amazing lore and these great stories and just made something so bland.
The first season was spectacular. It oozed atmosphere. This is just boring.. Like a cheap soap opera. It's gone from being a show I'd watch each episode 2 or 3 times to just finding myself browsing on my phone.
Even Geralt in it seems different now. I can see why Cavil has left the show. It was the warning sign.
A show like this has to stay loyal to it's source material. At least then it keeps a core following. This show now has nothing. I don't know what it's trying to do, who it's trying to target, who finds this entertaining. I don't understand how show creators can just get things so wrong.
Ted Lasso: We'll Never Have Paris (2023)
Too little Team, too much Keeley
The best episodes are all about Ted and the team. Their journey together. It's the appeal of the show. It needs to keep football and Ted at its core.
Keeley just isn't as relevant. She's a side charachter at best, and frankly quite annoying. I think the best part of the Amsterdam episode was she wasn't in it much so we got to see the core characters. This episode focused too much on her and her relationship, which I just don't find interesting in the slightest. I see what they are trying to do with the issue they are trying to raise, but please stick to the football.
A great show, but not always great episodes and this is an example of one to forget.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Very good film
I really liked this film. Firstly it's not really about a Comet. I mean that's the plot but the film is really taking the Mick out of society as a whole. The Tik-Tok lovers might not enjoy the joke at their expense, nor will any dedicated Republican voters, but I think that is the film's charm.
It's not an award winning film but a really good solid watch for an evening.
The Witcher: Family (2021)
Superb and stunning.
No I've not read the books( I have played the games). Do I care if it's not word for word the same as the books? Hell no! Am I glad this show is being made and bringing the Witcher world to life? Hell yes.
I honestly think some of these snobby book purists would rather the Witcher series wasn't made which is mental.
This was a great episode and sets up perfectly for next season with a real twist at the end. Henry Cavil continues to be the best thing about this show, he's spot on with Gerald.
The Witcher: A Grain of Truth (2021)
Good start
Very good start to the series. Dark and full of surprises even if a little drawn out with some characters story development.
Don't get where Siri is getting the makeup from though? Looks a bit out of place.
Loki (2021)
It just seems a bit naff
Whole plot just seems a bit poor. Considering the plot is based around these alien beings it's all very American/English. Not just in terms of dialogue but references and even the main 'offiices'.
Just feels like a cash grab with little writing and mediocre acting.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 16: The Rescue (2020)
Just 1 X wing?
Wow. Absolutely brilliant episode. This show and Rogue One really are such a cut above the movies it's unbelievable.
I thought some the he previous episodes were great, then the ending of this one. Just wow.
Mad Dogs: Episode #4.2 (2013)
Some of you missing the point
There's a few older reviews on here where people have completely missed what happened.
I won't post a spoiler but let's just say if you think it's a car crash at the end you need to rewatch the last 5 or 10 mins over again.
