Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)
Instant Classic
Tied with the best of the series Mad Max Road Warrior. Epic storyline and adventure, intertwined with politics, greed, deception and lastly revenge. Great acting by the main characters Ann Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth. Photography was stunning, and the action scenes were mind blowing. The young Furiosa was a carbon copy of the grown version. George Miller managed to maintain his distinct signature of an all too believable take on humanity at its honest core of desperation and survival skills. The quest for valuable resources and the need for isolation from barbarians. I must see it again for another joy ride.
Mea Culpa (2024)
Force Fed Media
Kelly Rowland and Shannon Thornton, are the only reasons I forced myself to finish this terrible attempt at a murder mystery. Tyler should know if he or whoever researched Chicago that there is no death penalty in Illinois since 2011, and marijuana is legal. Terrible directing, terrible timing, and even a good actor/actress would have trouble rescuing this unbelievable script. The only good thing was the cinematography whicj was outstanding. Yet another Tyler Perry film where the men are weak little mommas boys. There was absolutely no serious connection between non of the characters, which didn't help the whole lost cause of a movie. It took me three days to finish this mess. Thirty minutes is all I could take. I need to ask Netflix for a $5.00 discount.
Bom Dia, Verônica (2020)
Unbelievably Great writing
Absolutely one of the best crime series I had ever seen, ranks right up there with The Killing, it touches distinctly with the problem of domestic violence and how Society is slow to take it seriously although it's much better now than 20-30 years ago but I'm a man I can only speak from a man's position who has never abused women, however it also shows the difficulty in the commitment that law enforcement has to undertake balancing family life and justice but in this series it seems as though the corrupt system is causing her to feel like this is going to be a never-ending battle I just saw season 1, I'm so hyped up to see the rest of the seasons.
Uppity: The Willy T. Ribbs Story (2020)
Inspirational and Motivating
I knew of some of his accomplishments but never knew the backstory. Mr. Ribbs along with others during this time raised the level of consciousness in America concerning race issues and how he never played the victim but looked at his struggles as hurdles rather than brick walls. Lewis Hamilton is standing on one of his shoulders.
