Marionette (2020)
smart, complex & twisted!
This film is very well made, and most important: it has a few openings for interpretation. We can say that it is a case of post-traumatic psychosis, but we can say that it is a kind of "autistic struggle & adaptation" syndrome in a case of child abandonment. Is a film that raises several questions, including about free will and choice, about the limits and defense mechanisms of a traumatized mind, but also about the limits of the scientific / analytical approach in working with children. The dynamics of the film are unpredictable, with unexpected twists. The interesting part is that you don't know for sure in whose mind it all happened. The viewer can choose what he thinks is most plausible, but the all variants work anyway and are interconnected. It made me think of a "post-hitckock" approach for psychoanalysis enthusiasts.

So good!
This film is for people who think, for those who appreciate the parable, subversive humor, stinging references to the system, politics, history, class struggle, manipulation and lying, for those who taste multiple meanings, and last but not least because it reminds us by Felini, Eugen Ionesco, Jodorowski, Boris Vian, Peter Greenaway, Monty Python and ... yes, Brazil. It is a work spiced with absurd elements, but which can be decoded into several keys, depending on your age, intelligence, sense of humor, knowledge and life experience that you have.
