Woman in Motion (2019)
An artful, inspiring, and challenging tribute
Masterfully planned and beautifully edited, this documentary tells the true story of how Nichelle Nichols used her fame as Star Trek's Lt. Uhura to literally change the face of the U. S space program. Her tireless recruitment of Blacks, women, and candidates from other underrepresented groups for NASA's astronaut corps in the 1970s and 80s helped make America's presence in space more diverse and inclusive.
Entertaining and inspiring, the movie conveys Nichols' optimistic belief that, when anyone, celebrity or not, sees something wrong in society, they can help make it right. All can answer the sacred vocation of building a more generous, compassionate, and just present and future.

The Muppets' Wizard of Oz (2005)
Faithful to the best Baum *and* Muppet traditions
This is a wonderful treat for the entire family. As a fan of both Oz and the Muppets, I was pleased that this film lives up to the best traditions of both. Although it contains a number of "tips of the hat" to the 1939 MGM musical, its inspiration is clearly drawn much more from L. Frank Baum's original 1900 novel (just as the on-screen credits indicate). As a result, several elements of Oz with which post-Judy Garland moviegoers may not be familiar are present -- albeit with a humorous and satirical twist as only the Muppets can do. This movie makes for great family entertainment, even after repeated viewings. Give it a chance and discover the fun for yourself!
Nothing Sacred (1995)
An excellent drama of family and faith
This outstanding series, boasting acting and writing of the finest caliber, did not deserve its early demise. It is a realistic, gripping, humorous, heartwarming and heartbreaking portrayal of urban ministry to which people of any or no faith should be able to relate. Ultimately, while the main characters -- Fr. Ray, Fr. Leo, Sister Mo -- are clergy or other religious professionals, they are, more importantly, human beings, struggling to make sense of their lives in the context of an ultimate meaning. A first-rate series, full of stellar performances and memorable episodes, eminently deserving of a reintroduction to the public by way of DVD.
