De terrorist Hans-Joachim Klein (2005)
Worth to see
This movie, which was also shown on the 30th International Göteborg Film Festival in 2007, tells the story of Hans-Joachim Klein. Having been a terrorist in the 1970s in Germany, he tells us the story of his life.
With easy but impressive words, Klein tells us of his journey. Beginning in Frankfurt with a non-functioning family, developing through the post-war left-wing scene of Germany, Klein-Klein's (as he was called then) "career" found its summit in December 1975 with a kidnapping at the OPEC meeting in Vienna.
He then vanished and lived a life in the underground. Traveling through some Arabic states, Italy and rural France, he turned away from terrorism and later reported himself to the police.
It is worth to watch this in German, as the movie gets a lot of its interest by the Hessian dialect Klein uses. This indicates that terrorism is not a far-away phenomenon, but could be quite near though.
It is worth seeing, especially when being interested in the history of Germany after WWII. And even with the omnipotent background of global terrorism, this is an interesting movie to watch.
Mendy - Das Wusical (2003)
Wusical as a new kind of musical...
"Wendy - Das Wusical" is the first musical by the German comedian artist Helge Schnieder and was shown at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. Due to the very much twofold empathy towards Helge Schneider, it has to be said with distinction that all the shows were fully sold...
The plot (as it could be said that there is one)is about the fifteen year old schoolgirl Wendy which adores horses. Especially her own horse Mocca... The movie is about her family live with her demanding mother and her sick father.
Many hidden jokes make the play enjoyable to watch and provide a different view than the previous Helge Schneider movies. According to the author, the musical is about: "love, intrigues, envy, bowling and the police". Typical kind of humour by Helge Schneider.
Enjoy.
